    I could understand You. I am from Holland (The Netherlands) and we speak Dutch. This is not the same language as Deutsch, which is German. (Often mixed up in USA). But I do understand German (Deutsch) and I could easily understand you.

      Guzzi venture... The dialect that the Amish speak is a hybrid language, a mixture of German and English, We. Spoke it at home when I was. Youngster,

    Is that harvester engine powered or powered by the motion of the horses?

  • @dazedconfuzed6

    I don't get it, why use horse to drive a machine that is engine powered? Why not use a tractor? Spelled Holmes county wrong btw.

      Amish still allow certain things not to be used. People confuse Amish and Mennonites a lot.

    I'm not sure what kind of Amish these folks are. They are using rubber tires, which is typically forbidden in every Amish community I've ever seen and there's a tractor pulling the grain wagon, which I've never seen.

      Pat Carmody No straw hats, they're allowing pictures, probably New Order Mennonites

    • @jnsmill
      @jnsmill 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pat Carmody ...... you need to realize that not all Amish are the same, there are many different kinds.

    • @samshublom8761
      @samshublom8761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are "New Order" Amish around, Sugarcreek, Ohio. They use rubber tires on horse drawn farm equipment, but don't use tractors or drive cars. Little more progressive than Old Order Amish, but not as much as Amish Mennonites.

      Jennifer Murphy Actualy Jennifer if you drive through amish country you will see the horses are in the pasture roughly 90% of the time. I work closely with the amish here in the Norwich ontario, which do more with the horses than they do in ohio.(eg they dont use engines for runing the combine They use wheels to run the macines) In all the years that I have worked with them I found that the horses look forward to working actualy they quite get exited when they know when they are going to work .
