Actually, this Dieppe raid actually happened pretty much as the tutorial showed. It was a poorly designed battleplan, Louis Mountbatten can be directly blamed for that.
I think most people actually acknowledge that. I don't think it is common to specificy different states, just like you don't hear about Texas or California specified.
@@Helyzz82 The main difference is that Canada at that time was still a country of its own. It could decide if it wanted to be in the war or not, it decided to. Contributions of most of the Commonwealth dominions are really overlooked, because the most of them did quite a bit with the limited ressources they had.

I think one of the major differences between this and Radio Commander is how they do unit morale, among other things. In Radio General, morale is treated more like in recent Total War games where it depletes when in combat and 0 morale will make the unit rout before rallying again. In Radio Commander, morale is treated as a second health bar. If it reaches 0, your unit deserts or surrenders (I guess) and is considered lost and destroyed. You can get missions where you get 1 KIA and 4 wounded from your unit but get a mission failed because the unit 'dies' as its morale reaches zero. I dont think either is superior though. I think this is one gameplay element that plays its role in making the theme of each game different.

Fun Fact: Also Re: American involvement, the U.S. Army Rangers who were there that day have been almost completely ignored by history. Fifty soldiers were drawn from the 1st Ranger Battalion for the raid. They mostly helped with the assault on the artillery on Dieppe's flanks. The Rangers’ contribution was smaller, but on a proportional level their losses were just as brutal. The rangers had a 73% casualty rate. Of the 50 that were drawn, due to problems with landing craft, only 15 actually landed. 3 were killed, 3 were captured, and 5 were wounded.

Canada was in Italy, in Dieppe, they spearheaded the campaign in the Netherlands, they had their own beach in Normandy. Canada has accomplished more than enough in WW2 to warrant their own game.

Its more the Sea Lords fault. Mountbatten wanted a battleship but the Sea lord wouldn't allow it due to risk of air attack.

There were 50 American Army Rangers that went to fight at Dieppe to get combat experience.

You lose the game if you use "Roger" or "Copy" indirectly.
