hi Jimmy, i really appreciate your channel it giving me the courage to become a pilot, thank you. now I will like to know what was cheapest airplane you bought and fixe?
Aviation isn't the Hobby that you buy " the cheapest" thing of anything keep that in mind my friend.. be safe and follow through your dreams of being a pilot it's worth it
Another small cessna airplane flipped over at the end of the runway and exploded. The man on board was from Arkansas and was picking the plane up after buying it from Wichita Falls, Texas. I'm glad you fully check your aircraft out before taking off. I've seen you give those planes a thorough check out and that's great. Be safe, have good flying, which you do. Such a great pilot and mechanic you are Jimmy!
22:26 Doug DeMuro and two nods to Vice Grip Garage at 31:57 & 34:33... I'll have to re-watch because the Sunday afternoon couch monster lulled me into a shameful slumber. There was a great deal on a Musketeer but I steer cleared for probably the very reason why Brandon was parked - that unique engine.
Being an old retired auto mechanic and knowing virtually nothing about airplanes other than flying around with friends in Cessna 172s earlier in my life, I am enjoying your forays into getting tired old airplane engines restarted and learning about all the wonderful government regulations on their operation. Recently I moved to much closer to you at Lake Panasoffkee where most of the "flying around" with airplane engines is on airboats. By the way, at marker #50 you were wondering what the "potato" was. That is affectionatley referred to as an "air potato" which is a highly invasive plant found in abundance slightly farther north (like Jacksonville). Don't try to plant it elsewhere or you will NEVER get rid of it.
Jimmy I think it would be awesome to spend a day with ya around your planes. I used to own a 1968 piper Cherokee 180. But had to get rid of it after I got out of the Army. Now I drive a semi for a living but would much rather be flying which gas been my life long dream. Would be honored to met ya sometime. Love your channel.
You make me laugh man! I’ve been around aeroplanes most of my life and your approach to these little gems is proper comical! I too get a bit sentimental over these machines, I have a piece of aluminium on my key ring that used to be a B747-400, last time I flew it was from Vancouver BC to London Heathrow, now it’s just coke cans… keep it up dude.
Love your projects. They remind me of a cousin who was a crop duster, but also watched aviation publications and when he could find 3 or more .... say..... Cessna 120s that crashed within a 500 mile radius he'd call the owners, wheel and deal with the insurance companies, and if the prices were right he'd send a flatbed truck out to load up the wreckages and bring them back to his hanger in Alabama. Then he'd built one plane from the pieces, They'd have a red strip here, green stripe there, and some fabricated panels as needed. Once he finished and got enough air time on it to get it certified, then came the paint and he'd then sell it for a tidy profit.
This has got to be the best video I've ever seen!! Unfortunate that Brandon couldn't get those wings flapping. "Lights are on, but no one's home!" Keep the videos coming, love seeing the effort behind attempting to un-break the broken! If it doesn't fly, it dies!
Musketeer is what my dad flew around central Alabama in the mid seventies I was maybe 10 or 11 and he explored all the local airports looking for old planes. He was a machinist and airplanes was his life. Amazing the memories after 60 something , thanks. Remember seeing a J3 in the Bessemer airport for 125.00. Was in rough shape. I always wish he had brought that one home.
My experience with bendix mags.. if it sits for more than a month, the points need cleaning. I carried a burnisher in my wallet for years, just for that reason. Frankly, the past videos you did, I was incredulous that you got them to start without cleaning points.
I love working on cars and bringing them back from the dead when they are on the brink. The way Jimmy does the VGG bit to forgotten airplanes is fascinating and ultra cool IMO. Planes tho there's no where to pull over if she decides to throw a fit on the way home.....lol. Everything about them is just so damn expensive which is a damn shame as I wish it werent such an elite club. I'll bet there are alot of folks who would love to get into flying but just cant swing the price tag even on some serious piles. 310 prop for 30k??? C'mon man!

