Hi Shumba Thank you for your comment. Within the WEST SYSTEM product range the WEST SYSTEM 207 Special Coating Hardener is formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin for coating applications where a transparent finish is desired and provides exceptional clarity of wood grain. 207 contains an ultraviolet inhibitor to protect the 105/207 mix against sunlight. However, the cured epoxy surface still requires long-term UV protection with a quality two part marine varnish containing a UV inhibitor. The ultraviolet inhibitor within the 207 hardener does give the mixed epoxy a yellow, amber colour. Regards, WSI Technical Team
Hi Dennis Thank you for your comment. WEST SYSTEM epoxy does not have the required certification to water potable standards and therefore we are unable to recommend its use in that application. Regards, WSI Technical Team
Hi great video I am buying a 21 Foot Hartley half cabin boat i am going to strip the hull back to bare wood can i put your epoxy system straight on or what should i do first. Thanks Farmer
Hi Farmer Thank you for your comment. Whether coating, bonding, fairing or applying fabrics, the success of the application depends not only on the strength of the epoxy, but also on how well the epoxy adheres to the surface to which it is applied. It is advantageous to apply the epoxy direct to the substrate once previous coating have been removed and the appropriate surface preparation has been completed. Timber surfaces should be clean, dry and thoroughly abraded. Further details can be found in our free WEST SYSTEM User Manual and Product Catalogue. WSI Technical Team
Hi Shackles WEST SYSTEM epoxy can be pigmented with WEST SYSTEM 502 Black pigment or WEST SYSTEM 423 Graphite Powder. Further details on all of the available additives within the product range can be found on our website. www.westsysteminternational.com/en/west-system/west-system-additives
West System International WSI ok thanks. I'm applying to osb plywood under my fifthwheel bedroom slide. The fabric is coming off so a good water proof seal is needed.
Why is my 207 drying amber? and why is it like yours in this video amber in the container?
