    Nice to see new tarantula keepers in the hobby! A couple of suggestions to help. A piece of cork bark with a starter burrow will make your tarantula happy. And tarantulas won't drown. I 100% promise. No need for rocks. Welcome again to the hobby.

    I would recommended giving the first tarantula you unboxed more substrate to dig and some where for it to hide. Itll be alot more defensive if it doesnt have somewhere to retreat to 😅
    Also the second one you unboxed is an arboreal spider I do believe so it needs a taller enclosure as it likes to climb.
    Hope My comments help

      Ahh truly appreciate the comments and yes as I have been learning I have been upgrading setups and they have like 2/3 substrate and a hide I created for them unfortunately the pink toe died :( really sad about that one and not sure why gave a higher tank for climbing and was feeding well but just found it at bottom of substrate I have massive tarantulas now 😂😂 all the others are doing great tho

    Make sure when your out you get a tall enclosure for the diversipes as it is aboreal. Good like with the T's. I started with my first in February and I now have 46.

      46 already? 😮wow! Keep in mind that they need quite a bit of space as they grow. I have two juvenile T's and a H. petersii and of course I would like to have plenty more, but I know that my house will not fit many terrariums when they grow up

  • @BloosPetCrew

    My issue with mystery boxes is the lack of information given with them. Each invert should come with an ID card and care info to make the transition for them as smooth as possible. Like as far as I know the ladybird spider’s enclosure should not be misted and substrate should be bone dry. Humidity can be detrimental to their health. This isn’t a criticism of you, just these mystery boxes not setting keepers up to succeed.

    • @CreaturesExotic
      @CreaturesExotic  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed would be more helpful but is a learning curve had a few Inverts die unfortunately but none from these they are doing really well however recent slings I got and a few of the early smaller mantis passed from one supplier others doing great just means I change up how I do things and learn more

      @@CreaturesExotic That’s fair, just personally I would want to know some basic information on husbandry rather than that learn from scratch on the job. While learning might be part of the fun for us, it’s definitely not fun for the animal. I’m glad you haven’t had too many loses but important to remember, surviving isn’t thriving. :)

    I wouldn't dare to put such huge isopods with a jumping spider myself, I'd be too scared the isopods would potentially harm the spider close to molting even if they mostly stay at the top. I personally won't be taking that risk, I use dwarf isopods for that reason. I loved seeing all the mantises though, I don't have a single one yet but I find them very very intriguing. I like that little trick of putting pebbles in the water if the spiders are assumably small, will steal that idea. I learned new things about beetles too. ALSO, that first spider was like NAH THIS PAPER MY HOME MAN, YOU GOTTA EVICT ME AND BULLDOZE MY HOUSE! The pinktoe is indeed, very beautiful, especially when grown up from what I've seen! Seeing you with the first animals of sorts is relatable and nice, I only have a jumping spider, fake death's roaches and isopods with unicorn snails right now and it gives me the confidence to do okay with any new critters. I love your attitude towards all these animals, being so interested in all of them and treating them calmly even if some of them tried being sassy with you :')
    Also I just started thinking what kind of job it is to pack these tarantulas and scorpions into tissue paper... oh dear...

    • @CreaturesExotic
      @CreaturesExotic  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aha serious set of balls needed I think to pack some of what I have recieved lol - the jumpers are fine tbh as the isopods don't bother them however you have to be careful with isopods and mantises as I swear a rogue one ate one of mine. Mantis are awesome however some very hard to care for and do not live as long esp if a male

      @@CreaturesExotic Ohh yes, that's seeming like a con about mantises. They seem really lovely to observe though, and you made handling them look easy. It's good to know some of them are easier than others, will do my research well before getting one

    You'd think they'd put on the creatures common known names as well or instead of just the scientific names
    I've been thinking about maybe getting a mantis or some of those very cute jumping spider's, even though I don't really like any spider's that are bigger though, I catch and release either in the alcove that's near the front or in the back storage room depending on the type of spider I think it is, cause I'm not the type of person that squish's them
    Anyway I think that shop could have done a much better job with that mystery box, like maybe a few less critters and add an enclosure or two for the critters that were sent and more information on each one, and not crammed some of them in as much as they did unless that's the way they are supposed to be transported ??
    When you say you caught those jumping spiders do you actually mean they live wild in the UK?, and what do they feed on ?

    • @CreaturesExotic
      @CreaturesExotic  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment yes caught a lot of zebra jumpers as native here only thing with mantis is they are amazing but don't live very long esp if male but still awesome guys jumpers are amazing you will love the regal or ardens - I started with a massive fear of spiders the jumpers got me through that

    • @ginnied7346
      @ginnied7346 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CreaturesExotic, just wondering where about's would I find those zebra jumpers, I mean if they are in your area does that mean they'll be round mine as I don't live that far away from you if I remember correctly, I'm close to Preston Lancashire, what kind of areas should I be looking in, or will they be in my garden, I am pretty sure that I saw one or two when I first moved in
      After watching you, I ordered my first vivarium which will hopefully arrive by this Friday, so I've ordered that some tortoise substrate ( I hope that the right kind ? ) some springtails, moss and plants to get it to start growing then I can get some kind of small critter or critters not sure yet, may be a mantis, jumping spiders or those little tree frogs, their all so cute in their own way and it makes it difficult to choose, maybe if I get it right and nothing dies right away or within the first month or so then maybe I'll get more enclosure's, i can see this maybe getting a bit addictive ?

    • @CreaturesExotic
      @CreaturesExotic  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can find them all over the uk zebras however tricky to locate lol toom me ages but found loads, depends on size of your vivarium for what you get, tree frogs needs more space but are amazing and other invertebrates depends on there size

      @@CreaturesExotic Thanks for letting me know, I've just ordered a couple of vivarium's, so I've ordered a 40L which is a tall one that can also hold a little water and the others I bought are the jar type ones that are 30 to 35cm high and about 15 to 20cm circumference, so I'm hoping they'll be okay for whatever critter or critter's I decide to get
