    So, roughly 25% drivetrain loss, not bad at all, especially considering the awd.

    How can these numbers give a 12.9 1/4 time??

    • @KcMastaPeace
      @KcMastaPeace ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't... You'll see these things more realistically run 13.2 -13.3. Chrysler has got an official NHRA certified time of 12.9. Maybe they used a pro level person to run it or an elite engineer who's honed in on the powertrain. I have no doubt they did it but average to good person will get low 13s at best.

    Almost 100 HP loss from stated crank to wheels?? Wtf

    • @chrislangdell117
      @chrislangdell117 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All wheel drive is a parasitic power loss. Automatic transmission usually cost you 20% horsepower from the crank to the wheels. A manual transmission you may loose 13%. Not sure on the percentage of loss from All wheel drive. Looks like some where near 12% percent power loss from the All wheel drive system.

      Jestin Varghese 475 crank. About 370-390 wheel.

  • @jmata4506
    @jmata4506 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious why you lost about 21% for hp and only about 16% for tq. Usually they tend to mirror each other on baseline pulls.
    Of course it gets different when you mod em out because every mod does something different.
    A dude down in SC did some baseline pulls and his number were way lower. Weather cold play a factor. I see you from NJ and you have a hoodie in so it’s probably a lot colder than SC.

  • @theoriginalmungaman
    @theoriginalmungaman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your Durango is loosing about 21% if you can believe the factory claimed power. I have seen rear wheel drive cars that were engine dynoed before the chassis dyno and with an automatic the power loss is usually much higher as in 30+%. You would think all wheel drive would loose more, say around 40%. So I would bet the gross horse power is actually better than advertised. The standard excepted 15% loss is a lie!

    • @jmata4506
      @jmata4506 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      theoriginalmungaman,
      I have to say 20-25% is about spot on for a awd application, newer drive trains are much better than older ones

  • @frankieruiz5725
    @frankieruiz5725 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    False advertisement....numbers are decent on the dyno not what i expected....but people buy the SRT to get that 475hp that's 100hp less for that price.... plus insurance...it didn't even make 400hp....so you're going to adds some mods just so it can make up for the hp that it was originally as advertised.....not worth it my eyes....still a fast truck...i have the R/T Durango....i want the SRT....But now im thinking twice about upgrading.

    • @DrivewayDemons
      @DrivewayDemons  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Frankie Ruiz you have to account for drivetrain loss. All cars lose power like this. The SRT is crank Dyno rated. Which it makes 475.

    • @frankieruiz5725
      @frankieruiz5725 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Driveway Demons thank you for responding back and thank you for clarifying that up for me.....im NOT a mechanic and dont know about things like drivetrain loss .....that's alot of hp loss by BTW....but i will continue to do the research myself about these things so i can have a better understanding....still debating whether or not to keep my rt and put a supercharger on it....or just get the SRT.....THANKS FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE....MUCH SUCCESS!!!

    • @DrivewayDemons
      @DrivewayDemons  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your welcome. The SRT bone stock will be as fast or faster than a RT with a supercharger. I vote for SRT. The RT can only handle about 5-6 psi or you risk blowing it.

      Frankie Ruiz not trying to sound like a a-hole. You have alot to learn if you didnt know about drive train power loss. Every car is different and also car companies can lie and produce more power than official numbers. And sometimes different dynos give different numbers because they are setup in different ways. Im always learning new things, so keep at it.
