    This was a profound and deeply insightful talk on the future of mixed reality. I gained a tremendous respect for the ethos of Magic Leap.

    I found his comments well thought out, I guess I like the way his mind works, empathy for the listener and passion for his dream. Public speaking is not easy for all people. He kept my interest till the end. Which people didn't seem to realize occurred. lol. .. Great job Graeme, can't wait to buy one of your "Living-room Lego" devices myself XD

    This presentation gives us good insight into what Magic Leap wants to accomplish with their product. It sounds like they're going to create an amazing and USEFUL piece of technology. Mixed reality has unlimited potential but it has to become just as useful and vital as our smartphones in order to be the game-changer that most of us are expecting. I can't wait to see what their product is going to be capable of doing. Hopefully soon..

    This is a great speech, well said Mr. Devine. It's inspiring to think of the different applications this opens up, especially for educational fields.

    What the hell is wrong with folks that they don't think that this is nothing short of fantastic and folks aren't sharing as much Magic Leap videos as they should!

    I know this is silly, but I want a LSD app on magic leap, well, you can't do a full LSD app, you'll never do the mental state without the actual substance, but at least the visual. I always wanted at least to be able to show people how beautiful and artistic LSD trip is, for those who are too afraid to try. Or even better - DMT, well, you can do DMT on VR, no need for reality to be present there.

    4 pillars description shows, Magic Leap is a "Only a Consumption Device". Not an iota mention of productivity.. Interesting.

    we Posted an article about how Sci-fi movies/Tv shows failed miserably in describing the inventions relating TV and 2D displays are. Even in Starwars, the media and the message displays were in 2D. AA ................................................................................................................................. 4 pillars description shows, Magic Leap is a "Only a Consumption Device". Not an iota mention of productivity.. Interesting.

    Very boring and said absolutely nothing new.....but then again this is ML.......and they do say a lot but.........

    • @mbyb6817
      @mbyb6817 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's my thought exactly. It's the same techno-philosophical mumbo jumbo hype talk ML has been serving for years without anything tangible to show for. Also is Graeme Devine (a self tough game developer and undergraduate school drop out) seriously going to lecture people on the physics of photons and atoms?
      If a talented hype bs talker is all that it takes to attract millions of dollars in investments... tell me more!

      Everything about Magic Leap seems to be all verbiage and no substance, I'm very skeptical about the whole thing.

    same shit for 3 years... "soonish" for theme is like a decade..not a
    single clue what the product capability is and how it looks like. they
    keep bulshiting with the word mixed reality when this is the same thing
    microsoft pushing for almost a year already when hololens came out

    I can use my own imagination and come up with better imagery "behind" the eye. It is novel and gimiky in that the images created by all these companies are still limited to a program or copied visuals that will in no way stimulate my own imagination in any real sense of the word. it's really just like television without a screen. it is cool but would soon become boring, redundant, and become simply another empty time waster with no real lasting value in the eternal perspective. The potential for abuse is extreme and borders on drugless hallucinogenic addictive behaviors especially in the areas of pornography and perversion. but of course we know "everything is awesome" and morals are a thing of the past...hey look my neighbor just lost his soul and the world is on fire! cough cough. Kind of cool but I am waiting for when the Messiah comes back in the clouds of glory and I can play with all the animals, drink the renewed waters He will create from the ground up out of the Mt. of Olives in Jerusalem, and I will use the old technology and factories abandoned for materials to make giant rock'em sock'em robots after the day of His glorious appearing during the 1000 year reign He and all His faithful ones who rule with him. Technology.. Humph...we can't even breath the air or drink the water, good sign we ain't as smart as we thinks we is. Repent and be saved from the perilous times to come most loved neighbors.

    The truth is there is no difference between augmented reality - blended reality - mixed reality - or any of the other emerging terms that are coming out ... every time someone tries to define the difference they contradict themselves ... it's embarrassing
