    I'll be editing this comment to add timestamps for possible fun clips (since imagine it'll be a long video). Will make it easier I think if anyone does want to react to it ;) heh
    Finally editing, here are various time stamps. Broke it up between general advice for anyone and then Asmon specific stuff. Let me know if I should improve them in any way or missed anything fun.
    General Advice For Anyone:
    2:41 Tip to watch environment, rock trap specifically here.
    5:48 Explanations of number color types and where to hit monsters (even if white damage)
    8:30 Talking about sharpness and it not being a big deal (MR matters more, but not that big in LR, matters most about bouncing).
    13:28 Scout Fly suggestion
    14:42 tired monsters.
    18:45 Mount advice, Map aspects, Breaking Specific parts for loot (finish on the part you want to break).
    23:32 Slapping with great sword and some advice
    25:30 Jump attack advice with great sword
    29:12 some advantages for Ancient Forest Area 5
    30:00 More mounting advice to not get knocked off for an Anji attack
    31:22 Talking about "always be charging" with Great Sword
    33:00 Super man dive advice (so many invincibility frames)
    35:19 Talking about i-frames in general and skill to help it to be similar to Souls (Evade Window).
    36:40 Area 6 advice suggestion + sporepuffs
    40:49 Monsters when entering that zone always placed perfectly for rock drop.
    41:40 Thrashing about monsters and how it affects their hitboxes (hurtbox).
    44:48 hitting legs, even if white, still beneficial, case in point.
    45:13 Talking about damage on monster and noticing.
    46:08 Explaining mounting and its diminishing returns.
    52:05 Advice about monsters, limping, and picking up footprints to get icon on map of a skull to show it's ready for capture.
    53:55 If you want to stop a monster from running away, flashpod!
    54:56 Advice about another area with mushrooms on the side and specific weapons like Sword and Shield, Gunlance, Chargeblade, Bow, etc.
    57:06 Comments about limping monsters, letting them get back to go to sleep before capture or a big hit
    Asmon Specific:
    8:01 Asmon good natural dodging instincts
    9:51 Understanding about weapon and praising Asmon understanding to sheath weapon often.
    10:58 First death, even Rui didn't notice charged Anji.
    15:19 Thoughts on risking for True Charge Slash there.
    17:03 Mounting Anji
    24:40 Second Death
    26:50 Rui thinking how Anji acts different for him and Asmon.
    27:52 Third death, praises Asmon for getting right back into it
    32:29 Shoulder tackle praises
    34:00 Rui shocked at the crack this Anji is on.
    37:56 Rui noting it'll be a long hunt and why as well as the worry of being a streamer while playing
    39:35 Poisoned cause of the plant right after antidote
    43:00 Rui wonders how chat knows Anji's health
    43:42 Doesn't understand i-frames, Rui "pretend they don't exist as a new player."
    44:18 Praises Asmon's really good situational awareness
    47:11 - 49:35 First Death to Anji #2, DOING IT FOR THE GLORY! Be greedy and take chances!
    50:51 - 52:04 Fuck the chat, be greedy, AND THE TAIL CHOP! Needed to charge weapon more.
    53:15 - 53:50 Anji scared of Asmon! "No I don't wanna die!"
    54:01 - 54:50 Rui still amazed at strange Anji behavior (could be part of last, but kinda it's own thing)
    58:40 - 1:02:52 FULL SEND CHARGE ATTACK and ROARS! The end of the fight. Rui analysis
    As for another fight I think fun to watch/react, Rui:
    Nergigante was a great fight to watch.
    The Kushala Daora was a fight worth watching imo, but it will be another LONG video
    Teostra was pretty fun too, Asmon iirc likes the Teostra fight.
    If you want shorter stuff, I linked in discord the timestamps for first meeting of B52 Bomber buddy and the Angry Pickle :D
    I have personally been really enjoying Asmon's play through with every fight. Been great. He's doing a great job for a new player.

    I like you're actually adding value to the reaction by commentating and sharing tips and info about mechanics for the newer players man. Making a reaction video with just a bunch of "OMG!", "holy crap!", "holy shit!" spread throughout would be easy, but you go out of your way to make it informative and useful too (and of course, don't get me wrong, your reactions are also entertaining as hell).

    To expand on the Anjanath tips: Not only does breaking the Anjanath’s legs get you a topple, the legs also become soft spots which then makes subsequent topples easier to cause. When the Anjanath is charged up and ready to breathe fire, dealing damage to the head will cause what I like to call a “cinematic topple” where the camera pulls back.

      Absolutely. After playing primarily SnS, I had to learn this fact about his legs very quickly to have a hope of chopping the tails. His legs aren't great hitzones to start but they are definitely one of, if not the, best places to hit while he's standing upright for this reason.

