This is the kind of movie you can watch many times and still get more out of it. I only recently realized that the ghost girl saved her younger sister's life.
A lot of people miss that. It’s that background line “the younger one has started getting sick now”. People assume she wanted justice, but she actually wanted to save her sister.
I love this movie so much. One of my all-time favorites. And one of those rare surprise ending movies where it gets even better when you watch it knowing the secret. I always start tearing up at the last couple of scenes -- and my favorite is when Cole reveals his secret to his mother and then proves that he's telling the truth. And the very ending, when Malcolm tells his wife, "I think I can go now. Things will be different in the morning." Such a beautiful, bittersweet ending. A lovely reaction from you, as always.
It’s hard to overstate how much difference it will make to Cole’s life that his mother knows what’s happening, as well as Cole’s own clearly improved handling of the ghosts themselves. Like how he says they’re the ones that USED TO hurt me, and how he’s having a friendly chat with the burned lady and doesn’t seem at all scared. He’s clearly going to be ok. He’s not going to go down the path of Vincent.
Not only did Malcolm help Cole understand and embrace his gift, but he also helped all of the souls that Cole was able to help. Malcolm realized this at the end, when he knelt next to his wife and said "I just had to do a couple things". "Listen to them" was the key phrase of the entire movie.
My favorite moment in the entire movie, and one i never see anyone else mention, is the scene where Cole's mom is pushing him in the shopping cart outside the store. It's one of the only times we see him look genuinely happy. The two of them are together, it's a beautiful day, and they just both seem so happy. It only works because of the context of the rest of the film, but I love it.
The boy actor, Hailey Joel Osmant, who portrayed the main character Cole in the movie is a fantastic actor. After filming this movie Bruce Willis said that Hailey Joel Osmant was by far the most professional actor that he'd ever had the pleasure of working with. Indeed Hailey Joel Osmant, especially in his childhood, was a very great actor who always went above and beyond what any director he's ever worked with could have possibly hoped for. This is one of his best performances. But he's also great in many of his movies, like: Forest Gump as Gump's son, towards the end of the iconic movie, AI, artificial intelligence, where he plays an android child perfectly, Pay It Forward, and Second Hand Lions, just to name a few . But he's now grown up and he's still acting. He's also doing voice acting for animated series such as the popular animated series Family Guy and others. He's by all accounts, the exception to the rule of successful child actors self-distructing after their childhood is spent.
It’s really a genius move to just cut to Bruce Willis sitting on the bench after being shot. Cause the viewer has one question, “did he die?”. And immediately you’re answered, no he’s still alive. And ya don’t think twice about it.
The thing I noticed, it says "The next fall". Everyone assumes it means the same as "One year later" like pretty much every movie. For all we know, he could have gotten shot a week or 2 before that moment, even just a couple days. In the beginning Anna remarks that it's getting cold, so it could have been that period right before full fledged fall with the hot days & cooler nights. And that's why he missed the appointment with Cole.
Still couldn't help but cry, with that one scene when they have a conversation in the car, and her Mother was already proud of her as a ghost, and never wanted to miss the chance in watching her dance. Everytime 😢
Elena, now you'll know what people are talking about when they whisper, "I see dead people" whenever something spooky is happening. I'm glad you got a chance to see this film. It's one of the best when it comes to twist endings. Another film by the same director that also has a surprising twist is "The Village".
Thank you, Elena. This film was an amazing experience the first time I saw it. Your reactions were perfect. To get to experience it again through your eyes. I know that I will cry everytime, and I held my breath after Cole told his mom about Grandma, because of what comes next. I always cry for Malcolm, but this time I cried for you too. Don’t worry about bad dreams. Everything will be better in the morning. Good night, Elena.
One of the best movies of all time. A classic. The OG of twist endings. Great natural reaction. I hate it when reactors 25 years later who obviously have heard about the twist PRETEND to be surprised. You were genuine. M Night plays a small role in every one of his movies and in this one, he was the doctor. Great singing voice, btw.
I went to see this in the cinema when it came out. You should have heard the collective gasp of everyone in the cinema when the big reveal came at the end. Best twist ending ever. If you watch it a second time you will see a different movie than when you watched it the first time.
That’s what I love about it. Especially Anna. She goes from estranged and angry to mourning. You see Cole’s reactions to Malcolm in the context that he is a ghost, but not a scary one. It’s fantastic filmmaking.
I'm glad you mentioned the beautiful music in this film. I recently bought tickets to see the Philadelphia Orchestra in a concert called "Night After Night", hosted by M. Night Shyamalan and conducted by composer James Newton Howard. I am so excited!
