    This is a really good video. I started with zero experience and after about six hours of practice I can juggle consistently while changing the height of the throws mid juggle

    watched plenty of video tutorials on how to juggle 3 balls whilst waiting for my amazon delivery.
    this is the one that explained it. I was amazed at the results. Juggling 3 balls for 30+ secs on day one! after about 1-2 hours practice.
    Much love for the video. Excellent teacher mate. Take care.

    I've watched several "how to" videos and this is the first that mentioned throwing from the middle of the hand rather than rolling off the fingertips. That has helped me tremendously - I was throwing them out in front half the time. Will definitely be favorite-ing to rewatch!

    Thanks - i started last night and am doing some OK 3 ball cascade today. My biggest issue seems to be consistency in my throws. They go both away from me and different heights. But I did not expect any more in about 3 hours of work! thanks for the straight forward and simple explanation. I find i can do more when I talk to someone, or walk forward while doing it. I guess less thinking about it is helpful. PS - I am doing each step with several different types of balls (not at once). So I can do baseball, LAX balls, hockey balls and even softballs! Thanks

    I've watched a bunch of juggling tutorials before I came upon this one, and those weren't an issue before, but now, sir, I cannot stop giggling every time you say ball.
    Why?
    I don't understand. Balls weren't so funny before.
    Now they're hilarious. Balls.

      You have to watch yourself now so you don't 'throw up to the middle.' 3:43 :)
      But it's a good tutorial, we're just poking fun at the video for no real reason, I don't think one can avoid every phrase that can possibly make someone else laugh. :) Well done, sir!

    This is a fantastic video and I learnt such a lot from it. At one point though, it comes down to practice and more practice. The main part where I got stuck was as the creator predicted - Balls spinning off in front and behind me :)
    The way I worked around it was as follows:
    - Stay very focused on the balls while in the air
    - Always think of just the next action. Just the immediate next and apply all your concentration there
    - Keep breathing consciously as often as you can
    If you know how to swim, you'll know that you have to keep breathing all the time and kicking all the time and using hands some of the time. Sort of similar here, but with breathing, throwing and catching as the three things. Just another way to think of it.
    I'm better than I started out and its all thanks to Brad's super awesome, break into bits method of learning :).

      +Brad Moss (Parkourbrad) :) Just one more final tip from me, that made me finally comfortable with 3 balls is:
      - At times you throw badly inbetween, to recover from that, make your next couple of throws a bit higher. Those help as well lol
      Now I tried 4 balls and was a catastrophic failure lol. Is the principle the same or is there anything else to learn?

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dummy D Odd numbers/cascade (going across the body) 4 balls is a fountain, 2 independent patterns happening from either hand, (2 in each hand through from inside to outside. Can either work synchronous or asynchronous. See here for a demo - ydgunz.github.io/gunswap/animator.html?v=16&siteswap=4&beatDuration=0.28&dwellPath=(30)(10)

The portion of your video where you showed where the balls should be at certain times in the throwing pattern (kind of like a slow-mo at the 6:11 mark of video) was very helpful :-)

    My dad has been juggling since he was a kid and i thought i would surprise him that i have been learning it too! He has juggled fire in front of me, almost pooed myself. I was wondering if you have juggled fire? Thanks

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool story and glad it helped you share some nice moments with your dad. I have indeed. If I;m honest, once you get the knack of juggling clubs, no matter what you're juggling with blades, fire etc.. it's all the same.... If you get comfy with juggling, you can do it with most things, "scary" or not! :)

      Thanks for replying. I have learnt (over about 2 weeks) to do a 3 ball cascade and can manage to do a throw over - i think its called. That makes sense, can i ask 1 more question, well i'm going to anyway haha, what is your favourite trick or something that you're really proud that you achieved?

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erm, I used to be a lot more into my juggling but I think the trick that gave me the most satisfaction in cracking would be 3 ball box and extended box... it's a tricky, and slightly mechanical pattern, but really fun to do!