LETS.......GO.....brandon". By the way love the references to VGG.
You remind me of my grandpa. He had at least 3 airplanes and would take me to the airport to help him work on them. I never got to fly with him. His hearing was getting bad so he couldn't fly anymore. I now have his 1970 vw Squareback we would go to the airport together in. Wish I got one of his planes but he didn't know I would take a interest in learning how to fly. He donated them to a college for students to take apart and put back together.
I love this stuff, can't stop watching :) My dad used to take me flying single props when I was a kid. Not gonna bore anyone with details but he had to quit flying way too soon. He also was a gearhead like me, thinking anything is possible, so I can relate 😀
On the last attempt to spin the starter, you CAN see a spark on the rear lead for a split second while the camera has the right angle. NOT totally no spark.
I love optimism as much as the next guy, but ... it occurs that these things need new parts once in a while. At $160 per bolt, unless you can make (weld together, machine, etc.) your own $2 bolts, yer treading-water 2 or 3 feet under - give or take. In solution mode now: when you walk up to another plane, you need: 1) an external fuel rig - gravity or pumped new fuel, rubber hoses, etc. 2) spark - aka wires, plugs, external electronic distributor, you want to be able to by-pass everything until you can troubleshoot working back until a running engine stops running. 3) These parts are from the 1960s and yet you act like MTBF isn't a thing; every moving part here (distributors, fuel bladders, wires, hoses, etc.) are probably beyond their recommended service life - and its an airplane, a single-engined airplane, so you don't.want to risk. If the plane doesn't, then your wife will and should kill you. 4) shop-vac and pressure washer, fans, and black-mold rated ventilators. That interior roof needs pressure washed carefully 5) A garbage bin - all of that old moldy crusty carpet has to come out and it needs clean. I'm not saying stop, I'm saying to only go in like an unstoppable force of nature.

