Omg thanks!!!! My original gameboy from 1989 was working when I first bought it. But out of knowhere, the battery was loose and continuously falling out thinking the battery were dead when they weren't. The aluminum foil pushed it up and set it in place. Defenitly this deserves a like

I see some comments about things heating up using this method. Will this work on a candle using 2 AA Batteries without getting hot?

I had a light-up Christmas decoration that I STUPID STUPID left batteries in last year that leaked and stuck to the spring. It ripped a big section off when I tried to get the old battery out. Thought the decoration was a goner, but after cleaning everything up with vinegar and trying this foil trick, it worked!! YAY!! Thanks so much!

Well shoot, I should have been able to think of this, but I didn't. With the pandemic, I just couldn't procrastinate any longer. Two of the springs had rusted off in my 4-aa battery monitor on my Nordictrak. It seemed like such a project to make or acquire new springs and solder them in place. And of course I couldn't exercise without the monitor working. ;) ;) Looked for videos showing it done and instead found this. Cheap fast solution! Thanks!!!
