    i'm not sure if this bug still exists, but in one of tony advanced's videos about magma droppers, tony demonstrates that sometimes when hot magma condenses into a relatively cool debris pile, the temperature doesn't actually average out, but rather the heat from the magma just gets deleted by the cold debris pile.
    if you have a relatively cool debris pile near the end of your magma blade, that might be what's happening.

      I think this is exactly what is happening. Good call.

    So, I've noticed the bug with the critters too, but rather than having to restart, I simply put a high priority wrangle order on the critter, and a rancher will come and quickly wrangle them, to be dropped off at the critter drop off right next to them, and the next critter in line jumps up on the table to be groomed. It's kind of a silly little work around, and requires that I check in with the stable once a cycle, but if you're already restarting anyway, maybe it'll help make things a bit quicker.

    you can cut the power used by "filters" by using "shut offs" instead with some element sensors before hand. basically set it to the ideal filtered item, like, your hydrogen, and set the pipes up to take hydrogen where you want it - then put a 'not hydrogen' flow off to the side, into a container, infinite storage, or just vent into the world. This way , it only uses 10w power when the detected "filtered' item is found, and everything else takes nothing. Extreme power savings when done right, but does take a little practice to get it set up properly. (you want it to hit the element sensor and then right next to it be the shut off, and contenue the loop for the 'other' as 1 solid piece, meanwhile the 'filtered' gets the seperated pipe.) always make sure you have plenty of room for the 'not filtered' and it doesn't clog!

    Been watching your channel for a good bit of time but I never found a good opportunity to comment, but I think that I found one.
    On your inverted asteroid a way that you could get rid of the lava is have a bunch of pitcher pumps and auto sweepers, and have the sweepers dump the lava into bottle emptiers in the vacuum of space. The only downside being that of every now and then you will have to lower the sweepers and pumps.
    P.S love your videos keep it up.

    People were using radbolt rockets to create infinite nuclear waste, to fix this, Klei put in a cost to launch the rockets. In short, you should always treat it as -1 for range, because it will eat 1 tile when launching.
    Hope this helps, Echo!

    • @EchoRidgeGaming
      @EchoRidgeGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made the 20 tiles in the petroleum rocket, so I guess this is only for Radbolt rockets. Thanks for the tip!

    • @salemprompthous3820
      @salemprompthous3820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The launch costs only apply when going to orbit, but are negated when target is set beyond orbit. Should be applied to all engines, not just rads, as any and all engines had the free launch bug, but not anymore. Launching steam engines could give infinite water, only primed with some sieved pH2O, on planetoids with no H2O geysers. It was magnificent, but glad it got removed xD (setting up a steam-rocket shaft still works as in the olden days of pre-dlc, though, as the launch sequence pumps out it's exaust during a launch through the full height of a planetoid, without additional fuel costs)

    best set to get rid of magma here: diamond/tungsten/steel temp-shift plate connected to steam turbines. thing is that most of that magma is not that far from becoming ignious rock, and that is already a win, Stupidly hot rock is easier to deal with than fluid. Set of temp-shift plate and dripper will make all the magma into debris, and it will end up as 300 tons give or take to siphon all of that heat. After that you have 300 tons of super hot igni rock, which with some rails, will power your colony here for ~2000 cycles.
    that solution is best because if its dripping blade, you wont have to mine, its skips mining part, also you have twice the hot fun to deal with later on.
    only downside is that this is stupidly water intensive, as you need full tiles of (ideally of 3 high steam room) or otherwise you wont be able to deal with that stupid amount of heat spikes that this might make.

    Petrolium rockets, like steam engines, produce their own power while in flight/not landed, so the solar panels are redundant, unless it's meant for colonization

    Good evening Echo! I thought you made good progress this episode, and you didn't let safety slow your dupes down. I was wondering why the interplanetary launchers are in petroleum? Thanks for another great episode!

    • @salemprompthous3820
      @salemprompthous3820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Launchers sitting in petrolium transfers their heat, so they stay cool and won't melt. They also won't superheat their contents before launching them to other planetoids, which they have done for me a couple times (loaded with phosphorite, but had phosphorous delivered 🤣)

    • @EchoRidgeGaming