59:55 Hell yeah, brother! The one and only Cleetus McFarland letting those bald eagles rip! Many others clued into the Vice Grip Garage "sparkalator" reference. Didn't notice any others but I only watch a few YT channels. Wish ol Brandon would've started...😭
My absolute favourite Aviation channel on TH-cam, Jimmy, thank you so much for the laughs 🇬🇧
This was over 60 minutes of fun filled Brandon shots. You earned a subscriber today Jimmy! I'm just surprised 'Brandon' didn't poke you. He seems to like to poke people unnecessarily.
Your ilk is so easy to grift. If you hear your favorite three word chants, you will toe any line.
@Jamie Galvan I scoffed when he said that. Smart people need a little more than that. When have you ever heard attendants chanting "Build Back Better!"? Where are all the YES WE CAN hats? You are sycophant snowflake sheep. You would commit sedition if you saw a big enough crowd doing it.
@Jamie Galvan Do you not trust science? The field that constantly says "Prove it."?
Some abortions should be mandatory.
@Jamie Galvan The Center for Disease Control? Do you understand the difference between gender, and sex?
@Jamie Galvan ... and prevention. Center for DISEASE CONTROL and PREVENTION. what do you think their agenda is?
As ret@rded as I am, I am by no means stup!d enough to explain it to you in a way that you can understand.
I'm not a plane person so imagine my surprise when I found out that a framing hammer is an aeronautics tool!
Same thing I was thinking
Never heard of an airframe??
@@tomrude1288 bwahahhahaha 👌🏻
Jimmy.....LOVE your videos and your energy!! I know very little about flying but for some reason I have become fixated through your enlightening and entertaining videos to the point where, at 59 years of age, I now want to learn to fly!! I live in Bermuda, so that's impossible to do here, so I will be signing up in the States this year to get myself a PPL. Thank you sir for your inspiration.
The way how jimmy got all these references past all the viewers is beyond me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Bro you are a legend. Keep the content coming
Let's go Brandon!
DAMN JIMMY, your did it again!! Doubling up the battery power on that kids vehicle... GENIOUS!!
Been watching your channel since Bertha's beginnings and loving it more and more. My offer still stands that it you are ever in Kissimmee I'll let you buy the beers especially since I'm not flying (service connected PTSD rules out a medical right now). I do have Disney tickets I can trade for a ride in the 210 though.
Oh, almost forgot, LET's Go BRANDON!!!!
Who would've thought that humor and aviation could come together. Awesome job! Fun and very informative a the same time! Carry on!
Jimmy is AWESOME and for more aviation humor, (He is a CFI) check out Rod Machado whom I had the honor of meeting at Oshkosh (EAA) :-D
hi Jimmy, i really appreciate your channel it giving me the courage to become a pilot, thank you.
now I will like to know what was cheapest airplane you bought and fixe?
Apparently this Doug DeMuro guy is copying Matt from Matt's RV Reviews who has been doing that intro for years.
Never heard of a 346 engine, but after looking it up I'm shocked. These had Continental IO-346s good for 165hp. Ya learn somethin' every day.
like to see pilots with a sense of humor, too many of us are always so serious, lol. Packrat nest is my vote, and they love wire insulation.
Not the dummest Jimmy. Ive learned so much in the way you inspect the heart of the aircraft. Thanks buddy!😉👍
The kids face during the start is priceless! Confidence in daddy - 0 :D :D
Jimmy
I think it would be awesome to spend a day with ya around your planes. I used to own a 1968 piper Cherokee 180. But had to get rid of it after I got out of the Army. Now I drive a semi for a living but would much rather be flying which gas been my life long dream. Would be honored to met ya sometime. Love your channel.
Thank you for your service sir :-D
Thank you sir.
I'm in reverse. Minus the service, that was my brother's calling. I drove trucks, but am thinking about becoming a pilot.
In the world of this didn't happen today we have a story from monty. Enjoy
This has got to be the best video I've ever seen!! Unfortunate that Brandon couldn't get those wings flapping. "Lights are on, but no one's home!" Keep the videos coming, love seeing the effort behind attempting to un-break the broken! If it doesn't fly, it dies!
...just like Brandon's namesake!
00:00 lucaas “Weekly dose of aviation”
00:32 mattsoffroadrecovery “So we got a call today..”
Nicely done!
Glad you know about the engines! You teach me something new every time I watch! Thank you!
Let’s go!! I guess Jimmy’s build back better plan ain’t going to take this plane anywhere other than a junk yard!
Lol nah. Take us to southern china
Haha.. no problem sending Brandon on a one way flight to China!
Vice grip garage of the air ! Great channel ! I love rough old car rescues, now I'm a fan of rough old planes too !
C'mon man!
If you love Derik you’ll love Jimmy too
“Went through the fancy checklist, always use your checklist” and “While that’s going on let’s go through the cockpit” funny reference to everyone’s favorite TH-cam pilot. 😜
Had no idea that I was into planes . Your videos has inspired me to go ahead and get a pilot license of some sort . Thank you
Get an Ultra light you need no license, provided you remember it's not a Redbull plane, like some baseball player....
34:25 …. Derek would be proud of the impression… now I am subscribed to you and Vice Grip Garage! And thank you for your service sir.
Almost fell off my chair laughing when that can went off. Thought we may have to call the paramedics for ya. That stuff attacks your liver, eyesight and purchasing judgement if left on the skin too long, hahaha! Funniest video yet

