this is literally the best crochet tutorial I’ve found. Like you completely vocalized the answer to everything I’ve ever gotten confused about in the order I got confused in. Thanks!!
This tutorial is amazing. I started crocheting a little over a month ago and this is the first successful attempt I’ve had at making a granny square. I’m using a super bulky red/orange/yellow yarn so I’m making nice big squares that I’m going to turn into a blanket!!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad the tutorial is helpful and easy to understand. Yes, that's such a good idea. I've been wanting to make a blanket as well with these squares. 😊✨
Ma'am, you are the best crochet instructor that I've come across in many years! This is definitely your calling!! Thank you from all of us for your AMAZING tutorials ❤
You're awesome. I've been crocheting for years. But sometimes need a reminder. So easy to follow. I feel like if I didn't know how to crochet, I would still understand this one. 😊
I have been struggling to understand the logistics of corners and I am so grateful for coming across your channel! I have been crocheting since August last year, very randomly after a two hour class and I really want to make a cardigan...or die trying 😂
Haha, you can totally make a cardigan! 😊 I would recommend starting with a very basic one (5 rectangles), and then making a granny square cardigan. This way you kind of know the foundation of how one is put together. I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and that it was helpful.
tysm!!! i was SEARCHING for this granny square to make a really pretty ocean bag and all of the tutorials except yours were confusing!!! this helped me so much, thank you and keep doing what you do ❤❤❤
I have been trying to find a granny square tutorial for a long time now and this has been the most informative and easy to follow one I have seen ❤️ Thank you for sharing it and keep up the good work 🫶🏻

Can we add more rounds to make the granny square boarder bigger? Could we use a bobble or puff stich to replace the double crochet or half double crochet when we are working in the square portion?
Hi there, I personally haven't tried this yet, but I think it might work. As long as you make enough stitches to turn it into a square, you could probably replace the double crochet and half double crochet with a bobble or puff stitch. Also, yes, you can definitely add more rows to make the granny square bigger. You can add a basic hdc border or sc border. 😊
Hi there, I've seen people do this with granny squares. I personally haven't done it, but I believe it's called the join as you go method. I think that should work for this square.
My Dr suggested I take up crocheting to help with concussion. This is such a great tutorial, thank you! If I were to make a lap blanket using the same yarn and hook, how many balls would you recommend me buying?
Hi there, thank you. I personally haven't made a full blanket yet with this square and yarn. So I can't exactly say how much yarn you'll need. But I have seen other tutorials for granny square blankets that use bulky-weight yarn. I would recommend doing a quick search on here and you'll be able to find one with the exact amount of yarn you'll need. 😊
Thank you so much! So they are just the regular plastic ones, but they are the larger size ones. I found them to be much sturdier than the small ones. It's from the brand Clover. 😊
Hi there, I haven't made a video yet on how to seam these squares together, but all make sure to add it to my list of videos to make. I do have a tutorial on how to make a granny square pillow where I show how to connect the squares, so that video might help to show the technique. The video is on my channel. 😊
I have found that at the beginning of the last row, it is easier to turn the work to place in the first corner stitch. I tried and tried without turning and it wasnt working up right
Hi there, yes, it would definitely work with worsted weight yarn. You wouldn't need to change any steps. I'm not sure exactly how many balls of yarn because I haven't made one yet in worsted-weight yarn. I personally would do quick search on here to see a blanket that was made with that yarn weight and then you would get an estimate of how much yarn you might need. Also, just make sure to change the hook size for a different weight. I would recommend looking on the label of the yarn skein for their recommended hook. I hope that helps! 😊
Plz tell the measurement of this granny square for beginners...I'm trying so 3,4 times but doesn't make a perfect square...plz reply so i can guess what to do exactly
Hi there, you might have to go up a hook size if your granny square is curling a lot. Also, I would double check your stitches and make sure that you have the correct amount.
Hi there, I would try the chain method and see if that works better. It honestly took me quite a few tries in the beginning to make the magic circle. I just practiced one night for a really long time, until it finally clicked. There are a few other ways I've seen people make it, so I would maybe check out some other tutorials to see if that method is easier to understand. Either way, you've got this! Good luck😊✨

You’re welcome 😊. I'm so glad the tutorial was helpful.
This was very easy to follow. I was hoping you could share how to make the square bigger
Thank you! I personally haven't made this square bigger, but you can always try adding an additional border to increase the size.
I did it and it’s adorable 😊
Oh that's wonderful! I'm so glad you got it. 😊

Is it possible to make the the squares stitch together for a blanket without having to make a.single square and sew them together?
Hi there, I've seen people do this with granny squares. I personally haven't done it, but I believe it's called the join as you go method. I think that should work for this square.

Loved this tutorial!
Are those heavy stitch markers? Like metal ones? If so where can we buy?? I’ve been on the hunt for heavy duty stitch markers
Thank you so much! So they are just the regular plastic ones, but they are the larger size ones. I found them to be much sturdier than the small ones. It's from the brand Clover. 😊
is there a video to show how to connect the squares when your ready
Hi there, I haven't made a video yet on how to seam these squares together, but all make sure to add it to my list of videos to make. I do have a tutorial on how to make a granny square pillow where I show how to connect the squares, so that video might help to show the technique. The video is on my channel. 😊
About how big does your square measure out to be?
Hi there, the size of the square is 8 1/2" inches by 8 1/2" inches.
Do you have a video of attaching all the squares together to make a blanket?
Not yet, but I am working on one. 😊
I have found that at the beginning of the last row, it is easier to turn the work to place in the first corner stitch. I tried and tried without turning and it wasnt working up right
Hi there, thank you for the suggestion. All have to give it a try! 😊
How would regular 4 weighted yarn work with this pattern? Need to change anything and approximately how many skeins for a blanket?
Hi there, yes, it would definitely work with worsted weight yarn. You wouldn't need to change any steps. I'm not sure exactly how many balls of yarn because I haven't made one yet in worsted-weight yarn. Hi there, the size of the square is 8 1/2" inches by 8 1/2" inches.
Hello dear
I wanna make a bigger one but I don’t know what I am doing wrong , mine is curly
Hi there, you might have to go up a hook size if your granny square is curling a lot. Also, I would double check your stitches and make sure that you have the correct amount.
Do you have any patterns that will be the same size as this square?
Hi there, I have a crochet pumpkin pattern that uses this square. 😊 jewelsandjones.com/crochet-a-pumpkin-with-granny-squares-free-pattern/
have you found any other??
If the magic circle doesn’t close all the way does that mean my yarn is too thick?
Hi there, yes, it could mean your yarn is a bit to thick. I would maybe go up a hook size and see if that does the trick.
maaan i’ve been stuck on the magic circle forever, it keeps turning into nothing
Hi there, I would try the chain method and see if that works better. It honestly took me quite a few tries in the beginning to make the magic circle.
