He definitely reminded me of the frank gorshin riddler/ Cesar Romero joker. I know a lot of fans hated it at the time and do now but I thought it was hilarious and it was great to see him really have fun with it. It seemed like he really enjoyed doing that.
No way bro said ratings will sky rocket. EDGE (Adam Copeland) came to AEW with a SLIGHT ratings boost. And you think just because Sting paints his face a different style and makes jokes that it will have a major increase? Hilarious.
Ric Flair is still part of the old guard gatekeepers of the "business". When Sting/Steve started, he didn't know anything about pro-wrestling. He was a bodybuilder with potential. Learned the business and became a legend. When Flair dropped the title to Sting in the summer of 1990, he passed the torch.
Flair said if Sting woulda went to work for Vince, say in the Ultimate Warrior spot, Sting woulda been the biggest star ever. Like imagine if Warrior was a better worker, could cut a promo, and wasn’t insane. Sting was Vince’s wet dream.
This made me cry 🥹🥹 thank you Sting and RIP Bad Guy. ❤ Both yall made my childhood great, not only for entertainment but for making it a family thing. I have some if the best memories with my maamaw because of them.
@Yroko I certainly think STING made an impact on the kids growing up. But I always like the "Ring technicians." The face paint gimmicks and shit like that just wasn't for me. Too me, Bret Hart, Dean Malenko and sad to say, Chris Benoit, we're brawlers and wrestlers. The "Warriors" and Sting of the Era, were impactful. I just liked real wrestling long before WCW made wrestling seem real. But STING is an icon. I'm just old school.
If you haven't seen hom wrestle, then you should check Kazushi Sakuraba. His UWFi matches with Tamura are the greatest technical wrestling you'll ever see. He was trained by Billy Robinson and is a legend in MMA as well
The fact he announced his final match and TK brought Naitch in the next week speaks volumes about the respect he has for The Icon and what he's done for this business.
Sting really is the Icon of wrestling. Dude's definitely not the biggest cross over star, but he's been a consistent draw amongst Wrestling fans his entire career. Great promo.
I'm a Boston guy so I grew up on WWF. However, missing Sting was my biggest regret. Luckily I got to see hime when I started following WCW in late 1997.
Massachusetts native here: I didn't get to watch WCW until the first time I visited my grandma's house in Texas, 1996. My mind was absolutely blown at the entire other half of the wrestling world I was missing. From there on, I watched consistently.
I remember watching Sting back in the NWA days of the early 1980's when he would often team up with Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner! The young Legion of Doom, The Road Warriors! And when they got together they were the Brothers In Paint! Those were the best days of wrestling after the Big Time Wrestling days of my youth during the 1960's & 70"s, before Sting was wrestling.
I actually like joker Sting I thought that was a pretty funny character that he played. He did that character pretty well. But I first got introduced to Sting. When he was doing the crow Sting. Then wolfpack Sting. Then back to regular Sting. Sting was my favorite wrestler in WCW. When I was growing up. I watched him in TNA. Then when he came finally to WWE I thought that was awesome. But but he would be one of the wrestlers. I would always love to get a picture with and meet
My 2 favourites when I first started watching American pro wrestling at age 10 (grew up in the UK in the 80s so my intro to wrestling was WoS on ITV) Sting and Undertaker
Sting is my favorite wrestler all-time 💯💯💯 I was him for Halloween one year as a kid loved it painted my face and all lol loved it never forget it went around acting pretending to be him 😂
Goddamn I love sting and I am so happy that I have the chance to watch his final matches in AEW and seeing him go out the way he wanted to not the way wwe did him, this man is a legend. I say there’s only two gods of wrestling and that’s Sting and the Undertaker, I’ve been a fan of sting since the first time he showed up wearing the black and white facepaint that’s when I started watching wrestling and wcw was my favorite Monday night show… this man has been wrestling at the highest caliber for 40 years.. 40 years!!!! I really hope AEW does something like they did for Jericho’s 30 years with a whole show of all the young wrestlers saying what he meant to them and wrestling, and they should do the same for sting I would love to see that!!!
