    I honestly can say that this is probably one of my more favorite TH-cam channel. I love watching people able to fix things that others would probably not even bother with. I just think it's amazing how you are able to repair things not having all the different tools that we have here in the States. I'm not even a professional mechanic and I could say I easily got $20,000 worth of tools in my garage if not more. Even with all that I don't believe that I could fix some of the things you tackle.
    I've been following you for a long time and I always make sure to hit the like button and of course I've already been subscribing to your channel.
    I look forward to seeing what you get yourself into next.

    Pakistan gets a lot of bad press in the West, mainly for political reasons, but these guys are amazing. What they can do, with little or no safety equipment, and mostly hand tools, is astonishing. You could call them the world's best shade tree mechanics. Engine and driveline work, frame repair, body work, springs, bearings -- nothing is off the table. Notice that the damaged truck was held in place on the flatbed, with only a couple of large rocks? It worked, and that's what matters.

      I notice in all these Pakistani truck vids, that the workers are all young. I wonder if it’s because they all get injured, and can’t return to work. These guys do incredible work, but seeing them beating on punches & chisels, using cutting torches and grinders, and no safety glasses or face shields anywhere, working around all this heavy steel while wearing sandals, holding a punch while someone else whales away on it with a sledgehammer etc.. I bet this place goes through employees at an alarming rate! A person would probably be lucky to work there 3 months without losing an eye, crushing a foot, or other serious injury! They do some awesome work though!

      You have to remember that through regulations, the United States government has basically forced the American truck driver to give up on rebuilding, recycling and reusing older equipment. Today's cars, trucks, appliances and other material items are built for a specified obsolescence.

    • @TheRoadhammer379
      @TheRoadhammer379 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattberg6816, you obviously don't understand the salvage and "rebuildable" title in the United States. There is an entire multi billion dollar industry here in the rebuildable/salvage market that includes semi trucks, cars and pickup trucks. A salvage titled vehicle doesn't incur higher insurance premiums, lmfao. Every state has a rigorous process for registering and insuring salvage vehicles, which includes a much more stringent vehicle inspection of a salvage titled vehicle. Insurance companies auction off thousands of wrecked/rebuildable vehicles every year in the United States, it's a lucrative market.

    it cool to see , that unlike here in canada, a wreck like these , are not cut up for scrap , but get a complete restoration ,, with what we would call primitive tools and methods, yet, to watch the processes you use, is any thing but primitive, more like we have relied on machine tools and have lost the knowledge to use simple but effective tools to accomplish a task ,

    • @iBackshift
      @iBackshift 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      An unlearned person would say "primitive". hahaha, im Canadian and dont include me in "(we) would call primitive". There is not one thing primitive about this; how else would one straighten a frame? Its not even "old fashioned". Here in Canada, the insurance company writes this off because the labor cost to fix is 20x (im just guessing) of what these "smiths" do in Pakistan. We get paid $40/hour, they get paid $40/month. There is just no more kind of "Smithing" trade in N.America, not for over 30 years. The unlearned would equate a ("bygone era in Canada" = "primitive") when there is nothing primitive about it. Even today's modern body shops have anchors in the floor to chain a chassis down and tug straight with chainfall. My observation, the reality is these "Smiths" in Pakistan have skills do do work that tradespeople here in Canada....dont; that is gone and lost with the generation of my parents. Their frame press makes me *drool*, the possibilities of $$ i would make with that.

      @@iBackshift Joe, you are right, the cost of labor is a joke in India and Pakistan. I feel for those folks who are taken advantage of. The 'Boss' walks around with his big belly and his white suit while the workers work there tails off in often terrible conditions. Can you imagine working 12 hours per day in 100 degree temperature and 90 percent humidity? I doubt they get more than one day a week off and as you said $40.00 per month. To me that sounds like slave wages. I would like to hire the whole crew, bring them over set them up to rebuild trucks and have them go at it! If you could pay them $10.00 per hour each it would be a Bargen! They would feel RICH!

    • @iBackshift
      @iBackshift 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bobordewald1367 they would feel rich until they had to pay the first month rent in N.America. Then it wouldnt be any different other than the location. People jammed into a living quarter making enough to eat expensive food, pay expensive accommodations and have nothing left over but crumbs. They're doing alright over there or they would be doing work to make ends meet.
