Thank you, Andy, for your informative talk on NETS tumours. I have Carcinoid Syndrome, with an unknown primary. I had no obvious symptoms and so the tumours were found by accident by my lovely doctor when I had high blood pressure 15 years ago. By that time the cancer had spread to my liver and one adrenal gland. I have been very well on Octreatide since then and am very fortunate to remain stable with this treatment. I am 63 now.
However, it becomes a chronic disease you have to live with and constantly have injections, blood tests and visits to the specialist and hospital. I am very grateful but would love to know what causes these tumours? Is it genetic?
Hopefully one day a cure will be found. Many thanks, Carol.

You are in my prayers. I just recently got diagnosed with a stage 1 Neuroendocrine tumor and still have testing to do. I have been having trouble with digestive issues and b/p going up and down. This is all new to me.

@@johnsmith-ce2nr Thank you John, I will pray for you too. It’s always a bit of a shock at first, I remember. Good luck with your treatment. Yes, I always seemed to be plagued with mild digestive issues too but didn’t know why. I hope you have a knowledgeable oncologist and get well treated and have the slow growing NETS type. Best wishes. Carol

Though neuro-endocrine cells are are present in many organs chiefly the aero digestive passages the lungs are the most common seat of NETS, no one knows why?

Thank you SO much for this video! It is extremely informative! I was diagnosed with a gastric NET but sadly my GI has done an awful job with this process as he’s never encountered this before. Is there any way I can message you with a couple of questions? If I can email you or send a message via a website, please let me know. I could really use some help right now. Thank you so much!
