If you ever do another OST reaction to persona. I really recommend trying "Bloody Destiny" and "Lone Prayer". not enough people react to them so it'd be neat to finally see someone do it
I HIGHLY recommend the music from the Xenoblade series (10 tracks I personally recommend are You Will Know Our Names, Zanza the Divine, Battle - Bionis Shoulder, Drifting Soul, Mor Ardain, Battle - Torna, Keves Battle, A Step Away, Black Tar, and Uncontrollable) and the Trails series (5 tracks I personally recommend from each arc are: Trails in the Sky: Sophisticated Fight, Silver Will, Cry For Me Cry For You, The Crimson Stigma, and Stairway to Gehenna Trails from Zero/to Azure: Get Over the Barrier - Roaring Version, Gnosis, Delusion of a Thousand Years, Unfathomed Force, and The Azure Arbitrator Trails of Cold Steel: Exceed, To Grasp Tomorrow, Burning Appearance, Ashita e no Kiseki, and Endure Grief Trails into Reverie: NO END NO WORLD, Be Caught Up, Aim a Gun at the Bullet, The Destination of FATE, and The Perfect Steel of Zero Trails Through Daybreak: Hard Desperation, Get Rid of the Urgent Menace, Unmitigated Evil, Work Out a Solution, and Believing Heart)
The thing about the female protagonist is that not only is she the only time you get to choose the protagonist, but she also has a different personality from Makoto and gets new social links. Unfortunately not even in Q she is canon, because once she meets the rest of the persona 3 cast they are all like "who tf are you lady" lol. Her current whereabouts are the ATLUS basement, together with persona 1 and 2. Also yes, the gameplay is close to mystery dungeon but encounters happen in the classic turn based way and you make the map yourself using the 3ds' touchscreen. So without the lower screen it's kinda hard to play them.
it's not that she isn't canon, in the game it's stated that she's from an alternate universe and the reason why nobody knows her is bc all the P3 characters are from male mc universe
Let's go, my man finally dropped another part! Btw the lyrics are not made by TH-cam but by the guy who uploaded the video and gotta say its the best video if you want to hear the lyrics
You... Have to try the games at some point. There's always a high bar for their music. As for the reason why FemC gets locked out is because it's hard to RESTRUCTURE THE STORY for the game whenever you put a FemC in. They tried to put one in 5 and they scrapped it and made the design for FemC as a party member.
I actually have played the new one there’s 2 parts on YT the 3rd will drop later it’s just not a priority atm. And yeah makes sense then because if it was easy to include it seems way too marketable not to try and add a female MC
Pull the Trigger is my favorite battle theme in the series along with It's Going Down Now, so I'm glad you actually liked it this much! And yeah, it's the same singer as Wiping All Out, that's the singer for the FeMC route and all themes are sung by the main singer of the game they represent. And the FeMC is not in Reload because she's actually a completely different character personality wise(as much as silent protagonists go anyway), gets her own exclusive social links(I could finally date Akihiko yay) and has a few story changes, so I guess it was kinda too much work to include.
Yeah pull the trigger is my favourite song from persona in general now lol. I appreciate the explanation on the female character btw it does seem like it takes much more effort that can easily be deemed unnecessary
@@zero38xtIt's worth noting that Kotone (the canon name of FeMC) is only in Persona 3 Portable, which was the remake made for the PSP, likely to provide people who already bought the PS2 version a reason to buy it again.
Cinematic tale and pull the trigger are my favourite from q2 especially cinematic tale since the songs keeps updating in the game every time more member from the other game join you and their respective games singer also join in this song
I’m going to need you to listen to more P4G music like Backside of the Tv, Heartbeat Heartbreak, Heaven, Signs of Love, Your Affection, Reach out to The Truth, and SMILE.
My two favorite songs from Q2 are Pull The Trigger and Cinematic Tale. Cinematic Tale tells of a love story where a person fails twice to ask someone to the movies and gives up, but on the third try, after he says yolo it can't get any worse, the other person says yes. It's very clear in the lyrics with "Here goes", "Take two", and "Last chance" Also another thing to remember with persona songs is that they typically follow a pattern, where it goes through the main melody and bridge twice then switches it up before finishing the song, I just noticed that you didn't get to that part in cinematic tale if you care.