Theres lots of hints to the ultimate twist at the end that become more apparent on rewatches. You will notice that Malcolm never speaks with anyone else after he is shot. He never interacts with anyone else. Any time he does no one else interacts with him (like the meeting on his anniversary at the restaurant or when he speaks with Cole at his home). He never changes clothes, always wearing the same outfit that he died in. Anna's behaviour appears aloof and that she's thinking of leaving him turns to her actually being in mourning. And yet still many people were completely caught off-guard.
I just wanted to say that I'm so glad that I clicked on you not only are you beautiful but most importantly your receptive and intuitive and I really like your emotion I'll continue to watch you
Oh this was his first role? I didn't realize that he did so good I guess I need to watch all the Saw movies I have only seen the first one and part of the second one but I didn't recognize him it's been a long time and I only saw a little bit of the second one I didn't keep up with them so I didn't bother to watch them lol but I guess I will have to take some time out to watch them in order
Much sadness, lots of tears, yet it was a happy ending! Cole and his mother found peace and understanding. They can now live and be happy without any fear. Anna found peace, as she finally accepted Malcom's passing. She can go on with her life and find love again. Malcom found peace, as he accepted the truth of his passing. He can now go on to....somewhere else?
Apparently Bruce Willis is naturally left handed but learned to write things using his right hand for this film. Feeling it would help conceal the fact he wasn't wearing his wedding ring.
Haley Joel Osment has been acting since the age of 4. I recommend a movie from 1996 that he did when he was very young called "Bogus." It's about a little boy who has an imaginary friend named Bogus, who is played by French actor Gérard Depardieu. It also stars Whoopi Goldberg. 😊
1. Haley Joel Osment played Forrestt Gump Jr, in "AI" and absolutely kills in this.🤩 2. I first knew when he met his wife when she was morning him alone at the anniversary meal. Only one place setting. 🧐 3. I watched my now ex to see when she got it but she never picked it up until the reveal. 4. They help each other. 5. Cole knew he wouldn't see Malcolm again. 6. Cole to Malcolm, "How can you help me, if you don't believe me?" "Some magic's real". 7. A fun movie for review of a Bruce Willis is, "The Last Boy Scout". HINT HINT 8. Missing you Bruce.😢
If you haven't seen them, M Night Shyamalan also did Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and Samuel l Jackson, Split with James McAvoy, and Glass with all three of them. It's a trilogy, and it's really good.
If you enjoy this movie, I suggest you watch these: The Others, Shutter Island, Donnie Darko, The Village, Jacob's Ladder's Ladder, Vanilla Sky, The Mist, and Before I Wake.
All M night shamaylan movies should be watched specially The Village, Signs, his last 2, and in order, unbreakable, Split, Mr. Glass!😮😮😮Always look for the off colors, in his movies! The killer mom has munschausens by proxy syndrome, and she's wearing a red dress and bright red lipstick!
When you're talking, you're not listening. I won't watch the "reaction" of someone who's not giving the film their full attention; you trying to compose your next sentence is not you reacting to this film. I'm out of here at 5:50 and won't be back. No subscription, no like. Good luck.
👇Ur favourite phrase from this movie👇
Every day
Tommy sucked a big time
I see white people.
Do I make you proud?❤
"They don't have meetings about rainbows", except, of course, now they do.
This is the kind of movie you can watch many times and still get more out of it. I only recently realized that the ghost girl saved her younger sister's life.
A lot of people miss that. It’s that background line “the younger one has started getting sick now”. People assume she wanted justice, but she actually wanted to save her sister.
Now you should listen to what Cole said in Latin when Malcolm entered the church.
That is the first real big clue that Malcolm is a ghost.
The last two scenes of this movie are some of the most memorable scenes I’ve ever seen.

He also more recently played Mesmer in "The Boys."
At the end, he wasn't necessarily mad but he was feeling extreme emotions enough to bring down the temperature in the house.
It’s really a genius move to just cut to Bruce Willis sitting on the bench after being shot. Cause the viewer has one question, “did he die?”. And immediately you’re answered, no he’s still alive. And ya don’t think twice about it.
Throughout, they really made excellent use of our expectations of how stories are told in film, in order to subvert them.
Even though the phone is off the hook and his wife spends so much time crying about what happened instead of calling 911 to possibly save him.
Call 911 to save him? SPOILER at the end of the movie you'll see he died less than a minute (give or take a few seconds) after he was shot.
The thing I noticed, it says "The next fall". Everyone assumes it means the same as "One year later" like pretty much every movie. 28:16 "Don't be so mad at him....... You know your boy are special."😬 😂😂😂

i think you covered everything i wanted to say lol
SO HAPPY to see you watched this film! LOVED your reaction! 👍☺

I still can’t believe that Vincent is played by Donnie Wahlberg!!!
I'm glad you mentioned the beautiful music in this film. I recently bought tickets to see the Philadelphia Orchestra in a concert called "Night After Night", hosted by M. Night Shyamalan and
conducted by composer James Newton Howard. I am so excited!