    Make sure your arms are keeping at a 90 degree position (Parlell to the floor and MAKE SURE you're throwing from the centre of the hand and throwing UPWARDS. You can also stand in front of a wall (Facing the wall) to stop travelling forward.

    I just learned this pretty quick, it's not necessary but I think it's easier if you also learn how to do a 3 ball flash with your non dominant hand as well as your dominant hand. Just my 2 cents

    Thanks for the help, i've practicing 30mins and can juggle 3 balls like 5-10 times in a row. The problem is that i keep throwing them all over the place so i can't stay in one place, so frustrating...

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Glad it helped, practice throwing UP, from the centre of the hand. Thumbs up and share!

    • @misanthrope8
      @misanthrope8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Practice while standing facing a wall. The balls can go sideways but NOT forward away from you! and if they go sideways, you go sideways too!

    • @misanthrope8
      @misanthrope8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do 5-10 times in a row and you are complaining??? Sigh. I have done the three-ball flash maybe 15-20 times (this is over a course of days), but never in a row. Only twice did I do it twice in a row. Usually I do it once every dozen times! I don't stand, I kneel (the darned things just take off otherwise). Back straight, arms at 90 degrees, lift the ball from the center of the hand (not like a tennis serve toss!); after a couple of weeks of frustration I finally realized I wasn't tossing the balls/bags very HIGH and that was making the catching a LOT harder!!! Short fast tosses -- challenging. So with higher tosses I had better success but I am still stuck at the three/three barrier. My nephew got to 10 tosses/catches within about 8 minutes and finally got bored at 15+ tosses and moved onto something else. ARGH!!!!! Every time a falter I return to the two-ball tossing for refresh, and then to the throw-drop routine ... but I'm not making much progress. I shall not give up!

    AWESOME VIDEO! i can soon juggle. Just that when i throw the first ball upp to its corner and then the second ball goes to much forward so i cant cath it any feedback?

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheAsianP - Mak sure you're throwing from the centre of the hand and arms start at the 90degreee position, the ball will only head forward if you're rolling off of the fingertips OR your arms are low and throwing forward.

    I keep on practicing my stance and how to throw it correctly but still having trouble throwing across my body. Any tips?

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ensure that your arms are at the 90 degree position and that you're throwing from the centre of the hand, really imagine those top corners of "the box" and aim for them, if you're got someone who can put their hands up AS the top corner of the box it gives you a physical point to hit. Hope to do more juggling based tutorials in the future, subscriiiibe :)

    Hi - I am after some advice. I started learning to juggle over Christmas break and have managed to get up to 8 balls. I can't seem to get further and the problem seems to be in the throwing - the balls get steadily more out of control as I get to 8 and then I get no further. I can catch ok I just can't throw balls I can catch. I have hit 'walls' before - at 3 and 5 balls but this is tough to get past. I really want to juggle 'continuously' and wonder if you could offer some advice about technique. I know sticking at it is key, but I think I need to improve my technique.

    • @BradMoss
      @BradMoss  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick Hammond - Hi Nick, sorry I missed your comment, was flagged as spam, but here I am!
      By 8 balls, I'm assuming you mean 8 throws/catches? It is just a matter of practice and familiarity in my opinion. One thing that can help is to close your eyes and imagine you're juggling, in slow motion, you can make it perfect in your imagination and surpass the numbers your struggling with and make it okay in your head.
      3 being the number suggests the continuation's the problem... keep practising starting from 2 in either hand and before starting each time, get your form right but keep relaxed, sometime over-thinking can lock you up. Feel free to comment back if you have any more issues.

    Can you do me a 5 ball juggling tutorial pleeeease....just wing it- you seem to give really good detail and tips. I've been working on 5 balls for months and still can't do it continously and I've watched every tutorial on TH-cam and I'm sure I'm missing something. I'd really appreciate it!! :)