Just went to a better video for cinematic tale and I’m so annoyed lol that’s such a cool layer to the song that I missed 😭 and yeah that song structure is actually pretty common but I guess it worked against me because I thought I heard the full song 💀
Got to more Persona OSTs I see. Neat! I knew you’d love Pull the Trigger after hearing your thoughts on Wiping All Out. It’s a banger for me too. Hope you try out more of the Persona 3 OSTs. The female protagonist of Persona 3 actually has a decent amount of differences to the male option and has her own fanbase. Like her attitude is different (has a more bubbly attitude compared to the male’s angsty front), her dialogue options are different and you can get into romantic with the male cast this time. A decent amount of the fandom likes her more because of it. One of the people people in the live chat calling her a “groomer” at 12:24 is referring to how one of the main cast of Persona 3 is a Grade Schooler who’s got a crush on the teenage female protagonist. And there’s weirdly an option to accept his feeble attempts at advances. Resulting in the fandom jokingly calling her a “groomer” and questioning the developers & writers mindsets. She’s apparently not in the remake due to the differences between her and the male protag made implementing both options a lot of work. And remaking a game from scratch is already a lot of work. Her role in Q2 is basically an alternate dimension counterpart of the male protagonist.
Ok thanks for the comprehensive breakdown lol this answered pretty much everything I think I wanted to know. Honestly find it super interesting how the silent protags have such defined personalities it honestly makes them way cooler to me since I’m not interested in self inserts most of the time 😭 And yeah pull the trigger is easily my favourite persona song rn lol
When I saw gameplay after finishing the video I didn’t like the look of it so that’s pretty cool! And yeah pull the trigger is literally my favourite now 😭 Makes me wanna do more Q stuff and I probably will
I love the mentality behind Invitation to Freedom's lyrics, because it's clearly trying to talk someone into changing their ways for the betterment of the world, but it's got some sass to it. It's like "You think you got what it takes? How 'bout you DO something then, huh? We're not sitting around for no one, we're changing society NOW. So either get with it, or get outta the way!" It's less like they're asking the opposing side for redemption, more like a call to action. It still leaves the decision in their hands, but also make them feel guilty for not switching up with lines like "How many times did you look away that someone cried for help? Acting like you didn't know." I LOVE that so, so, so much. That's so COOL and I wish the Phantom Thieves acted like that more often when it came to recruiting members.
Yeah feels rebellious and like the person doesn’t wanna waste too much time 😭 Downside for me is I probably won’t get to persons 5 for a while lol but I’m excited to start 4
About Persona Q It's a crossover between Persona 3 and Persona 4. You can play with both protagonists from P3 and P4, but after some time the other protag joins the party. You however keep the music from the protagonist you picked.
My personal take on the Q games is that while I like them, they aren’t exactly all that. The only reason why they exist is for the fan service of your favorite characters interacting with each other. While that is cool and all, they dimmed down the majority of them to their most recognizable characteristic and ran them through the water. Like the white hair guy in Persona 3, in the game one of his gimmicks is that he likes to work out and consumes a lot of protein. While in his respective game he is more than just that, in the Q games that is his main joke and it gets repetitive. I also got the impression that there is barely any story other than the character interactions and repetitive jokes. I’m not hating on the people who like the Q games, I’m just saying that they are not really my type of game, at least that was my impression from when I played Q 1.
This is the EXACT thing I assumed lol. I guess the way to enjoy this type of stuff is to just have fun and get lost in the character interactions if you’re a longtime fan 😭 (and that’s not bad at all)

The P3P female protagonist was basically ignored by Atlus for years before they brought her back for PQ2 which had her come from an alternate timeline to the other P3 characters. After PQ2 she's been included in more promotional material but wasn't added into P3R according to the devs it they did want to include her but couldn't because of time constraints since the game does change quite a bit with her as the protagonist.
The main thing about the male and female protagonist choices (or lack thereof) in Persona games is well, the games are very much set in modern Japan and tend to play things very... Realistically? In terms of 'who interacts with who and how' kinda stuff and well. Long story short people in Japan can be kinda sexist (so that 'funny pervy guy' probably wouldn't be such a great best bro character anymore, and the 'girl who gets a crush' probably wouldn't or if she did probably wouldn't be nearly as obvious about it) so... Yeah. Persona 3 Portable was the only game where they actually sat down and went 'What *would* change if the protag was a girl?' and the answer in that game was: nothing vital to the actual plot changed but all the social links got changed up quite a bit, protag's obvious depression issues manifested more as 'always totally happy smiling' than the boy version's visible 'cool' apathy (probably because of in universe gender expectations), her main weapon is a naginata rather than a longsword though she can use those too, she can actually say no to dates unlike the guy prior to Reload, and can get away with dating multiple guys at once with no issue unlike the guy who gets yelled at a lot (cue me as a girl, raising my eyebrow and quietly going wtf at the developers on that one). P3 FMC was very popular with the fans (both for having a cute design, finally letting us girls feel a little more actually included and for having great love interests/new social links -minus the one she can romance an 11 year old because WTF ATLAS?!- ) and many to this day want her to return/be referenced in more Persona games beyond just P3P and Persona Q2
The reason why it would be important for the P4 protag to be masculine is because of the Persona he awakens to. Izanagi is the male Shinto creator-god, while Izanami is the female Shinto creator-god. A lot of mythological symbolism would sort of get lost or weakened if he wasn't masculine due to the loss of contrepoint with Izanami.
