MOGADISHU CITY HAS UNBELIEVABLY CHANGED. (Shocked Kenyan)

  • Mogadishu city. Allow me to present to you the new Mogadishu City. When other Africans hear about Mogadishu, all they can conjure inside their minds are images of desolate buildings, gun-toting militias, and chaos. In fact, for many Kenyans like me, the thought of going to Mogadishu sends shivers down the back. What if I told you that all of that was a lie? Maybe the fear was justified in the past. But as we speak, the new Mogadishu City is a sight to behold.
It is one of the fastest growing African cities. I can almost guarantee you that in the next few years, Mogadishu might be the biggest city in Africa, giving competition to Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Lagos. It will be in the league of Dubai and other fast-rising cities in the east. The pace at which the rebuilding of Somalia is happening is mind-boggling. Can you tell that a few years ago, these nice, beautiful skyscrapers did not even exist in Mogadishu? This is a true testament to the Somali people's resolve to get past the obstacles that pulled them down in the past and forge a new future.
You might not know it, but allow me to break it to you. Mogadishu is one of the places with a lot of opportunities for Africans to work and live. Right now, as we speak, there are thousands of Kenyans who have already established themselves in Mogadishu, especially in the education and hospitality industries. and they leave without fear. and I'm not just talking about Kenyan Somalis.
If things go the way they are going, Eastleigh in Nairobi might relocate to Mogadishu. The opportunities in Mogadishu are seemingly limitless. of the positive aspects of Mogadishu is safety. personal safety, that is. I cannot conceive of walking around in Nairobi without fear of my personal belongings being stolen or being mugged. In Mogadishu, you can even walk in the dead of the night without any fear of being attacked by robbers. Of course, the threat of al-Shabaab exists and attacks have been known to happen sporadically. However, there is an increasingly palpable sense of security that is manifesting in Mogadishu that has never been seen before. The police force of Mogadishu is overworked. One very good reason for this sense of security is, of course, Islam. Islam is the religion of Somalia and it dictates social norms and behavior. Being a very religious country, theft is heavily frowned upon.
In the hospitality industry of Mogadishu, there is immense potential for growth. The city boasts some of the best beaches in Africa. Many of them are undergoing massive development. In a few years to come, tourists will be coming to Mogadishu to swim in the turquoise waters of Mogadishu's beaches and take long walks along its white sandy beaches.
The city is gearing up to become one of Africa's best commercial centers due to its strategic harbour that will facilitate trade from all over the world. Indeed, Mogadishu will be the new Dubai of Africa.
Thank you for watching. Please remember to like this video and subscribe to Afro Artista films and see you in the next one.

I spent 4 months in Mogadishu in the fall of 1993. Alot of good people died and blood, sweat, and tears were shed to make this a better place. What a great video to find and see how things are changing for the better. I can see Hunter Base on a map and for years it was abandoned. Now I see it is being used for trucks and such. Warms my heart. One of my greatest accomplishments was taking 700-1000 refuges back to the Jauhar river valley. (Not sure on exact name) South of Mogadishu, south of Merca. I have always hoped to find this news and maybe even meet someone I directly helped. This has made my day. From the USA, God Bless Africa!

Mogadiscio is also one of the oldest continuedly inhabited city in the World. It was referenced as a major trading port on the African Coast by second century BC by the Periplus Maris Eritrean. In the Middle Age it was a major industrial center on par with Europe biggest cities of the time as the economic hub of the Ajuuran Empire which was an influential power maintaining diplomatic ties with China`s Song and Yuan. Finally, the city is the birth place of the Shimbilazi, the oldest Swahili dialect.

Three days ago I was riding auto rickshaw in Mogadishu. Due to traffic congestion the driver turned from the main road as we drive in residential area I was surprised by the number of ongoing constructions. I think I can say there was one or more construction or repair work in about each 100 meters.
The Somalis are resilient and going forward at fast speed.

Somali Airlines used to be Africa and the Middle East number 1 airline Emirates airlines was nothing back then and benefited from Somali Airlines disappearance
