I'm new and just started last week. This is my first fighting game I've taken seriously besides Smash it just clicked with me more than the other games I've tried
When I picked up the game I lost to the bot that qualifies you to a floor lmao, then I lost my first match at floor 3 (where i placed) and went all the way to floor 1. But improving on this game feels amazing, now I sit comfortably at floor 10 hoping to reach celestial this year
i lost to the bot too, since then i been climbing from 4th to 8th, right now stuck cuz a connection issue dont let me play the game (Latam region out of online til news)
I started at christmas, qualified at floor 6, now at floor 8 comfortably. About to reach floor 9 if the ranking up indicator isn’t lying. I wanna reach celestial this year as well, but also trying to branch out into more traditional fighters (trying bbcf and thinking of picking up melty blood)
I came to floor 9/10(depends on the day I’m still not GOOD) from floor 2 and let me tell you that shit is gratifying. E to A rank in melty as well it’s awesome
I really like it for helping to fight players at your level more consistently. This is my first fighting game I'm actually taking kinda seriously besides Smash so it's nice to be fairly evenly matched
@@UltimateTS64 what i like about it is you can literally go play above your floor to learn to become better. You'll never feel like youre stuck in elo hell.(that is, until you reach floor 10 and have to break thru celestial wich can be pretty hard.)
@@Drawfill yeah that is sick and how it locks you out of floors below you so that way you don't just go steam roll lower level players to farm your rank, you actually have to earn it
I picked this game up months ago but dropped it as I couldn't find a main. A few days ago, I decided to pick it back up and main Ky, the game has been a lot of fun since. I want to say that you are a huge inspiration to me as a player and I've learned a lot about Ky from watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Love this shit right here. Strive is my first fg; I started at floor 3 and 5 months later am now fighting for celestial. Anyone can do it folks never give up. 💪
It’s really nice to see new fighting game players upload their progress for review, it’s so cool and honestly inspiring as cheesy as that word is. Also that airdash RTL was sick lmao
This video is awesome man. You never once called out or shamed the player for making bad plays. You kept positive kept encouraging and cheered for the ayers success the whole time. I hope this becomes a new thing. You could make a series out of it. "Started from the bottom" and it's you sharing the come up of players.
I love videos like this. Youd be surprised how many new players give up when they have no support. Glad this player watched the older video and saw it as a means to improve and has moved forward to do so.
Part of what makes me come back to this game, unlike the other fighting games, is being able to retrace my progression through the floors. I started the beta at 5. Then, I went up to 6, then 6-7, then 7-8, then 8-9. Nowadays, I am floating between floors 9 and 10, and since a few days I can hold my own against players with a much higher character level when using my main.
I went from floor 1 to floor 7 in about a month after 2 character switches. I still got work to do, but seeing the progress I’ve made and actually beating players that would’ve washed me when I first started playing is a great feeling
One thing as a new player I tricking love about strive is how clear everything is. When something happens (unless a glitch), if I look back at it, I can easily see what happened and the mistake I made. I’ve been loving +R but there’s so much and in my opinion, the sprite work doesn’t make things clear enough for many characters, making hard for me to know what happened or what I did wrong.
I never seen Floor 1. The game put me on floor 5 to start, and I was immediately trying to derank so I can start on a lower floor, but I toughed if it out and made it to floor 9. Then I lost so much that I got bumped back to 7 lol.
I spent a month in the dojo, completed all but 2 tutorial stages. By the time I worked the nerve to jump in the towers, I get put on floor 6 at start at level 14. Took a bunch of losses til I bumped into a level 74 I-no player and won gaining exp to level 32
As someone who went from Potemkin to ky, then switched from stick to button box, this person’s next step forward is clear. Time to start learning p and k strings and punishes, and cognitively understanding when to put down the sword and pick up your fist for more mileage in a match. Best of luck!
Getting into fighting games is hard. GGST caught my attention though, and surprisingly, I'm still playing despite experiencing multiple losses in a row in several occasions. Just got to floor 5 from 2 !
As a my main similar with him, seeming to have started playing fighting games here, we have a similar habit with our air attacks. We forget other attacks besides he exists.
I played ky for my first month of learning strive but chipp is who really got my attention out of all the characters, I’ve just been too scared to play him because he will be much harder to learn and i’ll lose a ton. I know this is only tangentially related but this guy is giving me the inspiration i needed to commit to chipp. This guy went from floor 1 to floor 9, so who cares if i drop to floor 1 while learning chipp. I’ll just keep learning til i can do better than my ky currently can
@@shiv3rcubesolver664 man i remember this comment, was a year ago! In the meantime i committed to chipp and made it to celestial promos but those people were way too hard for me xD
I started off playing Leo in beta. He felt pretty decent so i stuck with him When full release of Strive came out I tried I-no and she definitely felt much better. I placed at tower 6 i believe, ended up stuck there for a bit. Managed to fight into floor seven after playing on and off for a while. Biggest issue I have with Ino is trying to work around not having a traditional run. Still looking for a character that suits me more, or clicks with me better like Armor King did for me in Tekken 7.
This reminds me of the time when I was stuck on Floor 4 back in the first open beta when I first played, and here I am now just yesterday got VIP for the 4th month 😄
It might be a thing of new players, i was new too (started at floor 4) and now sitting on 8-10 floors as a Ky, and i really like to do exatly what this guy is doing: chardged D on recovery, stun diper airboned enemies and alot of jump dash HS (lately i like js more ). Cant use RC though :D
Started with Strive for fighting games with the betas. Played with Ram and Sol during that time and like landed on floors 4-5 at launch. Dunno how I clicked onto Ky but now chilling around 9-10 and hope to make celestial. Just wish I could play more but I travel for work. Im not putting anyone or myself through hotel wifi.
Real talk, Ky is just built different. I'm on floor 4 and decided to use Ky for the first time cuz why not. Jumped straight into online with very minimal training. Challenged a floor 10 Nagoriyuki and won 2 sets against him. I did not expect to win whatsoever. I know Ky is a balanced character, but something about him is different compared to everybody else! Decided to main him for a little while, but won't stick with him for long cuz everybody uses him.
Damn this prodigy character progression makes me wanna try give it another shot for celestial. I've been playing KY and hanging between floor 8 and 10, but if prodigy has had the will to try it I'll too. I just need to learn how to play better against zato and practice my KY more and I can do this
Congratulations to that ky player to making it to floor 9 like that other video I say to myself that player got potential now getting stronger hope heaven is ready he coming lol.
Strive was the first fighting game I ever got into. Started on floor 5 but got to floor 7 pretty easily. Over the course of about 160 hours of playtime I got to floor 9 but man my local scene ruined this game for me. I always wonder if I should re-visit this game since no other fighting game really clicked or felt as good to me.
Not gonna lie, I always love to see new players figure out the game.
Oh yeah its satisfying especially when I see them start out on a hard character and see them grow up into grown celestial fledglings proud parent
It's what allows the community to grow!

Always nice to see a Ky player get nobled
You love to see it, genuinely proud to see the improvement. At this point I'm hella invested in this mans character arc.
Same here haha
This is so nice to see the progression. This also shows their tower system works wonders to teach people the ropes of the game.

As someone who picked up strive a few months ago its nice seeing us newer players getting recognized for our improvements.

This shit makes me so hyped and gives me hope for myself. Super proud of this player!
with a better combo game, real oki, and rcing all those unsafe stun dippers, I could see an easy celestial in a few months
Respect the grind yo
