Nice getaway weekend and the cabin is a nice change from a hotel room. Great seeing around the town and all the book stores. The soap stone carvings were beautiful. Enjoyed watching your video.
I peel my bananas at the stem. Dogs plus books is always a good thing! Those chaotic book stores always stress me out! Ink wells does seem like a happy medium. That cabin is really cute, love the porch chairs!
Oh my gosh Sherri, this cabin is exactly what I pictured in The Great Alone. Maybe a little smaller, because I remember the kitchen was more separated. But seriously gave me flashbacks to that book!
All three bookstores looked super fun, but not gonna lie. I was having anxiety worrying about an earthquake while you were in the last one! Glad that didn't happen...that would've been a whole other kind of vlog!
Fun my brother lives in soldotna and also has a cabin on an island there. We visited and loved going to alieska...we saw a moose in the rain our first night driving into kenai reserve! We loved watching salmon fly..whittier..at coopers landing we had coffee at a small coffee bus and saw beautiful rainbow in summer..we went. by boat to fox island for crab leg feast and nature talk...also to cades cove which shari would love its an artists cove and has cool restaurant on the rocks bY the water..and shops at homer and halibut fishin and beach there is the best!!! We even loved fredmurray I need to come back!!!! I think we ate at that pizza place also if it is right by the road maybe we ate in sterling tho i think it was. Love watching your alaska videos. Donna
If you ever visit Columbus, Ohio, not sure why you ever would, but you went to Cincy, so you never know. You MUST visit the Book Loft. It has so many books, and it like a maze of rooms full of books. Seems right up your alley.
I peel bananas from the stem. Puppies love tummy rubbies (at least my service dog definitely does!)! The other day, our daughter said, “You REALLY like Alaska!”. I’ve been to 49 states (all but Hawaii), but I talk about the adventures I had while in Alaska more than any other state. Alaska is the biggest small town! I love that! Thank you for taking me along!
Love this, no squirrels don't hibernate they are homotherms meaning their body temp. stays pretty much the same year around no matter the weather. That is why squirrels spend all winter collecting food and storing it away so they can eat during the winter.
Thanks for sharing your trip to Soldotna it is always interesting and fun with you and Sherri on both long and short trips. Take care and stay safe and warm ❤️ 👍🙏
What a fun adventure! Those book stores looked AH MAZE ING! I love how you find all of the "off the beaten path" places. It really encourages me to get out and explore more. Also, I must say Sherri, your hair looks great.
As huge as Alaska is, it sure feels like a small town when running into friends all over the state. Bethany’s Mom and I were in the International Women’s Choir together. I usually drive straight through Soldotna and head to Homer. It appears there are a few necessary stops there. If I’m that far south then Homer is the destination. Thanks for the reminder to stop and enjoy the journey. ❤❤
The burgundy bag I saw on the coffee table I thought I saw you talk about that in a previous packing video and I have been trying to find it. Do you remember where you got it?
Those bookstores are insane! I bet you could spend all day just exploring. And can you show us how you open the banana? Because I can’t understand how you do it! 😂
We have a "pet" squirrel we call bob because he only has half a tail. He lives in our backyard in the valley and visits almost every day. He will get on the tree and look into our window. He is pretty fat now ( he steals birdseed) I may or may not give him some bread now and then.
ALL JOKING ASIDE. Squirrels don’t hibernate. They just store up food & hide it everywhere .. We are under a tornado watch. The clouds outside our farm look like it is trying to form a funnel cloud. I just found out west of us 7 miles cloud rotation was spotted. I have been saying with the mild weather we had here that Spring would explode with thunderstorms & tornadoes. I hope im wrong . Love that little cabin. GOD BLESS FROM WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸😊🚜
Oh Adam I have a book you may like to read. I will have to get the title and author from my mom. The author was a teacher in alaska in the 60s-70s I believe and crazy thing, my mom worked at a nursing home a couple years ago and he had made to Virginia where we live and was in the nursing home and got to talk with my mom about stories of his life in alaska and as he was passing he told my mom that being able to tell her about his journey and having someone know everything he was talking about made his life worth it and he wasn't scared to pass cuz he knew she would keep telling his stories. And she has. So cool and amazing. Oh our town even put an article in our newspaper about him and my mom getting to know each other.
Red squirrels are so much better than the greys. Yes they do sleep during winter. Maybe they wake up early or don’t. Sleep. The reds are smaller and cuter, greys kill the reds.
Ooooh I think I could easily spend a whole day in that bookstore.
It’s so much fun travelling with you on your weekend getaways! I really enjoy getting to see Alaska and all it’s beauty. Thanks for sharing
Sherri-I had those little books and LOVED them. I haven’t thought about them in years!
Looks sooo cold!! Love the wildlife though. Looked like bookstore heaven down there. Thanks for sharing

Love fun trips like these. I can see Sherri owning and having a bookstore!
I am so going to a bookstore tomorrow and they had better have a dog. 😊
I just love how you show a day in the life. And i appreciate how you explain everything. Thank you!

Hi guys✋🏾 I peel my banana from the stem🍌😉 Great video! Puppies🐶 and books📕, a winning combination👏🏾🤗🤗

I live in Florida the squirrels don't hibernate here! 🤣 I peel bananas by the stem 🍌
I really like the clock. I peel my banana from the stem.
Sherri, I really like your dark hair color.
Have you read into the wild ?

Peel from the bottom… you don’t get the “strings”
Also, have you ever watched monkeys and other primates peel a banana?
I peel from the bottom. It is easier in my opinion. Also monkeys peel from the bottom and not the stem. Read that in a national geographic one time.
Red squirrels are so much better than the greys. Yes they do sleep during winter. Maybe they wake up early or don’t. Sleep. The reds are smaller and cuter, greys kill the reds.
They should change the name of this town from Soldotna to Rich-White-Knight-Save-A-Hoe city.
