The fight against Undyne really is the turning point where Toby Fox forces you to understand that your character ceases to be the hero and is now the villain.
papyrus and toriel are basically the game asking you if you really want to do this undyne is the game showing you the consequences of your actions, at this point the game isnt trying to ASK you to stop, the game is now trying to make you stop

But even then, while that determination strengthened her resolve, it was also killing her. No matter how hard she fought, she never had a chance, and that's the sad part.
She is not the only the hero of the timeline . But the hero of the entire multiverse of timelines you have made . She litterally broke the game`s stats . She litterally saves a one timeline (save file) every time she kill us . Not only that , but she survives Chara`s hack inposable attacks . What`s so great about this fight is that , Undyne doesn`t fight only for the monsters and humans , but for everything in existence . Imagen being so powerfull game character that you are being cappable of blocking the player`s hacks.
But determination takes undyne in the end-- what the monsters did to become monsters is still-- unforgiveable if only you knew...its hinted at. the other kids who fell all their souls-- hearts taken and used.

The reason why Undyne feels so much for cooking is because of, lets call them "Green." A young, but kind girl, who never even thought to harm a monster. But Undyne had no choice. She was the only one involved who knew enough to want it to not go forth, but was also wishing it not to do so as well. Both Green and Asgore's strong hearts and souls would not change. With great sorrow within, but a bright smile, like those in those manga heroes and heroines she loved from the stories a friend had shared with her. She walked the path. If she has any regrets, its that she didn't learn more from Green. But its fine, I'll just learn the rest on my own! I'll spare no flame and learn it at the hardest difficulty! ...So she may have thought among the many thoughts interspersed with dull inaction and sorrowful walking. The seed of Determination had been sowed. But it could not grow yet. The greatest battles are always inside. A true hero doesn't need to fight. Just like that "Mighty" hero from that random manga with the powerful punches... or something? Thus, Undyne's heart both softens and hardened at the same time. The one with the sorrowful face, hat and empty gun. The one who layed traps without intent to harm, but just to move forward. She had to take them out too. But the last one, was the worst for Undyne. The one who danced yet never fought. Undyne herself didn't know if she could take another time. She steeled herself the best she could. And then... *RED* appeared. Determination. One way or another, this one was dangerous, yet also a symbole of hope. Much like all those anime. Well, may as well look cool, right? I know, I'll suplex one of those rocks that are all over the place, show off to that human! Perhaps she thought such. Who knows, right? In the end, the Determination of Frisk is what determines what happens next. Were he unkind and cruel, then Undyne's Determination awakens in full, and a great battle occurs for the fate of monsterkind, and perhaps also all others too upon the world. Were he not, then Undyne cannot fully commit to the battle, and ends up second guessing herself enough to allow the human to escape. Becoming upset with herself, she chases after, but her mind wanders again. In the end, she just tires herself out. When did she come to the hot area? Ugh, definitely should have asked alphys for that heat-resistant suit after all, even if it was uncool... Seriously... less than 3m/10ft to a nice water cooler and this is how it is.... **SPLASH**

Untill the genocide run, where you are the REAL monster and the actual monsters try to stand up and protect their kingdom and their species as a whole and you are murdering them for no reason. Undyne is the TRUE hero of this story. You are the bad guy and the one treating this world as a game.
Not just monsters but humans too. In the genocide both humans and monsters are in danger. Undyne is hopes and dreams of both humans and monsters and the one where the earth refused to die. And Sans is a determination. He is different and still a mystery. Lot of questions unanswered.

It was our choice the genocide route had to occur. But Chara knew something that because we have seen all that happens in this and how everyone suffered he knew we might never do this again and we will only do pacifist. He knew this and took advantage of this and decided to fix everything. Even after a true reset, our sins does not go away. Why I said that is because at the end of pacifist route after genocide route, Chara suddenly takes control over us and kills everyone (Or is this probably because we give him our soul at the end of genocide?). This is the post pacifist ending and you should definitely check it out and the difference between two choices at the end of pacifist. Therefore the conclusion is both Chara and us are evil but the genocide route is our fault and our choice. I'm sorry became too long before I even knew it.

