Another bad thing was that there were no vendors to get cards from. I expected there to be some vendors for such a big event .I tough i could get some cards from vendors that i was missing and would be hard to find from players, but since it was all bandai event they didn't alowe or invite any vendors for this event. I also play one piece and they were selling the newest one piece set for like 130 euros. I would expect that boxes that ar sold directly from bandai would be about 85-90 euros that is a typical price for a full box that isn't overprice, but no they did those boxes price as a singe booster MSRP 4.49Euro X 24
No WAY would a company sell their product straight to the consumer for under MSRP. That would immediately tell distributors and retailers that they aren't needed and those two parties would immediately stop carrying product.
The lack of vendors really did suck, I was hoping that I'd be able to sell off my binder but there was nothing to be seen! In regards to box prices, I can't say that i'm shocked due to them setting the MSRP of the product, which they then need to follow. Maybe something like a discount would've been cool or something? Again, celebrate the games!
Bandai Card Game Festival felt so crammed and miserable to play through when I attended the LA one for Digimon. I am sad to hear that it wasn’t any better for you either.
Sorry to hear that! It was definitely crammed here also, it also didn't help that there wasn't any signage so people were constantly in the way of queues etc. They need to improve, that's for sure!
The organization was horrible... One single shop for everything, which obviously leads to a HUGE line which makes it impossible for competitors to get anything. I was SO ABSOLUTELY LUCKY that I have this angel of a girlfriend that came with and stayed in the venue ALL DAY for me boring the hell out of her. She picked up my pre order and bought an additional memory boost set for me. And she found another girl to chill the day with all day and she found out about the scavenger hunt and did it all with her and gave me all the answers so I just had to put in the info she pre saved for me. Thanks to her I got 2 sets of the wormmon gift and pteromon/shoemon promo. But she asked around before and NO staff knew anything about the scavenger hunt. It was such a pain. At some random point in the day they started to put out the scavenger hunt banners and only like 2 (!!!!!) staff members knew something and were finally able to help us (for example after checking put the 6 banners to get the rest of the stamps you actually had to click on the icons to receive the questions for the remaining stamps). The next day we went super early so that I can finally check out the shop before it's get overloaded again and they had NOTHING for digimon... They only had the EX7 and BT18/19 sets and the memory boost set were completely sold out... Out of anger I bought 4 of the OP Leader set and 4 of the dragonball set... Sold 3 of the OP sets for huge margin already so it was worth it. And the food shops were obviously absolutely overpriced. Like 9€ for a small portion of fries... All in al... Horrendously organized event.
Seems like this is a common theme from all the comments so far, lackluster event with very little to do. The staff not being clued into things is such a disappointment also. Didn't hear much about the food (because quite frankly, why would you buy something there when theres so many restaurants in Utrecht?) Shoutout to the girlfriend for helping you get the wormmon/liberator promos though!
I don't like that there was no stock of what I wanted... So I got mad and bought out stock so other people also could get nothing and resold for stupid value... Suddenly we see why there are stock issues. The event was a joke overall, but made worse with people like you taking advantage
Was there for the Gundam TCG as an spectator. found out 0ne weeks late that you have to buy the tickets beforehand luckily got one for the Saturday. When i got there i literally went to tree of those booth (from right till the Preoroder line on the left) till i got the info where i have to line up for the Gundam TCG. Furthermore i was expecting to kill time till the Gundam tcg by play testing the other Bandai Tcgs. Found out there was no Demo Area to promote the games to spectating audience. No Battle Spirit, Union Area etc. . big missed opportunity to shift bandai Merchandises. gunpla, digivice ....well at least i got to know the friendly community and the space was big enough so it didn´t felt crowded.
We were also there and the communication about the side events was really bad too. They told us the 3v3 starts at 15:30. Later online we saw that it was 10:30… Also after the event startet, they didnt send out a push notification and we almost were came late to it. So yes it was very unorganized

To sign up for the side events they use a qr code on a small piece of paper tape to a wall and couldn't find it because it fell on the floor and got stepped on my crowds of people. They didn't have any places for Spectators to play with eachother. Only fun thing was the scavenger hunt.
My experience as BSS player. 1) I wasn't able to registrate my decklist until the previous day where I had to go to somehow get my app fixed. Wasn't 100% sure if I could participate until the very last day.(ps I was travelling from Greece to Netherlands) 2) For some reason the pro tour of BSS took place a month before in germany.Other than the card collections there was no incentive for Bss players to travel to Utrecht. The tour had 0 significance in contrast to every other game tournament held. 3) Hundends of people were getting in line for product and preorder between rounds hopping to get their stuff before next round happened. Disbanded when they couln't . Making it pretty difficult for anyone to get/buy their stuff. It was a nightmare. 4) Judges were not sure how to make the side event happen in my game. I don't blame them, they were not given clear instructions from the organizers and they went back and forth for questions and clarifications while we waited. 5) All the things you stated above for Gundam. The lucky thing for me was the fact that because of low participation because of tour significance , i had time to gather my preorders and buy product. Other than that the event had poor organization
I'll be honest if it wasn't for it being my first time abroad. I would have left this event mildly disappointed. When travelling for a big event I'm expecting something big, grandiose. What I got was essentially just a bigger regionals event with no vendors. The only good thing I have to say is the main event was run smoothly. Other than that nothing else of note to really talk about. The side events all had immensely poor communication. I didn't even know Gundum tickets for day 2 were put up until it was too late. The 3 on 3 event was dreadful and the staff seemed to have a "fuck it, it's a side event" attitude. I really wish I just spent Sunday enjoying Amsterdam.
It sucks to hear about the side events being dogwater, but can't say I'm shocked. Definitely needed more stuff to do, vendors etc. Much to be improved upon, if they ever do it again.
As much as I appreciate your experience at the event was not ideal (I was on the staff and trying to make it better ^^') I just want to point out that Bandai, for only their known reason, still print all the cards in Japan, not in localised printers. And shipping and customs has it's own mind - as we usually see it with delays from Asmodee which usually is due to customs. And out of curiosity - have you sent any feedback to the TO ? :) It will help them plan to make event better next time !
I have attended 5 of 6 large digimon events in Mexico the last 2 years and this last one was terrible. There were only 128 places, none of my friends had a place, the space that was for us was very marginal compared to that of One Piece.
It was bad. Not much product,really empty venue. Scavenger hunt for a wormmon was long winded and annoying and if you accidentally claimed early like my friend did you wouldnt receive anything which was idiotic .
@VortexTCG he tried his hardest but the staff were having none of it lol the staff were really not clued up on things like you mentioned in the video. The side events weren't great either the teams event we kept getting repaired and there was no timer
@@SteevT_23 I hear you, I wish I had better things to say about the game, trust me 😂 With the amount of delays the game has had in the UK this past year, and the major event being a bit of a let down (in my opinion), it's hard to stay positive. I'm hoping with Bt21 around the corner the game can get back on track ☺️

Agreed, could've easily done more at the event such as mini games, demo events for all the games etc. need to improve!
