Disclaimer, long. From what I'm able to observe, super troops like the Ice Hound are GOOD, just not really necessary. The hounds become maxed at TH13 and begin to lose their effectiveness past that, which likely explains why no one is boosting it at TH14+ or in esports. The same goes for Super Giants and you'd only really see them at TH12-13. Once you get root riders there isn't really a point in trying to utilize the Super Giant's ability to bust down walls better. Statistically, the Super Giant is better in every way and even has MORE than twice the damage and HP despite ONLY being twice as big. They just aren't really necessary and there are better tanking options. They just won't perform as well as a root rider attack in Esports. As a long time Valkyrie user, not even I like the Super Valkyrie. In my opinion, it's the only troop that doesn't exhibit the necessary value for its housing space. In other words, it's too big for how little damage and HP it has. It may be safe from spring traps to prevent bad rage drops, but every other stat is bad in comparison. The Rage is also capped at lvl4 and is small, making it less effective at higher TH levels. The more you bring, the less value you eventually have and the best way to use them is to bring just 1 or 2 with your normal valkyries or main army. A main push consisting of just super Valkyries is wildy inflexible and just doesn't work. I think that's how the troop was designed: purely supportive. 20 housing space seems to be the "support troop" housing space because the Apprentice Warden is exactly the same, and you wouldn't typically bring more than 1 unless you're pushing from two different directions. I see the appeal of Super Wallbreakers, but the truth is if you're good enough with normal wallbreakers they become obsolete AND you can save housing space. I personally don't use them in any of my queen charges, but people still use them a lot for much easier wallbreaks. Super Barbs are fantastic in my opinion because they act as very fast funnelers and can even transition to your main force or act as great cleanup. The low housing space for their damage and HP is great. It's the only super troop I really use. Inferno dragons are situational. They were only really popular against teasers where the TH was easily reachable with 1 Inferno Dragon and you could just freeze the TH as needed and snipe it. Since hero equipment was introduced, this strategy isn't necessary anymore. Super witches and rocket balloons are still popular in esports. Super minions are mostly a CC troop there, also. I don't see too many super archer attacks in esports right now, or just high THs in general. Super Hogriders aren't niche but it is an option, and many players just don't do those attacks higher up it seems. Super Gobs, wizards, miners, bowlers and dragons aren't too popular in esports right now. Super Gobs and super wizards aren't necessary, super miners and super bowlers get torn up easily by the new defenses at TH17, and regular dragons are just being used instead of super dragons in the esports scene. Just unnecessary. Again, hero equipment has changed the game more than we realized. I think in the future we'll actually see some changes to some of these super troops. The Super Valkyrie has been at the bottom for a long time and some ideas to make it more useful depends on if they want to keep the housing space at 20. Obviously not all of these ideas could or should be implemented at once. -Bigger Rage radius. -Rage level of super valkyrie matches your actual Rage spell level. -Slightly more HP. -Slightly more damage. -Passive Rage Aura that either effects only other valkyries or every troop. -Revert movement speed back to 28 (from 24). Alternatively, they can lower the Housing Space to 16 so we can bring a little bit more whilst also considering the aformentioned ideas. This would make them vulnerable to spring traps, which could potentially waste rages, but that's already a problem with ice golems and their freeze ability. As for Super Giants, I don't really know. Their purpose as a tank is overshadowed by other, better tanks and they just don't have a place at higher TH levels. Cheers.
As a near maxed TH13, the only super troop I use are the Super Dragons. High health and damage, and can help absorb some of the damage from those pesky Inferno Towers.
In the old days before overpowering hero equipment, super troops provided massive situational advantages which would really help in achieving a 3 star. Nowadays the game is so easy because of hero equipment there is really no reason to learn to use the various super troops. Just spam hero equipment and you will 3 star every base.
@@JacobClashes at least to a lower townhall (12,13), the dark elixir is keeping up with the demand but barely. But those townhalls are the hardest to max heroes.
