A hymn is known as religious music. An anthem would be YMCA and such.

Daniels! Lance Reddick, baby. He’s such a dramatic badass, it’s awesome to see how funny he is too.
Also, I always loved how dude knows exactly how long he can do jazz hands for. Why do you know that? 😂

A hymn is usually referring a religious song or poem, singing a flamboyant song would not be considered a hymn unless there’s religious context.

YMCA is definitely a gay hymn

Being gay is a religion to most gays... maybe you don't know the definition not a religion & can't see the clear ties to the current homosexual community.. I mean, do you not know any gay people?, or are you just an sjw who can't see life clearly? or??

      “It’s Raining Men” totally qualifies.

If you're not gay, you have no vote in what a "gay hymn" would be.
This is a hilarious skit showcasing ignorance of others who might be different in some way. This happens across all generations.

I think what you're thinking of is a gay anthem. I'd have to go get my hymnal to see if there are any hymns that are particularly gay.

    "I'm Too Sexy" probably might rather qualify as a "gay anthem" rather than a "gay hymn", in this case;
    Just opinin', mind you -
    FWIW.

    Got a few things:
First, as a queer person this skit is hilarious and I love it.
Second, it takes place in relatively present day because they mentioned NPH and he came out in 2006.
Lastly, they -seemed- like they were being respectful and earnest, but (whether they knew it or not) they were actually just trying to confirm their bigoted misconceptions.
If they were trying to find out more or correct their beliefs they would have asked things like "what songs will we sing," not ask three different questions about stereotypically gay songs.
Notice that most of the questions weren't "will there", instead they were phrased "when will there", so it's never occurred to these people that the insanely bigoted things they're saying could never not be the case.
Again, I love this skit, mostly because you wouldn't -believe- some of the unexamined beliefs about queer stuff I've come across.

@garveydent Euros weren’t in circulation until the early 2000s. The writers didn’t mess up; part of the joke is that the black community was still 20 years behind the rest of society in regards to the gay community as late as the late 00s.

@garveydent I got my info from living with working eyes & ears. Try as you might to rewrite history, you can’t erase the actions of the past. Get your competitive ass outta here!

The thing is if you don't look at this and think its funny which is the whole point it shouldnt even be a reaction. I watch so many of these to this skit and theres always someone offended or saying that they are being offensive... its meant to be funny and not taken seriously but also at the same time showing you how clueless people reaĺly are towards it.. Watch it and have a laugh. WE NEED MORE OF THAT THIS SENSITIVE WORLD.
If you continue to watch Key and Peele please watch the "Trying not to laugh when your homie is crying" 😂 That one is HILARIOUS

I dont think its bigoted at all making this skit. Every "group" gets made fun of. IMHO, everyone should be made fun of.

I think the point is the family wants to be supportive and open-minded, but they are completely clueless and have gotten some bad information in the past.

BROADBAND LIVE: A 'hymn' is a song in a religious ceremony or with religious overtones like Amazing Grace. For that & other reasons, the songs you mention and say are "gay hymns," are not. As Key says in this video, there's no such thing as a 'gay hymn.' Also, you seem to miss the humor in this video. It is how silly & humorously wrong black homophobes' beliefs about homosexuals & their homophobia and ignorance can be. Instead, you seem to be preoccupied with whether or not you agree with what Key's character says & miss the humor, almost entirely.
