    Hi everyone! As some of you suggested, I added a map scale and a system length counter to the video. Thank you for some great suggestions!
    I also included future expansion plans that are *currently under construction* (lines that are in the planning stage will not appear). Thanks for watching!

    It's interesting that several lines connect directly to the CTRM suburban rail system, which is similar to the Japanese subway system. It is also interesting to note that the original names of the lines were "East-West Line" and "North-South Line," which gives a sense of familiarity. (This is because these two line names are often seen in Japanese subways.)

      CPTM lines were built starting in 1800s and works similar to JR main lines. Unfortunally we stop building railways since 1950s, so we don't have many lines and subway through service, like Tokyo private railways.

    • @Nomuum
      @Nomuum 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It makes sense when a metro system is in its infancy to give geographical references to the line's names. But when the system grows beyond the third or fourth line, this easiness vanishes.
      So, one starts to use (or uses only) letters and/or numbers, in many cases associating them to colors, in some cases using names. It says a lot about the histories of all these systems.

    I loved this video, thank you!
    However, I'd like to complement it with some information not included or which received an update after its publication:
    - The infill Sé station was opened at Line 1 in 1978, four years after the line's opening;
    - Until 1999 CPTM mantained a suburban train service between Amador Bueno and the city of Mairinque;
    - Before 2000, Line 11 used to have a different route between Itaquera and Guaianases. In 2000, CPTM permanently closed several of its infill stations, moved the Itaquera-Guaianases stretch to the south and opened three new stations;
    - Line 12 permanently closed some infill stations in the late 90s;
    - Between 2010 and 2014, the operational extension (Itapevi-Amador Bueno) of Line 8 was closed for renovation, and two of its stations (Ambuitá and Cimenrita) were deactivated and demolished;
    - In Line 4, the infill stations Fradique Coutinho, Higienópolis-Mackenzie, and Oscar Freire were opened between 2014 (the former) and 2018 (the middle and the latter);
    - In 2018, Lines 5 and 17 had their operation conceded to the private Via Mobilidade consortium;
    - Line 13 includes an express service between Luz (beyond the main line extension, sharing the westernmost stretches of Lines 11 and 12) and Aeroporto-Guarulhos;
    - In 2019, Lines 7 and 11 had their operational extensions unified to their main services;
    - In 2021, Lines 7 and 10 were unified into 710 Service;
    - In the same year, Lines 8 and 9 had their operation conceded to the private Via Mobilidade 8 & 9;
    - In Line 9, only Mendes-Vila Natal station (renamed to Bruno Covas-Mendes-Vila Natal in memory of the late mayor of São Paulo) and the infill João Dias were opened. Varginha was postponed to 2023;
    - The estimates to opening Line 17 were postponed to an undefined date again, due to the incoming termination of the construction consortium contract;
    - Jardim Aeroporto and Congonhas stations (L17) were respectively renamed to Washington Luís and Aeroporto de Congonhas;
    - There is a municipal BRT service, called Expresso Tiradentes, connecting the BRT stations Parque Dom Pedro, Sacomã, and Vila Prudente;
    - The expansions of Lines 11 and 13 to Palmeiras-Barra Funda and Line 15 to Jacu-Pêssego are likely to open before 2026;
    - The construction of an automatic people mover line connecting Line 13 to Guarulhos Airport is also likely to finish before 2026.

If he wants to make a follow up or remake for this video it would be best for him to ask you for the facts kkkll. I saw them resume construction on line 17 while I was there. • @robfbms
      @robfbms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@siahsargus2013 Thanks too!
      Future plans which are closer to concretize are: expanding Line 2 (Penha/São Paulo - Dutra/Guarulhos), expanding L5 (Jardim Ângela - Capão Redondo and Chácara Klabin - Ipiranga), expanding L6 (Brasilândia - Bandeirantes, on hold while the main section is in progress), expanding L13 (Engenheiro Goulart - Palmeiras-Barra Funda), L14 (Bonsucesso/Guarulhos - Jardim Irene/Santo André), expanding L15 (Ipiranga - Vila Prudente and Jardim Colonial - Hospital Cidade Tiradentes), L16 (Oscar Freire - Cidade Tiradentes), expanding L17 (São Paulo-Morumbi - Morumbi and Washington Luís - Jabaquara, both on hold while the first section is not truly resumed and finished), L19 (Anhangabaú/São Paulo - Bosque Maia/Guarulhos, with Campo Belo - Anhangabaú section project on hold), L20 (Santa Marina/São Paulo - Santo André, with Santa Marina - Saúde being likely the first section to be built) and L22 (Sumaré/São Paulo - Cotia, with Sumaré - Granja Viana being likely the first section to be built).
      About L17, unfortunately its construction is paused again, because its construction consortium deliberately gave up and stopped the works, thus its contract will be terminated soon).

      @@ClearFontainePifilcan85 I never said they were, I just said that the "rapid transit system" should include both the Metro and CPTM lines, due to their heavy integration (one ticket means unlimited free transfers between them), and is wrong to assume they're not part of the same "system," different types for the same system.

      @@MihzvolWuriar Okay, but if we consider that it is the same system, then the Santiago de Chile metro would be a single system by integrating urban trains, such as the "Central Alameda Nos train", and the "RED system" of solar electric buses, which are also fast, since they both use the same payment card and are connected.
      The problem is that in Sao Paulo they believe that their metro is the longest in Latin America (with 104 km), but they include the train to increase its length to 377 km. But in Chile the train is not included to say that the Santiago metro is the longest in Latin America (149 km). Nor that the state is building two new metro lines, and two new local train services.

      @@ClearFontainePifilcan85 I really don't care about who's the biggest mate, that's useless information.
      And let's keep within the topic here, buses are not trains, São Paulo has many integrated bus lines with the metro/cptm system, and you didn't see anyone linking them in.
      And the good information here is simple, with one ticked, you could use both, so they're must be seen *as one system,* since they're both fast, tracked transport systems, and that includes the new monorail lines being completed, they work the same system despite being different categories, and, transport wise, while informing how good you could use the transport system in a city, they should be included in same integrated system.
      Again, IDGAF about size, but how they work, in this case, they work together, so they should be shown together.

      @@MihzvolWuriar Entonces, según tu propio standard, la "información simple" esta tergiversada, no es correcta respecto a Sao Paulo.
      El sistema de Santiago con 3 diferentes servicios de trenes integrados (Melitren, Batuco - Valparaíso y Alameda - Nos) es entonces mas grande que el de Brasil y los brasileños y quienes les creen, deberían dejar de mentir.
      Debes saber también que el sistema de buses RED de Santiago, similar al de China, con sus modernos, buses solares y eléctricos que van por una vía separada, es en tramos breves, tan rápido como el tren, ya que tu hablaste de "Transporte Rápido" e integrado.
      Lo mismo ocurre con el sistema de buses y tranvías de la ciudad de Quito y el nuevo sistema de buses de Lima. transportes altamente rápidos e integrados a un mismo sistema.
      Pero los brasileños solo deberían dejar de mentir respecto al tren disfrazado de metro y aceptar que su país con inmensos recursos y una megalópolis como Sao Paulo, no ha logrado tener un sistema de transporte mínimamente acorde a su tamaño, (porque se roban la plata),como lo tiene Santiago con una empresa estatal y una población de solo 5 millones.