I mean I really like ice hound as a defensive troop. It slows down queen charge massively if not outright kill the queen. It also ranks heavily against other attacks and gives defenses quite a lot of time to attack
I feel like this video accurately explains some of the biggest flaws in Super Troops as a whole and why I don't like to use them either. The idea of paying Dark Elixir makes sense, but it's too high of a price for the little benefit most of them give, and it lasts for only 3 days to the point where it's just easier to try a different strategy... (Granted, I'm not going to say I'm good at strategy in this game especially, but I'd also rather not have to pay 25K Dark Elixir for a troop I can only use for 3 days, and it have small benefits)
90% of players don't have the time or simply don't care about getting good at strategizing. They just want to watch funny numbers go up and things go kaboom with the massive dopamine hit of getting 3 stars at the end.
Another thing is that the price you pay is not high, but you will feel like you wasted your dark elixir on an attack you have never performed. Also, it is not reliable at all to depend on a strategy all the time that is behind a paywall, making players scared to try supertroops, especially us F2P who are always scarce on Dark Elixir.
I honestly hate paying to temporarely unlock them. I just ignore them because of this. If they were free or a permanent unlock thing, i think the playerbase would use them all the time and come up with more attack strategies for each of them over time
I think there are a few main reasons that some of the super troops have such low use rates. 1. The 25k DE cost. I think this is tolerable, but for a casual clasher who does just their daily star bonus and maybe a war attack or two, this is a pretty major sink. Personally, I feel like they should add different durations to unlock the super troop for, costing different DE amounts, as well as make the cost a little lower. I feel like if we had options like 2k DE for 2 hours, 5k DE for 10 hours, 10K DE for 1 day, 20K DE for 3 days and 35K DE for 1 week, usage rates in general would go up. 2. The 2 super troop limit. Because of the hard limit on the number of super troops that you can have unlocked, a majority of players are funneled into using the most useful ones, where Super Wallbreakers and Sneaky Gobs dominate for funneling and farming reasons. There is also the obvious aspect of if we let everyone use how many ever super troops they want, it would become a balancing nightmare for SC. So personally, I think for TH11/12, There should be 2 super troop "slots" that you can use, then for TH13/14/15 there should be a limit of 3, and finally for TH16/17 there should be a limit of 4. This would encourage super troops to be used a lot more. 3. Finally, some of the super troops are pretty underwhelming, and need reworks or buffs to compete in the meta imo. I think the clearest example of this is super giants and super valks, which both have the lowest use rates not just of super troops, but troops in general in the game. This is because of usage difficulties, or not a well enough defined niche. I have a lot of rework or buff ideas for a good chunk of the super troops, but that probably warrants a much longer write up that I'm not sure anyone would be interested in. Edit: Super Witches are among the strongest troops in the game right now, atleast for TH12-15. I can regularly use super witch smash and three star maxed bases a full TH above mine with decent regularity.
The main reason I very rarly use super troops is simply I have much better things to spend dark elixer on, especially with the introduction of hero pets which also require dark elixer to upgrade. I do like super wall breakers and super hog riders arn't bad. And, of course, super goblins rock for farming.
I'd love to use them more but the 25k dark elixer needs to go to upgrading all my heroes and pets. The only one that's worth doing that to are the Goblins because they can pay back that 25k after like 3 attacks.
This video feels like it was made 2 years ago in terms of what I’m about to say cuz sWitches, sBalloons, sBowlers, sDragons are some of the strongest troops in the game the past 1-2 years or so and at least at the higher townhall they’re used pretty often especially in legend league and cwl. Forgot about super hog riders but they’re pretty great too.
biggest thing you didn't talk about is opportunity cost: you can boost a limited amount of suer troops, so why boost the bowler, valkirye or giant when the walbreaker, goblin and balloon are right there.
Super witches/ Rocket loons/ Hydra / Root riders all i see in legends 5500-5900 and root riders almost always include super barbs super troops are basically in every attack
Before watching the video, I think the biggest reason is that there's only two slots and each slot costs DE which is discouraging to players. I have wall breakers active 24/7, so I only one slot to play around with. And that one slot is taken by sneaky goblins 3/4th of times. They should do something like pay 25k/50k DE to unlock *all* super troops for 3 days.
well some troops are highly used at higher townhall levels. For myself im a Superminer enjoyer :D At TH 14-16 Superminer are kinda nutz and underrated imo but they are weaker at th17 since the base designs are different. Sbarb are kinda used in every attack so clear buildings like Sgobs. Troops like SMinions SArcher SLoon SValk are just Clancastle troops for attacking. I tested alot of troops but some are just so intense to perform it isnt worth the gamble. I use uncommon troops but some are better than others.