I really think Toni Collette’s is the standout performance in this. She breaks my heart over and over.

The end really hit you hard. Glad you got to watch this movie , Was nice watching with you
Another amazing reaction and your hair is so beautiful Elena ❤❤😁😁.
Love This Superb Performance's From EVERYONE Should Have WON Oscar For Best Film & Best Supporting Actor
Love your reactions, Elena.
When he gives away the fact he is dead early on in the movie. The boy asks if he is a good doctor, and he says "not anymore."
Not true he has no idea he is dead.
A fantastic reaction to a great film!
I just wanted to say that I'm so glad that I clicked on you not only are you beautiful but most importantly your receptive and intuitive and I really like your emotion I'll continue to watch you
I remember seeing this for the first time and didn't expect that twist.
The guy in bathroom is Mark Wahlberg brother in his first movie role. Is really good in SAW 2 thru 4 as well
Oh this was his first role? I didn't realize that he did so good I guess I need to watch all the Saw movies I have only seen the first one and part of the second one but I didn't recognize him it's been a long time and I only saw a little bit of the second one I didn't keep up with them so I didn't bother to watch them lol but I guess I will have to take some time out to watch them in order
He’s also in dream catcher movie to. Played duddits
He was also in Band of Brothers just a few years after this. Looked completely different.
His name is Donnie and he was one of the original members of NKOTB and had still been acting since this movie.
The ghost in the recording said in Spanish "Save me, save me. I don't want to die".
Apparently Bruce Willis is naturally left handed but learned to write things using his right hand for this film. Feeling it would help conceal the fact he wasn't wearing his wedding ring.
no wonder his writing is like a 7 yr old haha, I'm left handed and I write the same way when I use my right hand.
Out of all of M. Night Shyamalan movies, this one is by far my favorite.
Perfect reaction to this film!
Unbreakable next.. It's a must. And it also stars Bruce Willis (though not as the same character)
P.S. This was a great reaction. 😁
Hi !!
Love this movie, i like character n scripts. ❤❤
M.Night comeo as the doctor.. like when he’s in his own movies. Lady in the water is
His longest role.
I love your *mysterious wind" impression!
I love your "mysterious wind " impression!
You really need to react to more Bruce Willis. Die Hard (3) With A Vengeance, Mercury Rising, Striking Distance, Last Boy Scout, Die Hard 4.0
If you don't cry/show emotions at the right time... stop being "strong". This was a fun adventure with you. Thank you.
1. Haley Joel Osment played Forrestt Gump Jr, in "AI" and absolutely kills in this.🤩
2. I first knew when he met his wife when she was morning him alone at the anniversary meal. Only one place setting. 🧐
HINT HINT
8. Missing you Bruce.😢
Now, watch Bruce Willis again in Die Hard with a Vengeance. It's totally worth it 👌.
This was a very good movie.
If you haven't seen them, M Night Shyamalan also did Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and Samuel l Jackson, Split with James McAvoy, and Glass with all three of them. It's a trilogy, and it's really good.
You have a Tokyo shirt on for this review. Can I recommend Tampopo? You will never forget it. Best wishes😅
Agreed, Tampopo is WONDERFUL! And I've never seen anyone react to it.
A great one!
Excellent reaction sweetheart.
You should follow this with Ghost (1990).
Another great Bruce Willis movie is Tears of the Sun please consider watching that one
Next M. Night Shyamalan movie go to watch is"Signs"👍
Absolutely.
Nice. Signs, and Lady in the Water and The Village are 3 other great movies by this same film maker.
If you enjoy this movie, I suggest you watch these: The Others, Shutter Island, Donnie Darko, The Village, Jacob's Ladder's Ladder, Vanilla Sky, The Mist, and Before I Wake.
I love your accent. Great movie.
❤
I love your accent :) especially when you say shit haha. Great reaction video!
The use of res is used throughout the movie
"What a tweeest". 🤗
All of the ghosts died a violent death.
Who was that singing at the outro?
The stripped guy in the bathroom that shot Malcolm is played by Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block and "Blue Bloods" Barely recognized him!!
Bravo.
Who wears red to a funeral for a child?
The murderer, that's who!
the kid knew he was a ghost.. he feels them "im going to see you again" etc...... so the rest of the film is a little odd on rewatching
Hint hint, you have to add some twists and stuff to stories. Ha ha
You need to react to The Green Mile ASAP..
The musical CATS is famous for being pretty bad so saying it's better than CATS isn't much of a compliment😅
when Robocop?
do you have sixth sense elena?
do: watch die hard 3.
do not: ever watch trailers. they're dumb.
hello gorgeous
Why are you not teaching anymore?
When you're talking, you're not listening. I won't watch the "reaction" of someone who's not giving the film their full attention;
you trying to compose your next sentence is not you reacting to this film.
I'm out of here at 5:50 and won't be back. No subscription, no like.
