SKETCHY POND MOWING WITH MTL XCT! One False Move And I'm In The Water!

For today's project we are mowing around a beautiful pond but the ground in some areas is very soft and wet and if I get too close we could be buried and stuck in the mud or in the pond itself! This one was a bit intense but it turned out great!

Oh this was wonderfully relaxing to watch. Spent the morning mowing my own lawn so this was a nice surprise. Turned out super good…was praying you didn’t get stuck in the really wet parts!

I really love that first run u do thru the long grass and seeing what the rest of it will look like. How neat and close cut it is. Once again ur hard work looks amazing. Great work mate 🤙😎🇦🇺
I enjoyed the video, job well done. We use tractors and pull type rotary cutters, but can't come close to your precision. We cut at different intervals than we use to, so each property owner is going to be a bit different. I can't afford it, but I sure like your equipment.

Back strip trees and tall brush. I didn't realize how high the cutter went up. That was something else. Your braver than I am, getting that close to the pond. It was pretty, pond.

When we encountered a wet spot like that on my Aunt and Uncles farm we would open up the edges to let air into the real wet spots and return in a few days to avoid leaving ruts it works pretty good to do that, gives it time to dry.

I've only ran a masticator once but having a boom masticator(is the one I ran) is so nice reaching out to mow pond sides like that.

I need one of these machines to cut the 100 square feet of grass in front of my mobile home.
Suggest to the owners to plant sunflowers whee the soft spots are at. They'll help dry that marsh area where the tracks showed where it's soft.

Too bad Rut doesn't make a side attachment that would extend out over the edge of the pond to trim that shoreline edge. Here in California they would be giving fines for destroying wetlands or something to that effect they are ridiculous out here.
But it's ok if a developer destroys it as they have the money to "mitigate the damage" elsewhere. What a crock. Sigh.

go head on to the pond edge, then lower the mower down to cut the slope. were you throttled up all the way? seems like it could use more power.
LOL, you said, we'll get started and work about an hour, and voila, your done. Thats an awesome machine and mower. Do you ever run it on standard flow and if so what rpm do you have to run?
If I do run it on standard flow I typically have to run it full throttle
That “one false move” is leading me to a mini excavator with a brush cutter. I’ve put my tractor in the creek 3 times and don’t plan on doing that again.
LOL yeah that sounds like a bad day! I may be back to cut the edges of the pond with the mini if the water level drops!
Since you mentioned the fuel, oil pressure question.
How many times during a job do you have to fill up the gas tank and add oil and pressure oil? Thank you...

LOL no I haven't! Those pesky things and I've just been too busy to mess with them for the past few months but maybe when it cools off I will go down there and hunt them!

Yea same in southern if Sweden also. Just rock all other🤪
We don't have any rock here near the ocean, its all sand mostly but I do hit the occasional chunk of concrete and it can dent the blades yes but hitting metal is worse.
A sickle bar mower works great around a pond.

You talking about those big fuzzy looking things with the white tops? Those things really get big......my brother has one in his yard it's huge and he burns it down every year you just can't kill it keeps growing back. Lots of people here in NC use them as a border around the yard....... :)

I noticed you mowed all of that pompas grass( 16:29) someone planted did they tell you too or did you not realize someone planted it.. (Green grass with white feathery tops)
Better look again cuz he didn’t cut the pompas
The pompas grass at (16:29) was on his hit list for sure. That's too bad but it might come back next year if it was not insulted by the attack.
