Chengdu is probably the most tourist-friendly Provincial capital city in China. Jiuzhaigou or Kangding are only a few hours drive from Chengdu. The ancient town of MOXI磨西, located at the foot of the 7,500-meter Minya Konka, is worth a visit. In addition to the snow-capped mountains and huge glacier landscapes, the hot springs there are also very good
Chinese is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, with 1.4 billion users. China has a unique culture and language. So Chinese people don't know English, but young people can speak some English. If you live in China for a long time, you can learn some simple Chinese conversations.
Hey josie! We postgraduates in Chengdu love spending the Friday night at 金色印象, where we enjoy a massage while watching movies. Actually this place even provides a buffet with a variety of small, exquisite dishes, really helping us unwind from the week's stress. Remember to make the reservation in person at the store; phone reservations are not accepted😹
I just noticed TH-cam flashes the subscribe button in rainbow color on desktop when you mention "subscribe" in the video 0:15. I've never seen that before.
I’m impressed with how many Chinese vocabularies you’ve picked up, Josie! You don’t need to speak Chinese fluently in order to navigate through China, you really just need some key vocabs to get by. Good job!
I don't know why I'm watching this. I'm a Chengdu woman who lives in Brisbane, I guess I just miss my homewown too much, and I'm going back to visit family this December 😂
Hi Josie Just want to let you know you have a such great personality and I love to see your videos. It’s so energetic and fun!! Hope you all the best in china!!❤❤❤
Life is interesting! 6:51 The Yishon Store, I used to go there to buy clothes back in 2007, while studying in Sichuan Uni. After graduation, I came to Sydney and settled until now. My favorite chengdu food is rice bean soup? not soup but a risotto kind of textured rice and bean porridge. U can try this if you can't eat much spicy! It is called "dou tang fan" 豆汤饭
Chengdu is the largest breeding base in the world, with more than 200 giant pandas inside. The best viewing time is: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., otherwise the giant pandas will sleep.

In China, Mandarin is the national language. Yet in different locality, they speak their own language. China has some 56 ethnic groups, and they speak different languages. Many of them have even their own writing. That is totally different from each other. But interestingly, many, though speak differently, are of same writing. That is same writing but different pronunciation.
Just a friendly note from a native speaker🥰 A more natural way to say “no worries” or “all good”would be 没事 (mei2 shi4)* or 没关系(mei2 guan1 xi)*. The expression没问题would be more appropriate for “no problem” or “sure thing” as in someone asking for your opinion on something, for example: let’s go grab a coffee after this? And you can go - sure, no probs! (好啊,没问题!)The differences may sound subtle in English but are sometimes enough to confuse the Chinese person you’re trying to have a conversation with. Btw love your vids josie and your dedication to learning casual Chinese! :)) *numbers to suggest the tone

Chagee did a local thing. It just open in Chunxi Road-one of the most busy spots in CD. We name Chagee as China Starbucks. If you don't like tea thing then forget it.
The camera in the street flashed/captured every car because it's purpose to monitor this road traffic volume to see how many cars went through this street per hour(how busy in different time a day). This is one part of Chinese traffic system and quite common everywhere.

You are fairly good at getting the very basics of Mandarin. You have been so used to the high altitude, now the heavier air is getting you. Micheal is fairly close to what it is. The people you have come across, some cannot understand English spoke to you in Chinese, but they just spoke normally. They don’t mind your “off tone” Mandarin, they just try to kindly teach you how to say it correctly. I just love following your journey as you explore and learn.

Some of us never learnt a second language, they are unaware of the big differences between languages, they just do what people always do when miss a sentence in a conversation: say it again but slower.
Hey, I love your vlogs. I recommend you to visit another northern coastal city, Dalian. That is a very beautiful and stylish city with a lot of European style architectures. I am pretty sure you will have a different experience there.😊

I was born and raised in China, lived in Europe for five years, and have been living in Australia for eight years, where I settled down. I really think that coffee is quite expensive in China compared to its cost. It seems that around twenty years ago, coffee in China was already about 6 Australian dollars per cup, whereas at that time, coffee in Paris was only 1 euro per cup.
Because Chinese people prefer milk tea to coffee, and coffee is more like a tool for white-collar workers to overcome sleepiness on weekday afternoons, there are not many coffee consumers and the price will not be cheap.