Crow Sting was Batman during thr WCW. He took on Hogan and the NWO what seemed like alone at times. Been my favorite since i first saw him lower from the rafters
I really respect people like sting and Undertaker, because they always passed it forward, giving the newer generation the leadership and training, just like they got from someone when they entered the business. And im sure people like sting or taker could have been the top guy for much longer than they were, but they didn't buy into all the stingy & cheap ways of playing politics to keep others down, and keep their little group at the top. Unlike many of the top guys who played politics, trying to keep others out of the spotlight, and squashing them, so they could remain the top talent well past their prime, and well past their ability to draw as the top person. And if they wouldn't get their way, they would take their ball and go home.
Joker Sting is my favorite sting sure i was super young when he was Joker sting but i watch that Character of his on youtube a lot out of all the Stings joker sting is the best Character he did for me personally
Joker Sting was an absolute treat to watch, played that role so well!
You took the words right out mouth it was different and I loved it from him
He definitely reminded me of the frank gorshin riddler/ Cesar Romero joker. I know a lot of fans hated it at the time and do now but I thought it was hilarious and it was great to see him really have fun with it. It seemed like he really enjoyed doing that.
it’s crazy that it’s not really remembered fondly by everybody. it was tna after all i suppose
If Jim Carry was Sting and Joker we wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
Sting was doing some great work, he genuinely jumped personalities and it was awesome
Sting really has had a hell of a career.
Mad respect to sting for paying homage to those who paved the way for him 👍🏽🤝🏽🔥
I totally agree with you on that
@@patrickmadison7301somewhat brought the wrestling fans down memory lane.
Bro has literally longest active career of all of his contemporaries
I saw sting when he wrestled with a tag partner in Mid South wrestling in the early 80's. When he finally showed up in WCW I was thrilled!
@@danielmclaughlin8622ive never seen pre wcw sting, early 90s sting and Ric are my earliest clear memories
@@danielmclaughlin8622best part of that, that tag partner was the ultimate warrior
@soul_hero never liked ultimate warrior. Turned out he was a crappy wrestler with a great gimmic.
@@danielmclaughlin8622 most from that were terrible, most of them had their best work in the 2000s anyway
Just another example of how sting is a class act and the greatest wrestler of all time!!!!!
Those Surfer Sting vs Ric Flair matches were always epic
saw 1 saw them all
RIP Scott Hall.
RIP to The Bad Guy
Sting is a legend who has always maintained who he really is...The shit❤
Sting, you're a freaking legend, the Man, The icon, Topman Stinger, 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Sting is a All time great when its said and done. An absolute Legend 💯
Sting let MJF know what history means to him and the fans!
I could imagine the two talking beforehand and MJF encouraging Sting to mention some names and go down memory lane.
😁
The man is my most favorite wrestler of all time🎉
If sting brings his joker Gimmick to aew like he did on Impact those ratings will skyrocket. He was entertaining af.
He has a few times. And I love it.
Lmao. Bro said ratings will skyrocket 🤣 yeah ok. Pray on that
Lmao at ratings will skyrocket 😂
No way bro said ratings will sky rocket. EDGE (Adam Copeland) came to AEW with a SLIGHT ratings boost. And you think just because Sting paints his face a different style and makes jokes that it will have a major increase? Hilarious.
Nothing is moving those ratings, brother 😂
Gotta love Sting! Grateful to those who built him and helping now the next generation. Respect to that! Wooooo!
Sting has an immeasurable amount of respect for the Nature Boy.

Bruh the stinger splash and scorpion death drop are legend moves
Scorpion death lock was his original finisher. Him and Brett Hart do it the best.
Calling out Flair and Scott hall was much appreciated. Both legends. Not a Sting fan but he really made a point.
Can I ask you why you’re not a Sting fan? I mean we all have wrestlers to support but just want to share your opinion and/or thoughts?
Damn! How can you not be a fan of any of Sting’s characters?
Love to hear the guys opinion on why he isn't a sting fan. I genuinely like to know. Plz comment.🤘

He was WCW undertaker always pulled a crowd and entertained but under rated in the goat convo.
God, when you lay it all out like that you realize how on top of things Sting has been for so long.
Lmao love you Kevin love you Scott..... the fucking tiny pause for the shoehorn beard blonde brother that didn't get a mention hahahahah
Ngl even though I wasn’t big on WCW when I was a kid, Sting and DDP were always my guys👌🏾