    For the mountings, the game tells you if you have to brace, move or when you are free to attack. It tells you on the upper right where the controls are displayed. The buttons are glowing to tell you what you have to do

    • @tarrickmerdev2324
      @tarrickmerdev2324 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The display tells you what actions are available in your current state, but it doesn't tell you what you _should_ do. Except for one monster attack, changing position is always the best option and allows you to keep stabbing, allowing you to down the monster much more quickly.
      During a mount, you can change position to avoid every attack but the one that Rurikhan mentioned. That attack is only performed by brute wyverns. They'll step back and take a huge jump. It will hit every mount zone on the monster so you have to brace it. Every other attack can be avoided much more quickly by changing position. Additionally, some attacks that the monster does while you're mounted will knock you off (without reaching zero stamina) where your hunter will automatically grapple back on and bracing will not prevent getting knocked off, but changing position will avoid the attack and you won't be knocked off.

      @tarrickmerdev2324 No OP is right though it might have to have some like in game tips function turned on, and is maybe just usually on by default. But yes when youe mount a monster the button prompts in the top right change to show what ypu can do while mounting. And yes the defensive options to either brace or move will have a glowing box around the move you need to do to avoid being knocked off by the monster's attempt to shake you off.

    • @tarrickmerdev2324
      @tarrickmerdev2324 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jacobkrakowski His comment stated that the game tells you which between those you HAVE to do, that is not true because there is never one move that you HAVE to do except for that one particular attack that I mentioned. The display that you're talking about shows you what you CAN do, but you have multiple options. It does not, and cannot, tell you what you SHOULD do, only what your options are: stab, brace, or move position.

    One thing that makes Anjanath hard for beginners I think is the fact that when you make it fall down by hitting the legs or also (if you have IB) after a wallbang he gets up way quicker than every other monster. You don't even get a real opening.

    Anjanath is also particularly hard for greatsword - It's a very tall monster and even to though you got this huge sword it can be a struggle to reach the head and tail. Anjanath also gets up very quickly after being toppled making it hard to hit a full TCS combo.
    You can ofcourse adapt by focusing the main body instead of the tail/head and doing quick TCS combos rather than full charging all hits but it takes a few tries to learn this. To be clear, by doing a quick TCS combo I don't mean undercharging the final hit, you either undercharge to first two parts or do a tackle to skip one attack, the final part is the big hit and should always be perfectly charged (unless you realize that you've misscalculated your opening window and need to release it early to get the hit)
    The shord topple duration still messes me up every now and again as Anjanath is one of the quickest to rise monsters in the entire game.
    Finally for the record, I died to that breath attack multiple times and it took me several tries before I was able to beat Anjanath. It really is a hard fight when you're new to Monster hunter.

    Common misconception. The red eye on the minimap does not actually show if the monster is enraged. It just shows if it will follow you to other areas, which is 99.9% of the time due to it being enraged.
    The actual thing that shows if a monster is enraged is the heartbeat line below the monster icon to the right of the minimap.
    While the hammer can knock off barroth's scalp. (as well as other blunt attacks like GS tackle, hunting horn hits and exhaust vials), barroth's head still isn't a great spot for dealing damage. You'd rather hit the forelimbs for that.
    If you get thrown off during a mount, the button to resume is none. There is no button, it just happens automatically if you have enough stamina.

Anyone saying Asmongold should be shoulder tackling more is not remembering their own first 50-60 hours of playing Great Sword where they did a grand total of 0 shoulder tackles. This game has LAYERS bro, it'll come. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see Asmongold doing correct combos using the Sideways Slash and the Slap, which once you get top tier GS playing, you know to keep steady, small DPS going, and then create your windows for TCS. Playing ALL TCS ALL the TIME is actually way less DPS, but it's satisfying as all hell.

    also Rurikhan about the Anjanath Cinder Attack thingy, i think it might have something to do with differences of Hunter Ranks Moveset, like as u shld know LR/HR/MR all monster from differents Ranks Tier have added and extra moveset, especially on Master Rank. for example like odogaron Tail whip instead of just recovering after the Whip he will launch 1 more times to charge scratch at you. same might be the case here with the Anjanath.

    A tip: All capturable monsters naturally drops a slinger pod while you damaging them in spesific health tresholds which is total 3. When they drop the 3th ammo it is the sign that you can capture them which is around 30% of health (Do not mis understand me i am not counting the slinger ammo that drops after you do the clutch attacks.)
    + capturing monsters is a better way to finish a quest it gives extra one more monster material than carves + bonus research points and 30% less hit points to finish...

      @SerdarAkkilic หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Florjb0rjTheFloorboard Every monster (apart from dragons and Raging Brachidios) is capturable. There is not any single game rule that says you must slay instead of capture to get rewards. Capture, every time yields 1 more items than carve. So you always have an option to capture and game rewards you for that. But the opposite is true. there are quests where you need to capture a specific monster and you fail the quest if you slay it.

