This is awesome, I purchased my box truck 2 months ago initially I’d been doing appliances the last 5 years some things didn’t work out, insurance cost being too high considering I’m 23, hence I’d already been running my own business with a partner but recently decided to split.(insurance was under his name at the time) Anywho now I’m looking to do just dock to dock loads so this helps a lot with getting familiar with what it’s like, appreciate the videos!
It’s a terrible time to get in. I hope you don’t have a truck payment. Because if you do and you have other debt like rent or mortgage and the need to support a family back home it’s pretty much game over from the start. Insurance, truck payment and fuel will pretty much take most of your profits. I know because I am new to the game with zero debt and no truck payment but still see only small margin of profit. I also self dispatch even as a new authority. But if you can survive while a lot can’t, when things get better you’re golden. Good luck.

That Cummins ISB is thirsty. My Paccar PX-7 in my Peterbilt straight truck is currently averaging around 12 mpg. Driving behavior also matters a lot. Don’t need to be the fastest guy on the highway. What you don’t spend you keep as profit.
@mikepoor6397 I get 8.2 per gallon and I never allow my tanks to be below quarter tank from previous trucking experiences. I also use a fuel calculator to determine the amount of fuel I will use per run.

How many miles do you get on a full tank?
About 300 miles at a average speed of 68 miles per hour
@@Milesinabox if it’s an 80 gallon tank that would mean you’re getting around 3.6 miles a gallon 🤔

@@Milesinabox 8.2 x 80= 656 miles on a full tank, not 300
I have 2 50 gallon tanks and I'm still trying to figure out how much my truck makes per gallon
were you from?