This guy is so effortlessly hilarious 😂😂 Definitely one of the best Aviation channels 👍
Jimmy, you are entertaining to say the least. The enigmatic and strange TH-cam algorithm brought me here and I've smiled and laughed more on your last 3 videos than any 10 fail or animal videos. Nah, I may not fly or be a pilot, but I am a mechanic and love all things aviation. So I'm hooked. Also, there's more corn in your sense of humor than a whole field of it. Just my style! Last but definitely not least, it appears you have your son deeply engaged which is Awesomeness man. Stay safe on the ground and in the air guys! I'll stay tuned.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jimmy, I see what you did there man! I see what you did there... and I agree with you 110%! Lol!
1:01:05 oh yeah....
34:50 Vice Grip Garage, he's my favorite... used to live 20 minutes away from me... also - laughing about the engine that only Russians and Chinese use. Just keep going! Keep Brandon around for a while, we need a little bit of Brandon disparagement every episode!
We better keep Brandon around, the plane wreck waiting in line to replace him is too terrible to contemplate.
Thanks for wearing the Navy Seal Foundation T-shirt. They are doing great work for our warriors and especially their efforts on blast injury research. Everyone please donate.
At 55:10 , if I caught the reference I think you were making, I absolutely LOVE it and your channel even more than I already did!
Brandon is like the Vice Gip Garage of the airplane world!!!💪🏼

I dont know jack shit about planes but i like vgg, since you said this ill stick around here too
Imagine derek working on a plane 🤣😂🤦🏽♂️

Doug and Vice Grip should be honored for the props.. haha.. I didn't catch all ten.
The "hard as a rock" potato thing is an oak gall. It's used to make ink.
First channel i have seen that truly recognised that TH-cam "changed" their policy to "suit a narrative" in regards to the dislike feature.....Truly blatant attempt to dictate to others how they should think about stuff....With 70-100million people who "sit on the other side of the fence" i am so surprised there isnt enough or more recognition of this fact....I truly love you skirting the edges of what they believe to be "proper" without getting yourself a ban..... LETS.......GO.....brandon". By the way love the references to VGG.
Don’t be shy about doing some “does it run” on those airport junkers.
Great episode 😀 Trying to get my head around a suburban area that has taxi ways for roads!
It's a fly-in community, or an airpark. Not exactly common, but not rare either.

love how the thumbnail for this video is the Cheapest twin engine plane you can buy that... you just bought! Love it!
I'm surprised he let you interview him
I’ve never seen an airplane drive down and residential street
I live on a private runway.
Happens every day
Great episode Jimmy! One of your best ever! 👍🤘
Florida fungus = Corrosion... Another great video!
I love optimism as much as the next guy, but ... it occurs that these things need new parts once in a while. At $160 per bolt, unless you can make (weld together, machine, etc.) your own $2 bolts, yer treading-water 2 or 3 feet under - give or take.
In solution mode now: when you walk up to another plane, you need:
1) an external fuel rig - gravity or pumped new fuel, rubber hoses, etc.
That interior roof needs pressure washed carefully
5) A garbage bin - all of that old moldy crusty carpet has to come out and it needs clean.
I'm not saying stop, I'm saying to only go in like an unstoppable force of nature.
This is possible. It's extremely tedious.
I heard ole Cleetus McFarland around there somewhere!
@34:34 I didn’t know if I was watching Jimmy or Derek. The lack of vice grips have it away though lol. Derek with VGG is on of my absolute favorite YT channels. I just found this channel, throughly enjoying it though! My wife and two kiddos will be planting a church in Alaska in about 18 months. My goal is to get a 4 seat high wing tail dragger before hand but not sure if it will happen. Keep up the good work my friend, thank you for the content and God Bless.
22:25 I Love the Doug Demouro impression, hahaha. Same goes for the Derek one. You're very well informed.
You need a logo that includes a hammer and a pair of vice grips. After all, such are commonplace items when performing pre-flight walk-arounds. ;)
There were a few Vice Grip Garage refrences.
Let's see if we can get "Brandon going again" lol. I love this.

You setting up to have that car drive by just as Noah was headed to the street must have had to have several takes on that one. The affect was awesome.....I was like "you cray cray old man, what are you thinking" lol.

You don't have enough in your garage to fix brandon! It'll take a PCM replacement, and his exhaust valve rebuilt.

If you look close at 1:00:03 it did spark. It was not at the end of the plug, it was at the connection right above it.