Me at th10: "ice lavahound is broken! It's strictly better than the normal one!!!" Me at th13: "I'll use one normal lavahound, just so it can trigger air traps"
I use super barb and archer a lot, sometimes using super barch or using s. Barb funneling super archers to go into center of base even in clan war or CWL they aren't useless, but i understand why they rarely use because they consume dark elixir a lot
I'm still in TH13 as I'm upgrading hero's but I've been using super hog riders with a queen walk. Much more fun than e drags and I get a 3 star pretty much every time.
To costly to get and to much housing space required are the biggest two reasons for me. And besides super archers I don't really use any super troop. And with the new thrower behind some yeti's or electro titans, even the super archer is easily replaceble
I was just having a quick look through comments, interesting vid and a lot of ppl in comments talking about SWitches/RLs and I am 6k trophies this season and often get attacked by super troops, SWitches/SDragons. Some are really strong and dont need buffs. I myself have used both SWitches and RLs as attacks in the past legend league seasons and those attacks can be very strong but require extremely high skill. I think supercell said they were doing a rework or change to how super troops would work but if they're not than its definitely something they should look into. I think most super troops probably don't need a buff
Its because of their insane housing space. Because a troop like the super witch isnt super good, but it could fit into some armies really well but it tales up 50 housing space just for practivally a giant that can respawn!
Most super troops used - super wall breaker, sneaky goblin, rocket loons, super dragons, super barbarians, super minions and lastly super dragons like the pros i havent seen super baby dragons now a days but with the buff of dragons and also super dragons its used now but the others super troops are rarely used and base style and super archers though rarely used now a days but for lower th like th12 and high the blimb and super archers combo is a go to strategy and with the blizzard
Tbh, idt the stats reflect whether the troops are good or bad, at least in higher level and/or in pro scene. I kinda agree with S.Giant and S.Valk being underpower but other things just don't align with the stats. Let's be real, the last time u saw someone use S.Archer and S.wiz was during th15 wc in Nov 2023. Ppl will just choose S.Minion over them. Same goes for S.Gob, ppl will choose S.Barb over it any day when u actually "do attack" and not like farming. Ice hound has seen some uses as defensive cc and as an alternative when u have minimal spell supports. S.Miner is an excellent defensive cc choice when u r baiting a Warden charge and we have seen a lot of uses. And holy hell saying that almost noone uses S.Witch should be illegal lol, that's like 40% of all attacks since fireball release, the other 40% being Rocket loons and 20% of something else.
I am TH13. I use super hog riders. I 3 star roughly 95% of the time by boosting super hogs and super wall breakers. QC with flame flinger is just really good. I used S witches at th12 and they were really good as well. Just goes to show that much of the CoC community just spams e drag and force quits
even with my TH 15 attacks, i am always always rocking 2 super troops! super witches and wall breakers! i go crazy in war and in pushing. they are great
Ice hound isn't bad, it provides more health for a higher housing space and gives a freeze on death, it's worth it for the housing space, super witches and loons are very strong though
4:40 he said that they should make the ice hound the same housing space as a regular lava hound. If that were to happen, might as well just not have the lava hound
@ someone one day tried making the common excuse to argue about Super Wall Breakers that “BuT cOsT 25,000 dArK eLiXeR.” It’s really not that hard to make back with like what 10 minutes of playing? Plus it’s fun to just watch them roll around
I think its the 25k dark elixir cost. Obviously most players arent maxed and are casuals, so they dony play enough to get that 25k dark elixir back. Hence why the sneaky goblins get used the most because you just have to spam a couple of them and they are specifically for farming
At th13 I use a single super miner in my log launcher, it’s actually pretty good (I use a lava loon attack) and it does a good job at getting the deeper defences
Never seen that used before, sounds like it would fix the problems with super miners (they can’t get to core defenses) but seeing that you used a log launcher/drill their bombs would actually get value
Super hogs seem to be decent at th15. They're tanks enough to not die faster than I can drop the heal spell. Pair it with the overgrowth spell and bam. I have good pathing
Nothing wrong with any of the super troops (minus super giants). The player base is just too lobotomized to use anything other than dragon spam. Even super valk can be somewhat decent in smash attacks
Supervalk would be better off having a rage spell aura around her while alive like warden except smaller and weaker, maybe half the size and 1/3 of the damage boost.
