    Hey Jimbo, I finally passed at Gregory Hills third time, I failed twice at the exit - t intersection and the inside parking lot. on all times I got 100% thanks to your videos, but I encourage other people to be careful in the parking lot as I feel it goes unnoticed, and try to relieve nerves as the first one was a very silly fail and only based on nerves. Im glad I found you at less than 100 subs and have been an early pioneer, and I will not unsubscribe, but still share your videos around to help you out, as you helped me. Thank you

      Hi Tech glad to here you have passed !!!! Yes that car park is a test in itself. There is one kerb that always get hit when turning left. At the exit there is often a truck that blocks vision. Yes you were a pioneer and thank you for supporting me. Currently doing the latest vid on T intersections and it's taking me way longer than I thought. Anyway stay safe and thanks for watching :)

    • @techunboxings4485
      @techunboxings4485 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Driving Test Guy NSW the main issue is had, was I tried to creep forward to see past the trucks, and the examiner thought I was going to go and “feared for his life”, and pulled the hand break, so I learned to always vocalise what you’re doing, that would be a good tip to mention

    • @thedrivingtestguynsw8424
      @thedrivingtestguynsw8424  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@techunboxings4485 Yes I do mention that, when on test and very bad vision to tell the examiner that you can't see and that you are just edging in to see better and do it very slowly otherwise exactly what happened to you will happen. Some examiners are more trigger happy that others. Anyway it's all done now you can drive :)

    I am soooo happy that letting it slip through your hands is allowed. I was really worried about this since I counted on this quite a bit

    Hey Jimbo, can you do a video on the hazard perception test? Like dos and donts? Also if you are ever up on the central coast the gosford service nsw is a tricky one as well because the stop sign is before the sidewalk and many people drive over it thinking the stop sign is at the curb

  • @ruopianfang9767

    Hi Jimbo, thank you very much for your instructive videos! I took the drive test yesterday but I failed, because I lose 11 points in speed management (other items are good, only lose 3 points). I am confused about the hazard response in the test, and I was wondering how the hazard was defined. I was told that when you are passing a long vehicle, or when you are approaching a pedestrian crosswalk, or when there is a vehicle waiting to pull out on your side, your foot MUST cover the brake and MUST NOT be on the accelerator as these may cause hazard. But during my test, my initial speed was already very slow due to the busy traffic. Then I came across a lot of the above "hazard". My speed was only 25km/h at that time, and I covered my foot on the brake. As a result, my speed was getting slower and slower. After the test, the examiner said that I was driving too slow so that I lose too many points on speed management and failed. By the way, the examiner only marked five hazard on the score sheet although I thought I met a lot of hazard. So I am really confused on the definition of hazard, and is the principle of "MUST cover the brake" right? If I am already very slow, can I be careful and accelerate slowly? Thank you very much for you patience and very nice help. Looking forward to your reply.

    • @thedrivingtestguynsw8424
      @thedrivingtestguynsw8424  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Ruopian. Yes it sounds like you over did the hazard response. The examiners only really mark actual and obvious hazards. Maybe tune this up a bit and slow and cover the brake for actual hazards ie kids standing near the road, car edging out from the side too far etc. Once passed these hazards pick up speed again.

    Hey Jimbo, I have my test at Wetherill park on Friday, and I am just wondering when I have a vision block at 1. Blind corners
    2. Blocked intersections
    3. Crests
    4. Poor weather conditions
    5. Space to side of vehicle is limited
    6. Speed humps, Chicanes
    7. Turning right
    What is the ideal speed to travel at ?

    • @thedrivingtestguynsw8424
      @thedrivingtestguynsw8424  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Fiona thank you for your questions. 1.Blind corners - If it is a 90deg turn and blind about 20km/h 2. Blocked intersections - keep 3 seconds behind car you are following and don't enter the intersection if it is blocked. 3. Crests - just shave an extra 5 to 10 kms off the speed and move a bit to the left then back when you can see again. 4. Poor weather, If very hard rain slow down alot maybe half speed. If just normal rain add an extra second to following distance and maybe shave 10 kms off bends. Maybe 5 kms off straight. 6 Speed humps/Chicanes - 25km/h 7. Turning Right - if safe about 25km/h.. These are all estimates as there can be lots of variables that may allow faster or slower.

    Hey man, about to have a second go at my test on Monday. Your videos have been real helpful at building my confidence back after I failed my first one (I thought I did really well but apparently not). I had a quick question, when you’re doing the three point turn and another car comes up behind you as you’re about to reverse but has stopped to give way to you, are you expected to finish the turn then or should wave to signal the vehicle to go around you. I’ve been told to do both. I’ve also been told to signal left while reversing in the three point turn which I’ve never heard before and was wondering what you thought of that. Thank you so much!

      Hi Rowan during the 3pt if a car arrives and waits for you then finish the 3pt. Don't wave them through. The only signals marked during the 3pt are the left pulling in and then right pulling out.

    Love the videos Jimbo. Would you mind doing a video on front and reverse parking in a parking bay? I still need to work on my parking bay skills as the car either often ends up very crooked or not evenly parked in the middle of the two lines. And also is it likely that we would ever be asked to park in a parking bay anytime during the test or is that not tested at all?

      Hi Sara I plan to work out a 90 deg parking video both forward and reverse in. These parks generally are not asked on the NSW P1 test. It's predominantly reverse parallel or some regional areas have 45 deg. (I'd anyone knows of a test route that has reverse 90 deg as a requested manoeuvre then please let me know) But.....at the beginning and the end of your test you usually start and finish with 90 deg park but this manoeuvre is not marked unless you do something dangerous.

      Hi Mary K. There is no Hill start manoeuvre on the NSW P1 test. However you may find yourself on hills ie Kerbstop, Traffic Lights. Just being quick off the brake and onto the accelerator is the solution in Auto. You don't need to use the Handbrake. Re rear to kerb. Some test routes can ask for rear 45 deg angle Park usually in regional areas. The testing manual references rear 90 parking but I know of no case of that. What is the test centre you will be using ? Is there angle parking nearby? Do you know anyone else who has done the test or had lessons tell you that there will be angle Park in those test routes ?
