      One day my cousin cop caught our mutual cousin speeding. She issued him a ticket without once registering that they were related because my cousin was in work mode.
      My aunt freaked out and asked why she could be so rude to family, to which she said "I'm sorry, I didn't notice. But even if I did, I cannot risk my carreer by breaking my oath to uphold the law unbiasly."
      I have a lot of respect for my cousin for that.

      When someone says that and it's true, their husband just got knocked to the bottom of the promotion queue.

      To be fair a lot of cops wives and military wives are fucking insufferable. For the military ones we call them dependas and they're just awful. The entitlement that comes from the respect that their husbands either earn or are blanketly given drives their egos up a wall.

    "My Husband is a Lawyer"
    Honey, I doubt it. Because Lawyers have intelligence, and NO bloke with intelligence would even THINK of dating you, let alone marry you.

    • @Maninawig
      @Maninawig 3 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      Yesterday I heard a story of two lawyers trying to frame a PTA mom for some stupid reason by planting drugs in her car. The cop investigated the tip and arrested both layers causing them to be disbarred.
      Not all layers are smart.

      Depends on if her daddy is rich. Lawyers are attracted to money like bees to honey.

    • @adamb89
      @adamb89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Intelligence is not wisdom. I've known a handful of rich professionals (lawyer, general practitioner MD, architect, master electrician) who, while otherwise intelligent and I would say are experts in their field...are just dumb as paint when it comes to relationships. Really dumb paint, too. Totally whipped, wrapped around the finger of an emotionally manipulative cockjuggling thundercunt who happened to be a solid 9 or 10 when they got hitched. But not unlike a new car, lost half their value the moment they were brought home and within 10 years are barely holding together.
      Never marry for looks, gentlemen. Never marry for looks.

      What would happen
      Would the husband be able to get more shit and basically destroy the Karen’s life or is it the other way around ???
      And who the fuck stays with someone that creates so much problems and drama like why

      @Maninawig 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I have done this a few time and have had this done to me.
      When I do it to others (quickly appologizing afterwards) it is because i can neither find something important, like a key ingredient, or haven't seen a single employee for a good 15 minutes.
      When that has happened to me is when someone needs assistance (like grabbing something off a top shelf) and I am wearing my grey jean vest.
      I believe psychologically speaking it has to do with how our minds process visual info passively, like the way we can screw up simple questions like "how many days does it take for the earth to revolve around the sun?"

      @superdave8248 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that isn't how you handle the situation. Because that can lead to a physical altercation. Which in this case would have been initiated by the OP verbal abuse. To be honest, OP probably should count her lucky stars that she worked in a secured building. Otherwise these two probably would have made a situation beyond an initial bump with security at her place of work. That's not get one over on the "Karens" that is escalating the situation with your actions.

    • @Maninawig
      @Maninawig 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@superdave8248 it is kinda sad that you say "to be honest, OP should count her lucky stars that she worked in a secure building " ... Because it is a reminder that we live in a world where empowering abusers by ignoring them can be seen as the right thing to do.
      Escalation is not always the wrong thing. Knowing they might start a physical altercation does not make it your fault as they too have an option to walk away, especially if you haven't used derrogatory terms. You might suffer a black eye or some broken ribs, but you might actually have stopped a vicious cycle that might have escalated to disastrous proportions. (A good example is a story where a Karen escalated a situation to stop human trafficing)

    I was in an Asian Grocer the other day and a lady mistook me for an employee (easy as their uniform is all black and unmarked and where I do work, is just a short walk away and she probably recognised me from there) and started speaking to me in Mandarin (my knowledge of the language is rudimentary but from key words I know it was definitely Mandarin). I said “Sorry I don’t work here! I’m just grabbing food on my break!” made a “no” hand gesture then showed her my work badge and pointed to where I worked, and she apologised to me saying “duìbùqî” and we shared a giggle before I got her an actual employee. I don’t understand why the concept of “I don’t work here” to native English speakers is so hard when two people who spoke opposite languages and very little of each other’s languages could have this interaction and not have it turned into an incident.

    In the same vein as the first story....
    About ten years ago, a friend of mine worked security at Target, before they ceased operations in Canada. Her store had a frequent shoplifter, who would try the 'my child is missing' game to pull resources away from being able to stop a second person from walking out a door with expensive unpaid merchandise (laptops, other electronics, etc). Her plan backfired though, as the chain has a preset time frame that if a missing child isn't located, police are contacted (I won't say how long, but it isn't long at all). The shoplifter apparently got pretty defensive when the store notified police, who arrived quickly to investigate a missing child. Turns out the "missing" child was at home with grandma all along, and the shoplifter got arrested. During the arrest, the Indigenous shoplifter also apparently had the audacity to accuse the Indian cop of being racist against brown people! The arrest happened on a Friday afternoon, and the way the story went, she spent the weekend in jail before being released 😂

I work in the back and know exactly where everything is, and know we only had large items back there, so I told him such. He followed me and bugged me for about 5-10 minutes straight, and he got me rather mad at that point, so I told him to follow me into the back room. I then asked him where would such an item be as we only had large boxes that had furniture in them. He was shocked and asked why wasn't anything back there? I told him, sir if we had stuff back here, we couldn't get customers to buy them. He finally left the store, defeated.

    Story 3: I get some people hate confrontation and some use it as a basis as teaching someone else a lesson if they're not in the wrong or simply trying to defend themselves. I am in the middle of these 2. I don't mind being confrontational if the person has been extremely rude or physically aggressive, but if it's something trivial or I just don't care I deescalate and try to walk away. I get this doesn't always work for either side and I get that some people hate confrontation because they've experienced things or it just makes them uncomfortable, but confuses me is how his gf hated confrontation enough to allow someone to accuse him of flirting/harassing her and didn't stick up for him or say that OP was her boyfriend. Cause not stating these things just makes Karens crazier lol they'll say anything to get their way "See? This man right here was breathing too hard in her direction!"

They think spreading the misery will make it less, it just makes it more, because deep down they KNOW they are doing the wrong thing and they hate themselves. I used to work as loss protection and there's quite a few favorite tactics shoplifters use, but here's three very common ones we're trained to spot immediately:
      - If they're in a team, one will ask you to help them find something in another part of the store while their shoplifter buddy, who's probably just an aisle away from you, starts stealing.
      - If they're solo, they'll compliment and make friendly small talk to get into your good graces so you won't suspect them.
      - The old changing room trick. Most dept stores now ask to count each article of clothing though.
      We also frequently browse shoplifter forums and tags too. Yes such communities exist in most platforms and are surprising open about what they do.
