    Great review just one question am coming from the DSLRs to this. How do i manipulate colour in camera? Is there any way to achieve that?

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tedd josiah you can add luts in the camera but it won't bake it in. You'll have to apply the put in post

    I've been reading and watching reviews/footage and wow... what a mix of reviews. For me, I just want the best image. Something that handles color correction without breaking apart and doesn't suffer from the jello that a DSLR gives. I'm looking at shooting a feature.. not for interviews or run and gun. And my audio will be recorded separate. Guess I gotta get my hands on one

    @myvideoversion You can adjust the brightness or switch off the light of the operating-LED in the "Display-Settings" -> "Door LED Brightness".

      +Peffken Yeah they added that in an update. It wasn't there when I first got the camera

    I really like the production and workflow of the blackmagic camera's, im planning to shoot an action movie with alot of night scene. what model would you think is best? Thanks

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +likewise media I would do the Blackmagic Cinema 2.5k camera with a metabones speedboster. I have gotten the best results from that set up with night shots. Here is an example with pretty minimal light. I think the whole thing is lit with a arri 650 and 750plus lights. th-cam.com/video/DOEkq2_nKF8/w-d-xo.html

    Nice review...can you please say something about the audio quality? The camera gets so many bad reviews on the B+H website, and the audio seems to be one issue....

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Andreas So as far as audio with built in mic is terrible. But I just use it as scratch track or to sync with my h5n recording. Now with adding a boom or lav through xlr connector is much nicer. Still isn't as nice as using an external recorder like the zoom h5n or something but if you have to run and gun it works pretty well. Here is a quick video test I did using the XLR. Now note I was speaking softly because my kids were in bed but it should give you a little bit of an idea. th-cam.com/video/Pd06nZ-yS70/w-d-xo.html

      +myvideoversion ..thanx alot for this information and the audio test...I cant hear any static noise there, so thats great...mostly i use an external recorder....cant wait for my preordered camera...Have fun and keep on shooting :)

      +myvideoversion the physical XLR connector are they working well? They seemed to get stuck and hard to remove in another review.

      I haven't had any issues with it Honestly. I've used them and they come right out for me.

    Hi,
    Nice review!
    Is it possible to use the ursa mini 4k with only one cfast Card? Or do i have to use two?
    Thanks,
    Ralph

      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gassner Film Yeah you can do it with one. You just need two to do high speed raw 4k

    I'm going to be shopping for new gear for a client that I'll be using. After a few years of shooting on a DSLR, I'd like to go ENG/Camcorder mainly because I'm sick of all the attachments they need (EVF, Separate Audio, etc). So ya the a7sII and GH4 shoot great, but I need something I can quickly grab and record with out of the bag. I'm leaning toward Panasonic DVX200 or Sony FS5. Any other suggestions? Budget $4,000-6,000

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Damian Dodd I haven't used a ton of cameras in that price range with those specs. But I would think a Canon C100 would be your best bet.

    Can you do a video in post
    For color grading?
    I use Premier pro and magic bullet,
    But I'm not going to lie my footage looks like shit. I have the ursa mini 4k and don't mind right now because I am still learning but some help would be much appreciated. I got the ursa mini instead of a dslr for the challenge and it's kicking my ass lol.

      I bought it when it was on sale for 1500 and yes it is expensive. But I have shot on a lot of tripods and this is the best bang for the buck. Nothing beats a good tripod. I also bought the induro carbon 8x with the Benro S8 Head which is significantly cheeper. But it doesn't work as well with the weight.

    After two months use, I have to say that I regret to have this camera. For the same money, I really should get A7S2. Too many problems with this camera.

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sunnyspeed studio I'm interested to know what issues you've had?

    • @sunnyspeed-studio
      @sunnyspeed-studio 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      myvideoversion 1. Noise (horizontal lines) 2. Really need a lot of light (that's why they don't build ND filter inside) 3. XLR audio is poor. These are three major issues. There are some minor personal things, such as, no power button on the LCD lid, no HDMI out, why not SSD, but more expensive CFAST cards, still heavy and big.

    • @myvideoversion
      @myvideoversion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sunnyspeed studio yeah those are valid points. There is no such thing as low light on the camera. I do mostly interviews and outdoor stuff so it's great for me. I love the image from this camera and the sharpness. But I do agree with your points

    • @sunnyspeed-studio
      @sunnyspeed-studio 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +myvideoversion I do interviews too, but street interviews. so light conditions are mixed and random. I still use Canon 5D3, I plan to save money for sony a7s2, maybe a7s3. I do use ursa inside, when there is enough light and no noise, the image is excellent like you said. Thanks.

    • @LeonardUlrich
      @LeonardUlrich 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sunnyspeed studio Thanks for your honest (and unfortunate) comments about your Ursa Mini.I correctly opted for the Sony A7S ii to compliment my A7S. IBIS allows me to be often tripod free. The PIX-E5H recorder is an engineering marvel. I position it down over the lens, hold my eye to the viewfinder, and shoot. What other 4:2:2 cinema 4K camera can you carry around your neck? Slog 3 ROCKS, and the A7S ii has a LOT less noise and slightly reduced rolling shutter.
