Okay, if we're picking only one PdM, based on the ones I've smelled - Oajan. It beats out Herod only slightly. My wife loves Herod, while my 11 year old daughter adores Oajan. If smelled right off the skin, Oajan is quite earthy. But in the air, it's all dark honey-cinnamon. I live in Minnesota, so I can wear Herod and Oajan most of the year.
I love Althaïr. The orange blossom and cinnamon really pop in the opening. Vanilla is a given and lasts throughout. But that changes as well, in a good way. The praline is delicious but comes out later. This is no spicebomb extreme, it’s in a vanilla class of its own.

Hi Erica. I just tried Zefiro by Xerjoff. I like it a lot and will get a 9ml. I was looking for best frag with Iris. This has it. I also got a full 100ml of Dior Homme intense 2011. I heard the 2005 was even better. This is in my top 3 now. Amazing !!

PDM Althair is definitely in my top 3 from their line. It works with my body chemistry so well, lasts for over 8 hours and the dry down is very smooth and balanced.

Althair is kind of nice, but it is just plain vanilla. I think you could also go with Mercedes Club Black, or if you want more exciting vanilla Nishane Ani or Angel's share. It is not bad, but inferior to these imo. Haltane is awesome, but I am not a fan of oud. Therefore, I like Herod more. In the end, Carlisle is the best and most sexy from PdM anyways.
Althair is less "fresh" on the skin as on the paper. You need to test them all on skin tho, it is way better than on paper. For me Herod is the nr.1 and Althair did not top it.

My first bottle from PDM is Herod back in 2017, I fell in love with that bold peppery, tobacco leaf incense smell. Fast forward to 2023, I was deciding between Haltane and Althair, I decided to go with Althair because I still have my bottle of Herod from 2017 and its still amazing. I figured, I have something bold and strong and wanted something lighter and rich, and I love that bourbon vanilla scent. When I bought my second bottle from PDM, Althair, I asked the sales associate to give me a sample bottle of Haltane and she gave me one! Maybe that will be my next bottle or venture out and get something from Kilian or Oud for Greatness. Keep up the amazing reviews and content Erica!
Althair is great, but after a while, it is sickly sweet. I had covid, and I permanently lost some of my sense of smell and taste. The three fragrances that you are reviewing are actually my favorite, but I'm certain I'm not actually sensing everything about them. There are some other PDM fragrances that I can barely smell, if at all.
Not sure if i got a bad sample or what but i ordered the discovery set after before i bought too many full size bottles from then but haltane was not good at all. In the air it was bad but i still tried it on skin and it didn't help. Not a fan at all and it made me never want to try anything with oud again. I love herod and had the full size bottle. Also have and love Carlisle, layton, and layton exclusif. Getting a full size of the althair next as it might be my new favorite. Haltane though will not be in my collection.

Even as good as they are, Carlisle & Herod are too strong for me personally, so I love Althair very much, softer but still a little spicy with that 60’s vanilla vibe.

Herod 💯 over all PDM. Second place is Oajan. Third is Pegasus Exclusif Althair isn’t great. Just layer Layton with Mercedes club black and save your money. We all know that everyone has Layton anyway.