    Shooting pods on ground to distract unengaged monsters is such a top level cheese tbh. You can just run under them and keep shooting pods and it triggers their search animation over and over, so you're free to run up and clutch claw them without them starting a roar.

    11:55 This is my first Monster Hunter game and I'm gonna say it now "I never died to that attack"..... Though uh.... the weapon I'm learning the game with is the Insect Glaive.... Definitely seen my friends get nuked by it quite a few times though. I'm sure I'll get nuked by monsters with good anti-airs later though.
    Funnily enough I only died a couple times and it was because of his dash attack instantly killing me (Note, I forgot the existence of food until half way through coral area since friends started getting on my case for it [and saying good job on being able to get that far without food]. I wanted to get past tutorial sections first to save up money, which I did run out of in the coral area). Insect glaive can fly around a lot, but you do have to land a few times. Then I'd usually get insta killed after drinking a potion, sharpening my weapon, or sending the kinsect out.
    45:55 ish - Nice to know that mounts get harder overtime. Been getting more desperate as the fight goes on, nice to know that the mounts get harder. Since I'm using insect glaive, I've been prioritizing trying to get mounts so the monster gets toppled over for my friends to wail on it with 1 person being dual blades and greatswords for everyone else. So once a monster stops moving, it just melts.
    47:15 As someone who used to stream, I too am also someone that suffers from overcorrecting. Though it's not just from streaming, it's lack of time to play the game, and trying to keep up with my friends because we want to be around the same area, so I gotta squeeze out as much efficiency as possible. (This video is actually extremely good for helping me learn a ton of things I wouldn't have thought to look up, it's like a coaching session)
    Counterpoint to being too greedy, some games will punish you for hours/days for getting greedy, and people will eventually give up. It's a balancing act of being greedy and not greedy enough. I'm definitely someone that needs to be more greedy though. All that said, if you're playing great sword, and you're not being greedy..... Why the heck are you using the weapon? It's all or nothing with that weapon. EMBRACE IT!
    As a new player, insect glaive feels pretty hard to be greedy with, especially in a party. Don't wanna smack people with the sweeping attacks, which is part of the weak weak strong infinite combo. Generally I'm just trying to keep up with monsters by flying to them and bouncing off them. I maaay try adding some more descending attacks into grounded attacks more though.

  • @TheAdarkerglow
    @TheAdarkerglow 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the primary reason most people, at least myself, don't use the slinger to distract is that half the monsters I'm chasing I just outright attack, because they're weak and I'm in a hurry, or they detect me as soon as I enter the area they're in, so I don't get an opportunity.
    I believe the Charge Blade can also break the Barroth head with an Impact phial, but only with the Axe Mode and only with a charged phial. But you might mean a more severe break than I've seen.

  • @angriboi
    @angriboi หลายเดือนก่อน

    54:40 I am not even sure, who's nest that is. I've seen several monsters roaming around here. Rathalos, Rathian, Tobi-Kadachi and so on. And I thought, Rathalos' nest was the one all the way at the top of the big tree at zone 16.
    And about the thing about being greedy. I am a new player, I have killed my first Nergigante two days ago (after several Quest fails because of this sould crushing dive bomb of death) and killed seven more until now in order to get that impressive armor and weapon (I am playing SnS). It took me over 30 minutes to kill the first, the seventh was my fastest with slightly over 15 minutes. I just doubled my DPS by being greedy and pulling through that perfect rush, no matter if Nergi is initiating a mssive attack. If he hits me, he hits me. If he carts me, he carts me. But even in those few fights I did against Nergi, several times, I managed to interrupt his attacks just by continuing my combo and throw him back, giving me a massive time window, where I can just continue punching him. In those fights, I really learned to be confident in my fights, got a better positioning and just playing more offensively and more greedy.
    Rurikhan is absolutely f*cking right, BE GREEDY!!!

    Love these reactions, I just got into MHW (and action combat games in general, this is my first) and Anjanath was the first monster I carted on, made me realise I couldn't just spam my attacks (dual blades). I was fine from there all the way until Odogaron (2 carts) and then Rathalos (my first wall that I just finally managed to defeat after several attempts). It was the last reaction you made that helped me get this far because of your tip about sliding attacks, made the difference in several fights.

Positioning well. Tackling probably more than he ever has before. Getting good use out of the clutch claw. As well as starting to understanding how to make a proper build. Like he got paralysis immunity before the fight. He actually understands what a lot of his skills do now.
    Probably the only thing he could improve on is more tackling and learning to wall bang. We are at a point where people are spamming for him to learn cancelling now at the very least lmao. His chat has actually started to call tackling broken now because he is using it really well. He has hit a lot of really awesome tackles since. His acididic glavenus fight he is doing right now is clean as all hell