Super wb, rocket loons, super witches and super barbs are all used in top legend attacks Super wiz and super archers are still good inside a blimp Super minions are the best defensive cc troop You saying that sneakies are the only thing being used makes 0 sense, the best super troop isnt even sneakies it's super wb The only super troop that is actually trash is super valk
sneakys n r good for farming, funnelin n sbarbs for funnelin too swallbreakers r in almost every attack, super drags n witches are meta, rocketloons r strong, icehound is good in sui lalo, super minions are good in cc with siege or flameflinger, super hogs are used in twin hogs still n sometimes in cc while attackin and super bowlers r solid strat still
Pros use super troops in esports just to shock the crowd & make it interesting. in reality, they would all be using the most OP attack strategy and that would be all we see
Sneaky gobs and super wll breakers are just too useful to get the other ones... Like i can farm loot with it or snipe townhalls for like what? 30 housing or less? So it's great for rapid trophy pushing.... And then we have the other super troops 💀 like damn they suck in comparison... The only decent super troops(archer, barb, rocket balloon, witch, hog, wizard) since they can offer good value when used correctly
Maybe I have skill issue, But in my opinion, regular dragons are much better than super dragons. With regular dragons I can get 3* 90% of the time, but with super only like 60% of the time (th15)
@koxukot yeah, I use both in my attacks. I only started playing clash at the start of the haaland event (I'm like 3/4 through th12 rn) but I've known about it for like 6 years

- Wall Wrecker
- 6 Bat Spells
- 4 Freeze Spells

GEAR
King: Giant Gauntlet + Vampstache
Queen: Magic Mirror + Healer Puppet
Warden: Eternal Tome + Rage Gem (ground mode)
STRATEGY:
Draw a line from the TH, through the Eagle to the edge of the map
Place 2 Super Witches with healers at the edge around the line you drew, wait 5s
Place down Wall Wrecker in line with Eagle
Once first layer of walls is open, spam everything down, heroes and healers last, to make sure they go onto the queen
Freeze any infernos that lock onto either heroes or wall wrecker
Once Eagle fires its first few shots, before they land activate Warden ability
When King and Queen health go below half activate ablility
Drop bat spells on weak positions on the outside of the base by the time the wall wrecker goes down
Freeze any wizard towers aimed at the bats
Poison and freeze CC troops (if any)
Should be able to knock out most Th12s with relative ease. Works on Th13s to some extent if you can manage the scattershots.
Vamp and Giant Gauntlet paired with warden's passive abilities make for an almost invincible king, queen is most vulnerable and may be swapped out for Minion Prince

High health and damage, and can help absorb some of the damage from those pesky Inferno Towers.
super drags are heat
@@JacobClashesno pun intended
@@deplayed_ 😏
In the old days before overpowering hero equipment, super troops provided massive situational advantages which would really help in achieving a 3 star. Nowadays the game is so easy because of hero equipment there is really no reason to learn to use the various super troops. Just spam hero equipment and you will 3 star every base.
There is no shortage of Dark elixir in higher Town Halls, I have been using Rocket loons instead of normal ones
yeah i said there was a DE Surplus due to the updates lowering the costs
@@JacobClashes at least to a lower townhall (12,13), the dark elixir is keeping up with the demand but barely. But those townhalls are the hardest to max heroes.
Super wall breaker, sneaky Goblins, rocket loons, super wizard, super witches, super bowlers......
What's the point of super bowlers 😭😭😭
@@riccardodellorto4267 smash attacks
I mean I really like ice hound as a defensive troop. It slows down queen charge massively if not outright kill the queen. It also ranks heavily against other attacks and gives defenses quite a lot of time to attack
For me all the super troops are useless because they aren't electro dragons.
25k DE is actually huge as i dont play often and 25k DE for only 4 attacks at war is not worth it
I feel like this video accurately explains some of the biggest flaws in Super Troops as a whole and why I don't like to use them either.
