Nice video. One that you did not mention about the controls that I found out while playing is that if you hover over a resource node (like trees or berry bushes) you can pull up the radial menu and place a mill or camp at that spot without having to click on a villager to do so, the game will just automatically send the nearest (often idle if no presets are used) villager to build it.
There’s also multitasking villagers on a building if you hover over the foundation you’re building and pull up the radial, you can add more villagers to that foundation.
These are just two pretty useful things for controller players to keep in mind and I think it’s quite a nice solution to the overall slower camera movement while using a controller in comparison with mouse and keyboard on the pc version.
Additionally, unlike AOE2 for console there is no optional cross play between console and pc users at this time.

You are right about auto scout. But you CAN hotkey build houses by holding X instead of tapping Y like in AOE 2. Weird they changed it but yeah I can see why you missed it

Does anyone know if This offers a way to play a quick game where the city is already built for you? Some times I don't have hours to play games and may only have 30 min or less. Thanks

Yes. Empire Wars is available (just go into game modes and choose Empire Wars instead of Standard)It skips the early stages of each game and starts every player with more resources and a pre-built town.

It was just different. AOE 3 is set in the settling of America timeframe. I'm talking guns, trains, Steamworks, etc. It also had completely new mechanics never before done in a real time strategy, so to many it felt like a black sheep of the trilogy. That along with AOE 3 being so graphically impressive and demanding that it won the best graphics award in 2005. Meaning it even beat non real time strategy games. Not alot of people had PC's that could fully utilize it without issues. The definitive edition is likely to come to xbox in the future.

@@TheBurningcage27- Just bought AOE 4 for my Series X last night, haven’t played it yet. How do you like it on console? I’m nervous about using a controller but the vast majority of comments I’ve read say they did a great job adapting the controls to controller play.
