Remember, it's about the quantity of acid or other irritants consumed. Most patients can tolerate a low acid apple very easily... I eat one a day, usually Fuji or Gala. Despite the hype about potassium, the big IC diet research studies actually found that banana is very comforting and soothing... a fact that I can also confirm. I've never had a flare from eating bananas.. and the same with pecans. So, it's really about trial and error. For a snack bar, these are fabulous!
I often hear this. IC is often a nutrition wake up call and it often makes us re-evaluate our diet to remove some of the quick, junk foods that are often very irritating to the bladder. I've worked with some women who have literally never bought a fresh vegetable.. or who think that the only variety of apples are red or green. So, it can be a shock as well. I guess you'll just need to try to find the healthiest, lowest acid versions of the foods that you do like!
the frustrating thing is I don't live in the USA, and most information and suggestions for not just food but treatments and alternatives as well are just not applicable for here.

You are very welcome!
Apple? Banana? Pecan? Peanut- Larabars? How well are these ingredients tolerated given the IC diet foods list?

I know... I'm sorry!
