Had ablation on the left side of my neck this morn Oct 15, 2024. Very pleasant procedure. Dr gave me pain pill and pill for relaxation before procedure. Felt nothing except a little stinging with numbing solution like going to dentist. My dr very caring and gentle. I thank the Lord most of all I prayed first and asked him to send me to a good dr. Always ask for pills for pain and relaxation makes a huge difference. A good dr will do everything they can to keep you pain free. Looking forward to having my right side done in 2 weeks
I had a doctor talk to me about this procedure . I've been sleeping sitting up for a year . He wants to do the lower spine also in three nerves. I got in a car accident when I was 15 yrs. old the car rolled six times. Broke every rib left lateral. Then 15 yrs. later I was sitting at a red light and a guy came off the freeway and barreled into me from behind and ruined my neck . 🙏 Prayers for everyone's pain.
I’m having mine next week! I’m a truck driver and was in a bad accident (was hit from behind by a commercial van.) I’ve tried ever to get relief. This is my last hope
Glad they're taking care of you. I have symptoms exactly like the lady in the video. I've been pleading with the VA for a couple of years to do this procedure or straight surgery. I've had physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and finally opioids which didn't work and only got me hooked on opioids. I finally got a community care appointment at a civilian pain clinic but it's depressingly far in the future. And I don't know how long I'll be able to cope with 24 hour pain if they turn me away.☹
I have had this done several times and it does help. However, they say the pain is gone in 2 days. This is BS. I had my left neck done Aug 27 2019 and the right done on Sept 3. The last time I had it done I had extreme pain for 3 weeks after the procedure. It is now Sept 8 and still have pain in my left side but it had diminished immensely. My right side is still a major issue for me, especially if I have a lot of upper body movement. These procedures do work but you should know that they are not instant. I have lower back pain as well and the left neck RF has totally removed that issue already. The right is still being persistent although the headaches have finally diminished. What they are not telling you is that it takes the nerve a while to die. They continue fighting to repair themselves until they finally give up. Hope this helps those of you contemplating the surgery. Yes, this is a good procedure but you need to go into it knowing what you are in for. If you have any questions you are more than welcome to contact me.
@@tinat.k.2012 It is 10/22 and the pain has been gone from my neck for a few weeks now. I found out that the extreme headaches i had been having were from a cervical rib that was out. It is out again now but I dont feel the neck pain and headache that I was feeling so the burn is doing its job :) They are a great help but they are not immediate relief.
@@lovedragonsrobertakistler3250 Thankyou for the update. My doc just gave me a prescription of Hydrocodone and said "you'll need these for after the procedure" LMAO. No biggie, I've needed them before the procedure as well. May I ask a favor please, please reply to me here when/if the treatment wears off.
She's basically described my kind of pain (gets worse when laying on pillow, pain moves to occipital headaches, stiff neck) - been that way for 10 years now but it's getting worse recently. But I've had an MRI and I don't have a slipped disc, just minor deterioration of the C2, C3, C4 vertebrae. I'll stick with strengthening, stretching, massage, ointments and NSAIDs and see how it goes. But I'm so glad there is this option in the future for me if the pain is too much
Oct 24, 2024 its been 9 days since my ablation on left side of neck. I have some pain kind of a headache kind. Dr said it may take up to 14 days for pain to go away and for nerves to die. Having right side done in 5 days looking forward to it.
I'm awaiting my Rhizotomy date as I've responded to the numbing procedures. My question is, if one no longer feels the pain he/she will move the neck more than with the pain. This would cause more stress on the already over burdened facet joints. How many times can this be done and how much will it accelerate the damage to the neck before a fusing is needed? I'm only 50, can I do this every year for the next 20-30 years?
Is it normal for a patient to wake up during the middle of a bilateral 2-4 cervical ablation and go beast mode on the table? This is my 4th or 5th ablation on top of the 9 epidurals, now Im having random pains in my neck, shoulder blades, my cheeks and face with fuzzy vision and nausea a worse migraine that pounds harder than before, my neck bones or joints feel almost bruised they're so sore its limited my neck mobility, do you have any idea what to do next
I had this done bout 2 months ago in my neck bilateral. it has really help alot on my neck pain. I can say about 65% improvement. almost 70. but what I have or what I'm experience right now are some sharp pin neddle pain stinks come and go on my neck, I wonder if this go away ?
@@datsuntoyy I've only had it done so far one time and it still working.. And I was getting trigger point injections every 6 weeks.. When you first go in for your first visit they will numb a certain area in your spine to try to pinpoint where you hurt at.. It took me 3 visits for them to find it..
Im so depres with my pain qnd feel hopeless. Hope my dr still want to help me to continue my RFA after my bteak mental issues from my thoracic chronic pain. And hope the nerve who causing pain is right one that he looking for, but he say he will moving to down to different spot to find the nerve until he found the right one. I got injury/pain from aggresive chiropractor who adjusted me.
Having this done tomorrow and can't happen soon enough. I've had chronic pain since 2010 and it's getting worse. First neck surgery of 3 done in spring of 2010. Second surgery was in the fall of 2010v and last one fine in 2015. Have 3 levels fused and even opiates are not helping relieve my pain. I'm typical taking, the Government make you get two test shots 2 weeks apart and real shot 2 more weeks later. I can't get this done soon enough as I'm freaking in really bad shape..... Federal Government is prohibiting patients with chronic pain from opiate treatments. How cruel is it to let people hurt this bad and not allow them to have medication that actually helps. I some times wonder if the Federal Govt want you to go to street drugs as if they are getting paid a royalty from the drug cartels.
Hey hey im 20 years old and i have some neck pain that is on going and im about to do medial branch block and the doctor said id it worked they'll do the rfa. However my pain isn't that bad, it does hurt and disturbing but I wouldn't say its severe ! Im afraid that the doctor might have interpreted my description of the pain in a wrong way will it be dangerous?
sam Kay you might want to first get xrays if you haven't already and try physical therapy or Google exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles in your neck. Depending on the type of pain and if you have had xrays, the Dr might have seen the onset of osteoarthritis which unfortunately is wear and tear of the cartilage and you can be almost bone on bone which causes nerve pain/spasming. These are some things you might want to bring up with your Dr? If you aren't confident and or comfortable with feedback given, ask to be referred to another specialist who can help ease your concerns with information and understanding exactly what is happening with your neck and the multiple options the are out there. They can also use botox to treat cronic nerve pain, steroid injections etc. Good luck! :)
I had this procedure 3 weeks ago, I’m no better off. It can take time I was told. Such a great cost for no gain. I was not given a diagnostic injection first however...
I believe this is to be expected for a week or two after the procedure. Didn't they give you any pain meds? My Dr is talking to me about this, but I have not had it done yet.
chiropractor works def but you have to seek a very very good one not just a 20 dollar adjustment or even expensive ones is hard to find. this injections will work too if given at the area that is producing pain but expensive and it will work but not cure. i will if i had the cash
bad luck with Chiropractors. the "snap" hurts imensely when they adjust my neck and is extremely sore for days after. Then it returns to the "normal" pain level of before.
