I found that drinking a table spoon of apple cider vinegar, helps my ic!!! also i will be symptom free if i drink A lot of water everyday, if i go some days with drinking less water i will feel symptoms come back! so water and vinegar are my GO TO Things to take my symptoms away!

This makes total sense because when you become dehydrated, your urine becomes more concentrated and potentially irritating! - Jill

I've had IC for 7 years, and I hated the side effects of elmiron so I stopped taking and worked to control it by diet. Increasing my water intake has limited my flareups to only a couple of time a years. I drink tap water, and try to stay away from water that has lots of potassium. My flareups seem to occur when I do not drink enough water.

The "hint" waters taste realy good! But, they are expensive, about $2.75 a bottle! Yikes! I bought a water infuster, looks like a brita but you put berries or what ever flavor you want to infuse into the water. Great flavor and much cheaper...
One more thing, water is HUGE in releaving bladder pain, it makes a big difference for me....My worst is soy sauce, if I drink extra water it REALLY helps.

Was wondering. Dole has started to make a 100% pineapple juice. Just pineapple with nothing else added. I tried it (just a few gulps at a time) and it didn't seem to bother me. What do you think? Also I had a serious flare from (I believe) a new type of tums called Cherry Chews... I was wondering why and then I saw that they contained sorbitol... I think sorbitol has bothered me in the past so now I just stick with regular tums.

I honestly think that the only reason my IC hasn't gotten worse is because I'm such a big water drinker. Funny thing is I don't like any bottled water only tap will do for me. After hearing this I'll definitely keep on drinking my water which I love anyway. When I went to the Dr and told him that I only drank water he looked at me like he didn't believe me and he says even diet soda is bad and I said I don't even like diet soda which is true.
