- This is a series on the Dharmashastras. The idea is to unpack and explore the relevance of the Dharmashastras in the present context. In this first episode, we have Nithin Sridhar, chief curator of the Advaita Academy as the guest.
Nithin answers two questions during the course of this discussion:
(1) If the Vedas are pradhana, what is the need for the Dharmashastras? Why have the dharmashastras at all and what purpose do they serve in the scheme of things as far as Sanatana Dharma is concerned?
(2) Is there a need to revisit the Dharmashastras to make them “more relevant” to the times? Isn’t it true that the Shastras are “contextual” and subject to Kaala and Desha and therefore shouldn’t we be looking to remove portions that are not relevant or discriminatory?

How to accept Veda as Pradhaana ? Why should we accept Vedas ?
Everything is derived from the Vedas - all puranas, all the commentaries, the Bhagavad Gita... Everything. Then how can the Vedas be not pradhana?
@@rameshv5 Sir, when i say why should we accept vedas, then obviously i am questioning all other literatures also. So,basically, i am quesitoning the base tenet itself.
Why should we accept vedas as Pramaana ?
We see, many who do not consider any of these in various foriegn countries living well with lot of abyudaya..
So, why should we give importance to Vedas ?

So, is it right to assume that there is a requirement of accepting the basis without reasoning to follow Hinduism ?

Abrahaminising is not a good analogy what raitas are trying to do is turning hinduism to athiesm.