It always gives me chills to think how Undertale is set up so the player who pursues the Genocide run begins to question themselves and Feel like a terrible monster that is always growing stronger no matter how many times you beat it.
I think I figured out what the original was missing! Following the tune itself for the chorus. You did that, and I love this version even better for it. No offense to Alex and Mippa, though.
It's amazing how you get across how much pain she's in near the end. Like she's audibly struggling to hold herself together, to not break in the face of death.
I can imagine Undertale just being a dnd game, and the dm is getting mad their players continue to murderhobo, so he turns one of his npc’s that would have normally done nothing into a hero with the best equipment the town could give, to protect that very town from the murderhobos. The dm really wants the campaign to just end so he overtunes the fight bigtime, but the murderhobos have an insane amount of meta-knowledge and win the fight, so the game goes on anyway. The players say they actually really enjoyed the fight, so he begins to plan the finale with the determination to end the campaign once and for all.
"Slight"? I mean, the cadance through the song outside of the chorus pretty much gives away how it's a struggle with how it's quick sentences followed by a breathing pause that one is pretty slight. But by the end? The character is pretty blatantly out of breath, speaks exactly like someone who is physically exhausted with hearth racing but trying to speak anyway

I definitely prefer your version better than the Man on the internet version (not to discredit them). The backing track is better and your vocal performance is astonishing. Still hate that line “I’m the hero and your the bad guy” but everything else is 10/10. Definitely coming back to this one

can I add the fact that Undyne becomes Undyning because she becomes DETERMINED to defeat you stand against you and win even though things look grim. Sans he continues to fight for the kings sake so Asgore can take the 6 human souls and defeat you once and for all, Sans who uses his patience and Justice to hold out long enough, these are the only 2 characters who manage to use the power of DT and they are the only 2 who stand up and fight you against all odds to win.
I love the parts where You give 100% of Yourself, especially when I hear You're going away from mic like in 1:04 ("...the light of day again") or 1:30 ("...as You take Your last breath") or the biggest - 2:22 ("...I refuse to die!") GOOSEBUMPS

Thinking on it now, I really like the idea of undyne. Somebody so determined to protect everyone they literally defy death to fight and defeat a foe they know will kill everything if they get past.
When i said undyne is weak I meant she's easy to fight even with rather weak/decent reflexes. Especially if you know the pattern, no hitting is almost an easy thing depending on luck

How haven’t I found this sooner, this is my favorite fight and music in undertale. I’ve lost count of how many times I listened to battle against a true hero. You capture the emotion so well and your voice is so powerful. This is literally perfect.

This is a cover I absolutely cannot handle. MOTI quality lyrics, orchestral and choral arrangement, and most of all that downright _powerful_ delivery on every note. It’s been years and I honestly still cry every time I listen to the entire thing.

It always gives me chills to think how Undertale is set up so the player who pursues the Genocide run begins to question themselves and Feel like a terrible monster that is always growing stronger no matter how many times you beat it.

I think I figured out what the original was missing! Following the tune itself for the chorus. You did that, and I love this version even better for it. No offense to Alex and Mippa, though.
The second half really suits the fight with how desperate and *determined* it is, and this voice also suits Undyne really well! Amazing work.

It's amazing how you get across how much pain she's in near the end. Like she's audibly struggling to hold herself together, to not break in the face of death.

I can imagine Undertale just being a dnd game, and the dm is getting mad their players continue to murderhobo, so he turns one of his npc’s that would have normally done nothing into a hero with the best equipment the town could give, to protect that very town from the murderhobos. The dm really wants the campaign to just end so he overtunes the fight bigtime, but the murderhobos have an insane amount of meta-knowledge and win the fight, so the game goes on anyway. The players say they actually really enjoyed the fight, so he begins to plan the finale with the determination to end the campaign once and for all.

"Slight"? I mean, the cadance through the song outside of the chorus pretty much gives away how it's a struggle with how it's quick sentences followed by a breathing pause that one is pretty slight. But by the end? The character is pretty blatantly out of breath, speaks exactly like someone who is physically exhausted with hearth racing but trying to speak anyway
I thought it was a coincidence at first, but every time I listen to this song, I get chills. It can't be an accident. Your voice and the delivery of the lines is making me shiver. Fantastic job, god damn!

I definitely prefer your version better than the Man on the internet version (not to discredit them). The backing track is better and your vocal performance is astonishing. Still hate that line “I’m the hero and your the bad guy” but everything else is 10/10. Definitely coming back to this one

I absolutely hate that line, but i haven't found a good replacement that rhymes and fits "And tonight i refuse to die!" which is my favorite line in this whole thing

can I add the fact that Undyne becomes Undyning because she becomes DETERMINED to defeat you stand against you and win even though things look grim. Sans he continues to fight for the kings sake so Asgore can take the 6 human souls and defeat you once and for all, Sans who uses his patience and Justice to hold out long enough, these are the only 2 characters who manage to use the power of DT and they are the only 2 who stand up and fight you against all odds to win.
