The History Behind Bully Scholarship Edition's DISASTROUS Launch......

- After Bully's release in October 2006, Rockstar were unsure that Bully ever met it's "full" potential, due to the release date, being extremely late into the PS2 life cycle. So, they wanted a remaster for the (then) next-gen consoles.

Ha, ha. Spot on, chap.
Got this back in '09 for the Xbox 360. Didn't have internet or Xbox live so I played with the 1.0 unpatched version for a while.
I remember when I went to class, Jimmy would sit in his desk and do a full 360 spin before starting.
Still happens on my digital 360 copy 😂
LMAOOOOOO he does that still to this day on the Xbox version it’s hilarious
HE STILL DOES THAT LOL
I play the game today and he still does it
Ummm... Sounds reasonable. If he did 180 spin, that could be kinda wrong. He SHOULD do 360 spin on 360.
XD
bully deserves second game and good remastered so much
I still don't understand why we haven't made an indie game in the same vein. It can be done. I just don't have the know how.
I play this game an awful lot for it to be as old as it is.
Same even with its bugs
Same here. The PS2 original is my favourite
Thanks for a great date jimmy
In the last 9 years, a summer intern could have fixed the Win 10 bug and probably a number of game-breaking bugs in their classic games that are still for sale on Steam. But Rockstar chooses not to prioritize fixing these bugs. I know why they don't (they're *terrible* at project/resource management), but if I didn't, I'd think R* is contemptuous of me and their fanbase.
Or maybe they're just working on more relevant things
I don't know if it's an earlier build per se, but I definitely get the vibe the scholarship edition was like the video game equivalent of a restored extended cut of a movie. In restoring a lot of the cut content, I'm sure they ended up bringing over a lot of other unused content with it that they just left loose in the files. Wii version in particular is just an expanded PS2 version and I feel that's why it's less buggy - it isn't rebuilding the visuals and more from the ground-up like the 360, it basically just feels like a straight port of the original + some cut classes/missions and less compressed freeroam dialogue.
The people who got the files just left all of the unused content in. Kind of like how the team behind the mobile port of SA remastered the unused HUD icons. They didn't know they were unused, they just did it.
i genuinely do not remember the bad KB/M controls for the PC version as a kid.
What's really weird is how bad they are now.
Maybe it's a windows 10 thing? But it isn't because i've actually tried playing this on Windows 7 recently on a old laptop of mine and the problems were there still. So I'm using a mod that fixes the KB/M controls.
They were always bad, whoever ported this game to PC did a pretty awful job
and I thought I was the only one who found these controls super awkward especially during fights
Nathan's back booooys
bully’s always been a comfort game to me, i’m from the new england area so the environments and seasons feel very home like
Why is rockstar always handing remasters off to 3rd parties and giving them an in development build
Likely because they wanted to demonstrate how awesome their original games were 😂
Because they are busy.
@@TheSultan1470 they have 4 separate studios who don't make any games, why not dedicate one of them to doing remasters with high quality
@@justanotheranimeprofilepic ...too busy being Wokeh.

4:07 - Is that johnny? Why does he look so weird?
Beta face
it's his beta or alpha look i believe
Silent singlehandedly fixed all Rockstar's games in 3d era on pc
Why did it never come out on PS3
think cuz they were already hard at work on the xbox 360 which was the main console they wanted to sell it on and they announced in 2007 the year the ps3 came out and they probably had no time for the ps3 and where probably half way through
THANKS FOR A GREAT DATE JIMMY
*GETS EARRAPED*
I LOVE YOU NATHAN
And the PC version has issue where characters kept saying v1 quotes after 3 lines were said. which is funny and also very annoying which that issue never happened with PS2 version

what's up with the deep fried filter on the bully gameplay lol
i hate enb so much it's unreal
Nice
PC version is ugly and the mandatory Xmas missions and unfinished beta missions are annoying PS2 looks better crappy PC port not a remaster
I mean, SE objectively looks better than the original. I can understand having a preference for the PS2 graphics, but to say SE looks worse than the PS2 version is just wrong. Especially using light Reshade settings, it can look surprisingly good.
@@nabs7741it looks better but at the same time Rockstar fucked up the atmosphere that original PS2 had and Bully is meant to look like that.
People who think that releasing a game fairly late into a console's life cycle is bad, specifically a bit before the new console's release, are insane.
Most gamers would have that console at that point, and if it's released right before the next console, it won't matter. Sales of that game can easily be strong.
I don't understand why people get so upset about it.