Thank you for sharing :)
super witch smash is just so good... but idk why I don't use it anymore
w vid :)
Yeah a lot of people keep mentioning super witches in my comments maybe I underrated them
@JacobClashes big boys are badass..
they touch defenses
I don't like it because there's a big chance to time fail
Not useless. Just skill issue.
@@medievalbear22 so true man
Yeah thats why it has such a low usage
I'd love to use them more but the 25k dark elixer needs to go to upgrading all my heroes and pets.
The only one that's worth doing that to are the Goblins because they can pay back that 25k after like 3 attacks.
This video feels like it was made 2 years ago in terms of what I’m about to say cuz sWitches, sBalloons, sBowlers, sDragons are some of the strongest troops in the game the past 1-2 years or so and at least at the higher townhall they’re used pretty often especially in legend league and cwl. Forgot about super hog riders but they’re pretty great too.
5:57 You know what else is massive ?😏
biggest thing you didn't talk about is opportunity cost: you can boost a limited amount of suer troops, so why boost the bowler, valkirye or giant when the walbreaker, goblin and balloon are right there.
Super witches/ Rocket loons/ Hydra / Root riders all i see in legends 5500-5900 and root riders almost always include super barbs super troops are basically in every attack
Super Barbs used to be used alot as an alternative funneling method compared to Baby dragons but Supercell nerfed them.
sick
It's strictly better than the normal one!!!"
Me at th13: "I'll use one normal lavahound, just so it can trigger air traps"
I think most super troops probably don't need a buff
i’m a town hall 13 and use super archers and yeti smash but i never touch the others, other then drags for war defense
Its because of their insane housing space. Because a troop like the super witch isnt super good, but it could fit into some armies really well but it tales up 50 housing space just for practivally a giant that can respawn!
The sad part this year, we have no clashmas
5:59 massive?
😏
he is talking abt that low taper fade
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Some of those troops are used in cc and everyone's just 1 gem them if needed without boosting
True
Super Wallbreakers are great! My current army has Super Witches.
So, the Supet Miners don't get touched that much?
*7 Missed Calls From Drake*
*Invitation to the Diddy Party*
👅
This is all because of e drags and overpowered ltm troops
Super troops need a major rework to make them viable
Super bowlers, Super witches, Rocket Loons, Super Barbarians are still useful
most low level th often spam troops (drag), cuz their hero is always upgrading
Super archers are fire if you put them in the back.
I am TH13. I use super hog riders. I 3 star roughly 95% of the time by boosting super hogs and super wall breakers. QC with flame flinger is just really good. I used S witches at th12 and they were really good as well. Just goes to show that much of the CoC community just spams e drag and force quits
even with my TH 15 attacks, i am always always rocking 2 super troops! super witches and wall breakers! i go crazy in war and in pushing. they are great
"But the skew is MASSIVE. Like MASSIVE right now"
MASSIVE
Ngl superwitch isn’t that bad
People prefer to make a linup with Ed or dragon and see them go through the entire base
5:58 and you know what else is massive...
30 and 35 aren’t the same number 😔 I think u got ur math wrong man
1 reason: super wallbreakers take up a slot
Ice hound has a permanent spot in my balloon spam.
There's a reason as to why i sold all of my super potion (I'm Th10 and about to be Th11)
Nah Super Wall Breakers are still good cause even if they die it’s a garenteed breach in the wall
I said dat in da bideo, it’s the most used one
@ someone one day tried making the common excuse to argue about Super Wall Breakers that “BuT cOsT 25,000 dArK eLiXeR.” It’s really not that hard to make back with like what 10 minutes of playing? Plus it’s fun to just watch them roll around
I think its the 25k dark elixir cost. Obviously most players arent maxed and are casuals, so they dony play enough to get that 25k dark elixir back. Hence why the sneaky goblins get used the most because you just have to spam a couple of them and they are specifically for farming
bro high level or legends in general this last year the super witches were dominating, i was getting attacked 6/8 times by them
I’m always using super dragons, they’re pretty good
At th13 I use a single super miner in my log launcher, it’s actually pretty good (I use a lava loon attack) and it does a good job at getting the deeper defences
Never seen that used before, sounds like it would fix the problems with super miners (they can’t get to core defenses) but seeing that you used a log launcher/drill their bombs would actually get value
guess I'm the only super miner champion out here
ngl i wish they had the inferno effect like in clan capital
Super Valk user here honestly I just use her cauz I am a sucker for muscle mommies and she is a baddie in both way of being hot and a bad troop
based
Bro watt
I would use them more if it wasnt for the 25k dark elixir for single use. I personally just use s.wall breaker, s.barbs and witches
The only super troops I can't find use for are super giant, valkyre, miner and bowler.
