      @@user-ob7ln5vi6j i have no doubts things are going faster in first tier Indian cities, but the Chinese specificity i'm talking about is their unique ability to provide far more to second and third tier cities, the distribution of resources seems more "egalitarian" across the board. Plus access to the network for the general Chinese population is guaranteed by more reasonable prices. So far, India seems to have among the most expensive Metros on the planet, adjusted to India per capita incomes

    Due to the blurred meaning of the word "metro", you may have noticed that one or another rapid transit system is missing in the video. Therefore, I recommend that you read the article on which the entire video is based - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_metro_systems

      True, many systems are really on the borderline, such as Fortaleza (included) and Seville (not included) and Tyne & Wear, Newcastle (not included), just to name a few. Sources tend to disagree on those, making it difficult to make a proper listing. Personally I would have included most of the 'light metro' systems as well, which are listed here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium-capacity_rail_system#List_of_medium-capacity_rail_systems

      A w ogóle, to dobrze, że tak późno je wybudowano, bo dzięki temu jest nowoczesne. Mam prawdziwe poczucie luksusu jeżdżąc warszawskim metrem.

      Está muito confuso porque o termo "metrô" é amplo, cada lugar tem uma definição. Exemplo, metrô significa literalmente um transporte metropolitano sob trilhos que ligam regiões de uma só cidade ou de liga várias cidades como ligar cidades de região metropolitana para a cidade principal do aglomerado, mas pra algumas pessoas só contam os subterrâneos, porém não faz sentido. São Paulo por exemplo, tem uma malha ferroviária de transporte metropolitano de trens de 377km, mas de metrô é 103km sendo que todas as estações são interligadas não faz sentido separar. Nesse vídeo 8 cidades do Brasil tem metrô, mas na realidade são 12. O vídeo deixou de fora vários sistemas do México, Brasil, Espanha, Venezuela e etc.

    • @totre-hv5jb
      @totre-hv5jb 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@williamthierry5976 la confusión con el metro de Valencia viene porque existe el metro como tal pero se usa el mismo material rodante y se aprovechó infraestructura antigua para conectar los pueblos del área metropolitana directamente con el centro de la ciudad. Aparte de esto Valencia tiene una red de tren interurbano de superficie de 5 líneas. Decir que ese sistema no es metro es como decir que España no tiene trenes de alta velocidad porque comparte vías con trenes que viajan a 150 km/h. Además incluye sistemas como el de Monterrey o Guadalajara que no son realmente metro o Medellín u San Juan.

If you include commuter rail (that just opened), the airport link now (30km) and the monorail system, the total length in Bangkok will be 275 km. If all goes well, Bangkok will have 540 km of urban railway within 2030 (IMO 2040 is more realistic)

      Metros don't have to be underground. The first line of what would become the NYC Subway was the 9th Avenue El, which opened in 1868. Like London, Chicago, and many other cities on the list, the line was not upgraded to "Metro" standards until later on. Of course, all of that is moot since the Ninth Avenue Line was demolished in 1940.

The Volvat station was also built underground. In 1966 the eastern part was built with the third rail. But the trains had the same size and when Stortinget was built there were no issues joining the two networks as they were pretty similar.

    Would’ve been interesting to have an overlay in the later decades of EXACTLY how interconnected to INTERCITY (and for the closest spaced regions, commuter/regional) rail lines within the country (or the entire continent in Western EU’s case).
    At least streetcars & varying standards of BRT are currently BLOWING UP in the US. As well as plentiful 1980s-90s era LRT systems most likely to get most of their rolling stock substantially replaced before the decade is out. To American standards, that’s a transit boom on our end…
    LA in particular should focus ALL new metro lines/stations along the I-5 & I-405 corridors, with the Bay Area doing absolutely whatever they can to expand accordingly for the folks that live in the Central Valley (as BART appears to moreso be a “regional/commuter/suburban” based system as opposed to a traditional metro) as in recent decades, plentiful Silicon Valley workers live that particular direction due to RIDICULOUS living costs within the Bay Area itself.
