    I love watching your videos. This was a great one with awesome advice I never considered before. I used to write articles for people on Fiverr a few years ago, it's where I got a lot of experience and confidence in my writing, but it wasn't paying enough. After a year I barely earned $500, but it was a great learning experience. Thanks again for creating this video for us aspiring copywriters.

      I started out on job boards too. I learned a ton but struggled to pay the bills. That's why I recommend reaching out to your own clients. You can find businesses that really understand the value of copy and are willing to pay what your writing is worth.

    Thanks Sarah. Wish you had been an online advisor for newbie writers 20 years ago. Your breakdown for each step (to becoming a professional copyrighter) cuts through the extraneous blah-blah-blah that tends to squash the excitement of delving into new territory. Informative, concise, and encouraging is the ticket. 😄

    I purchased your course at the end of March 2023 and have struggled to really get started. This video is *exactly* what I needed to motivate me. When I'm feeling distracted or like I just can't do this, I watch a student success story or coaching replay...it helps to remind me WHY I'm doing this. Thank you for posting this, you have reignited my excitement for this new chapter in my life.

    it's really nice not talking to robots and just a warm human being:) i bought a course and i literally felt SO alone because it felt too freaking static. i learned a lot but i truthfully felt alone. maybe it was because of my age and everyone was older? i joined in a course when i was seventeen and i just turned eighteen, but i really am interested in copywriting. i write all the time in my journals every since i was younger. i love hearing this advice from you!! it makes me smile wide! I've joined a community called WorldTonic for young gen z writers specifically for copywriting, but i'd LOVE to purchase your course too someday or even sooner than i think. i honestly think you're freaking awesome & incredibly engaging--i can see read it in your email list i'd subscribed to! also when you say handcopy, do you mean copy down what was written? if so, while i write it, can i rewrite parts of it and gloss it better? change some things as i write? or it is foolish as a baby in this practice and not by the hands of the winning copy I'm supposed to be copying? :)

    • @SarahTurnerAgency

      I build my entire business with cold emails. I have 2 videos on how to set up your cold emails and reach out to potential clients. When they book a call with you, that's your opportunity to learn about their business and see what their needs are. Then you follow up after the call with an email that has your proposal for services. It's good to give a few different options so they have some wiggle room in their budget. If you have any questions, you can shoot me an email at freedom@sarahturneragency.com

    Sarah Thank you so much you really calm my nerves. I am struggling to decide how much time I should devote to learning specific aspects of copywriting for example web copy because I feel I need to be good at all -- ads, sales pages to earn well.

    • @SarahTurnerAgency
      @SarahTurnerAgency  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, there are a lot of copywriters that specialize in just one type of copy. I recommend starting with blogs because it's the fastest way to establish a steady, predictable income since they're needed on a regular basis. Once you feel comfortable doing that, you can add another type of copy. There's no one way to build your business. It's whatever feels right for you. If learning all types of copy at once is overwhelming, then chose one to start with. You got this!

    • @axed1176
      @axed1176 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, Sarah. Isn't working with companies that compete within the same niche a kind of complicated if you have to follow a non-disclosing policies of some kind. How do you cope with that? I believe it does not happen a lot, right?

    • @SarahTurnerAgency
      @SarahTurnerAgency  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most copywriters don't come across conflicts of interest, even if they work with clients in the same niche. Details like non-disclosure policies are usually addressed in the contract you sign with clients. That way there are no misunderstandings.

      I'd recommend checking out my video on pricing. (th-cam.com/video/rvoyPDgFzjo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E6Zd2jgciH5kOepU) Even if you're a newbie, you're offering a valuable service, and it's so important not to undercharge.

      It can be easy to skip some of these steps, but you'll learn the most if you go through the process the same as you would any other client. And when you do have your first "real" clients, it won't be as scary because you'll have gone through the process already.

    whats a CTA? Thought leader? Did I miss a tutorial?

    • @SarahTurnerAgency
      @SarahTurnerAgency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A CTA is a call to action. Copywriting always has the goal of getting the reader to do something. This can be signing up for a newsletter, giving an email address, or buying a product. A thought leader is someone who is influential in a certain area/niche. There’s a lot of jargon when it comes to copywriting and marketing, so learning as you go is completely fine!
