Dolphining vs constant speed in condor

The "ghost" plane in front of me is flying a constant 200KmH, not pulling up in any thermal. While the flight you see, attempts dolphin flying to see which is faster. Surprisingly it appears to make virtually no difference in condor. Play back at double speed to save some time

In some way this is a sad test if your are aone of these Dolphins

Dolphins never get sad, so Im still a happy dolphin and I refuse to believe my own test results :) I am curious to the cause though. I used a standard plane so it couldnt be incorrect flaps, I even made sure I never exited the thermal too slow and got caught at low speed in the sink after the thermal. Assuming McCready didnt get his math wrong, either I pull up too hard or condor exaggerates the drag induced by g forces?
