Very useful thank you. Out of all the information out there on the Ortur Rotary and how to set it up, this video has been the most helpful

Bless you... I was really frustrated trying to figure out how to get it to work. I still have the problem that it thinks it's position is way off at -28 for the X and Y axis and off the charted territory for the burn. However, setting the origin seems to be a quick fix for that. Additionally, the text was all mirrored (found that switch as well....) .... oh.... and I had to remember to rotate the text 90 degrees. All newbie mistakes.

    Hi
Good video, but the one thing you didn’t explain was, how did you work out your rotary axis mm per rotation (your original figure before minor adjustment) are people just wrapping something around it and then measuring that or is there a maths way of calculating this, On my version of lightburn it’s set at 360 mm per rotation?

Hi. Instead of changing every time the parameters (homing cycle and soft limits) is it possible to create two separate devices, one for 'normal' usage and one for 'rotary' usage ?

Do you have to change the settings each time you use a different diameter item? I noticed after doing the setup that on a smaller diameter cup due to a taper that my design becamer squished.

      Wondering the same thing.

Yes, you always have to input the diameter of the item you're using.

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy that's a pain. Need to make that a tab instead of a separate window.

Tried to get this Ortur rotary roller working with my Sculpfun S9 but the roller step motor won't turn. It just vibrates. Any thoughts on the problem?

stepper wiring is wrong, switch around cables and it will run just fine.

Strange, i followed multiple tutorials on TH-cam (all basically the same) on how to set up a Rotary Roller for Ortur Master 2. Disconnect the cable from the motor and set up the Lightburn. When i enabled the rotary, turned off soft limits,it causes one thing. When i cicked anywhere on the working area in Lightburn just to navigate the laser on that location, The laser starts to go on the right side and after reaching a frame, it didnt stop. It was just trying to go even further i thought it was going to brake. It just went crazy. But to get ti the point. How is this possible, that my roller Works absolutelly great If i just only unolug the cable and plug the roller in. No changes in Lightburn. Everything just stays Like without the roller. The roller isnt even enabled and it Works Like a charm. Any suggestions?

@@jeffbeck163 hi my friend, i just ignored the tutorial and used the roller without setting it in the lightburn. It worked perfectly. It is true that i felt something must be wrong but.... It just worked :)