All the other super troops I know how to use.
super bowler smash though😏
super witch smash is easily top 5 attacks in the game.
Super hogs seem to be decent at th15. They're tanks enough to not die faster than I can drop the heal spell. Pair it with the overgrowth spell and bam. I have good pathing
Didnt super hogs get nerfed?
Super troops housing space is too much
Nothing wrong with any of the super troops (minus super giants). The player base is just too lobotomized to use anything other than dragon spam. Even super valk can be somewhat decent in smash attacks
I've been using super bolwer attack for more than 1 years😂
also the ice hound spawns way less pups for no reason
Problem is the housing space
I've been using super drags for over a year now
if the data were only top players super witch would be at like 25% tho
What?? Almost every meta attack uses super troops
I said that in the video
@ ah hell then that’s on me for not watching the full thing
Supervalk would be better off having a rage spell aura around her while alive like warden except smaller and weaker, maybe half the size and 1/3 of the damage boost.
Other than sup gaint and valkyrie ..every other sup troop is pretty useable ..if not in attacks then for war cc
The problem is if your base is not maxed why would you use any other super troops besides SNEAKY gobbies
Not me🙌
Super wb, rocket loons, super witches and super barbs are all used in top legend attacks
Super wiz and super archers are still good inside a blimp
Super minions are the best defensive cc troop
You saying that sneakies are the only thing being used makes 0 sense, the best super troop isnt even sneakies it's super wb
The only super troop that is actually trash is super valk
They should realease Super Troop variants, like super bat witch, ice wizard, super bowlaer wallbreaker, triple arrow shooter super archer etc.
Id be more willing to experiment with them if they didnt cost DE
Super troops is very strong my problem is that i cant bring more 3
25 000/3day is too much with already 4 heros to max and all troops
sneakys n r good for farming, funnelin n sbarbs for funnelin too swallbreakers r in almost every attack, super drags n witches are meta, rocketloons r strong, icehound is good in sui lalo, super minions are good in cc with siege or flameflinger, super hogs are used in twin hogs still n sometimes in cc while attackin and super bowlers r solid strat still
Super troops broken but dev nerf and people don't touch again 😂
If it would cost 15k instead if 25k i would more often use them
Real
Where is that rate chart from?
supercells releases, im pretty sure I found it on clash reddit
The main reason:only 2 slots available
personnaly love the super hogs ! Have 3 star a looot with them when i was th 15 few months ago
Bruh super witches and super loons are lit the meta in eSports ....💀
Pros use super troops in esports just to shock the crowd & make it interesting. in reality, they would all be using the most OP attack strategy and that would be all we see
@JacobClashes both super witches Nd Rocket loons are better than root riders RN
I have took a break from game for my studies but i still watch your videos ❤
Thanks bro
Sneaky gobs and super wll breakers are just too useful to get the other ones... Like i can farm loot with it or snipe townhalls for like what? 30 housing or less? So it's great for rapid trophy pushing.... And then we have the other super troops 💀 like damn they suck in comparison...
The only decent super troops(archer, barb, rocket balloon, witch, hog, wizard) since they can offer good value when used correctly
I still use super drags in my main army 😂
Super drags are actually one of the only super troops i trained for trophy pushing Theyre very strong but got nerfed a lot 😔
Maybe I have skill issue, But in my opinion, regular dragons are much better than super dragons. With regular dragons I can get 3* 90% of the time, but with super only like 60% of the time (th15)
@koxukot yeah, I use both in my attacks. I only started playing clash at the start of the haaland event (I'm like 3/4 through th12 rn) but I've known about it for like 6 years
Should be lowered the town hall level of the super troops? 🤔
