Congratulations I am happy to know about your past achievements and your new goals and objectives.
But please I want to ask you to care for EMRO region and stop wars. Health is not any more a physical well-being but it is a political. psychological and mental and social as well as economic well-being.
Yes poverty is a issue and poor people and countries can not afford for health. But if you have millions of Dollars or whatever currency but there is a war going on in your country how can you be healthy under the scare of death. Therefore I think health should be placed beyond the health sector and raised high into the political agenda of all contries.
I think WHO should ask all countries to stop war. Because it is the most preventable risk that can achieve health for all. I think all the presidents and leaders allover the world should be educated and training on the politics of stop wars.
Most of the countries in EMRO region as you know are rich countries but war is the cause of vulnerability and mortality and morbidity. Stop war among EMRO or any other country that suffe most fast r from such a dangerous disease is the most fast way to improve health worldwide. Why should a young people injured for nothing but because the faced by war in their countries that cause burns and sever injuries and disability. In addition to a psychosocial environmental economical disasters.
Thank you for your care to achieve the world health goal but I think health should be defined according to the situation analysis in each country or region of the WHO and poverty is not the only issue that WHO should tackle because you are a good example of good management of poor country when you improve the health of your country through effective and efficient strategies that didn't cost huge resources. This prove the urgent needs that Who should and must be empowered politicaly to act beyond health to political issues and the leaders of WHO should have the political power to ask the countries leader to stop war whish is killing millions of people increasing emigration and orphans affect all groups of people children women young people elderly poor and rich. Worsen the health of all the people in the world by changing the infrastructure of all the countries.
