- Is It Worth Buying Black Ops Cold War In 2024?
After the success of last years' video, I discuss in today's video whether or not I think it's worth buying black ops cold war in 2024, as I thought it would be cool to do an updated version, and also this might help to keep black ops cold war alive a little longer as we move towards the next Treyarch instalment later this year.

@@sohan6058gulf war won’t have tac sprint it’s gonna be the same as Cold War. Just like old days. Where all the mw and black ops games were separate engines but used the same ones for each addition of the franchise.

@@sohan6058 yeah I’m not a big fan of tac sprint myself however I don’t think it’s a big enough thing to make or break a game imo.

As far as I’m aware I don’t think you can play split screen on PC, but I could be wrong
This was a good MW2 type esc game from the BO series, really dug this game
Yeah I definitely think it had similarities to MW2, just in the Black Ops universe. The finished product now is brilliant imo 😎
So refreshing not having everyone sprint jumping around every corner
I know what you mean, definitely less of it on CW with the slower movement
All the time I'm seeing players sliding jumping round corners dunno how they move so quick
Don’t get me wrong jumping and sliding is still a big part of CW, but without tactical sprint its much slower compared to MWIII
i played cold war a TON during its lifetime on PS4, & i recently got a pc, so i got cold war again for PC, it's by far my favorite recent game, & being able to play it with max graphics & ray tracing is so nice, i've been really enjoying playing it again after how bad vanguard, MWII & MWII+I all are
Couldn’t agree more for me it’s miles ahead of any other cod game in the last 4 or so years. Just a shame it wasn’t great at release due to the rush to get it out. Extremely excited to see what Treyarch cook up with this years game considering they have had a full development cycle this time around 👌🏻

Unfortunately when playing it on ps4, there was a lot of issues, since I'm pretty sure it was never fully optimised.
Even though i have the ps4 pro, it still got extremely loud when playing coldwar {didn't happen with any other games}, it took forever to load anything, from gunsmith, to camos, to the matches, or even the lobby screen, & most importantly, the graphics on ps4 pro look very grainy, like if you were to turn film grain on MWII/MWII+I to 100%, which is ashame, especially considering the pro was only like, what, 3 years old @ the time of cold wars release?
But it was still enjoyable enough for me to pick up the game 4 years later on pc, so i could enjoy it some more
Yeah unfortunately I think both the XB1 & PS4 were just getting too old by the time this game released. I had exactly the same issue on MW19, my XB1 just wouldn’t run the game that well, so I upgraded to PC when CW released! Glad you’re still enjoying CW now and I bet the game must feel so nice on PC compared to the PS4!!

Ray tracing makes everything look so much nice too, & running it @ least double the FPS is also amazing, it's like a completely different experience
Yes it’s worth it. This is a fun game. The guns are actually good, infected is a great mode too.

Zombies was good on CW, Multiplayer still decent but definitely think the game might suffer when the new one drops

Just got another Xbox and tbh It’s not as horrible of an experience as I was expecting. SBMM really killed it for me the first time around
Yeah the SBMM at the beginning of the game mixed with the lack of content made it horrible to play
Cold War is amazing, great campaign, great mp , great zombies. The good thing is cross play is a thing so these cods will survive a lot longer than older ones
I know some people hate crossplay specifically with PC being included, but you couldn’t be more right definitely helps the games to last longer!
I hope pick 10 system comes back with the modern gameplay would be perfect!
Would love to see a return of the pick 10 system, classes are so over complicated these days!

I really liked Cold War. I woulldn't say it's better than MW1 or MW2, but it's atleast as good. Cold war is my most played by far of any of the last 5 games.
Yeah it’s definitely up there for me in a overall list. I think within the last 4-5 games it’s so far clear of all of the others
Funny thing is I never have packet loss or bs in Cold War, mwii and mwiii it seems I never know if I get on will it run well or will I be fighting packet loss and server lag the entire time, that right there puts Cold War miles above those games.
Same for me I’ve never had any issues on CW with packet loss but have suffered on both MWII & MWIII
After sweating my ass off through MW2 and MW3 I miss this game a lot. One of the best COD's IMO

Can you still get a lot of matches and find lobbies in CW? I can't seem to find much and if I do it's always a lobby that needs players
So not worth it ?
Considering how old the game is I can still find matches across most of the main modes, both with cross play on and off. Everyday is different and of course the waiting times are higher than a new game but it’s not normally more than about 2mins.
Just make sure crossplay is enabled
I actually find tdm matches faster in Cold War then I do in mwiii lol

Across Multiplayer, Zombies & League play I’m at about 712 hours 🤣🤣 my second most played cod behind MW2 2009
Would you say it is worth it for 20 dollars, because it is on steam sale right now and i wanna get it so bad but i dont know if 20 dollars are cheap enough. I would appreciate an answer
well generally speaking, cod games rarely go on sale and they hold their prices quite well. I believe that you won't find it anywhere for less money than right now.
I would agree with the above, it’s rare for cod games to go on sale and I think that’s definitely a good price considering the game is still playable
If you love CoD zombies, this game is unquestionably worth it. Cold War zombies is what Black Ops 4 wishes it was. Feels like the older brother of BO3. Has a lot of the same zombie animations as BO3, custom classes, and even faster movement. I do most of my play on solo if not, then with my brother or friend so can’t speak much to the co-op/multiplayer aspect of it but I don’t ever remember having to wait abnormally long to get into matches the few times I have played co-op
The campaign is also pretty great (in my opinion) and is chronologically the sequel to Black Ops if that kinda gives you an idea of what it’s about.
Couldn’t agree more, I’ve never been a huge zombies player but I really enjoyed Zombies on CW. I also have played a lot solo which is something I haven’t done that often in the past on zombies. I still need to try the campaign at some point, I’m so bad when it comes to completing campaigns 🤣
@@teeksy1939 I feel that, luckily I played at a time when I was in college and didn't do too much multiplayer gaming so I just did it in my spare time. Would strongly suggest especially if you loved the Black Ops campaign
Im still playing it and uploads videos and upgrading my prestige level and do EE zombies , so yea worth it . Oh and ( the servers works well ) so yea .

I've paid 20€ for it on steak. This will be my 1st cod in years after one of the sci-fi warfare games that made me wuit the franchise entirely. By the looks of it, I think that i will enjoy cold war. I assume it isn't getting seasonal content anymore? Nice video btw.

The truth is, I really liked this game, despite its sbmm, I love its multiplayer, it's well done, the weapons are balanced (although I think not) but hey, I like the maps and their zombies, not entertaining, I prefer to play these zombies than the ones from MWIII, well. video in my opinion one should buy it hehe
Love this! I think when you enjoy the core gameplay it allows you to look past some of the frustrating elements such as SBMM. We need round based zombies back!!

Yes there are still certain store items you can buy, however no new content will be coming to the game.
It’s it just me or was Cold War a major downgrade from modern warfare especially considering the attention to detail and attachments and customization
I think CW was a downgrade, on MW19 in terms of realism. CW wasn’t helped either by the fact it was a mediocre game at best in year 1. Much better now but definitely suffered when it should of been in its prime.

I'm installing this while watching this lol 20£ and I paid top wack for mw3 which is not very good, not interested in multiplayer too much just looking for a different shooter and found this the campaign is very good, apparently.

Scbmm is still a thing even in this cod lol haven't tried zombies yet but it puts mw2 mw3 to shame in every way, 9/10

@@teeksy1939 I really miss that old style of cod(black ops) that’s probably why I didn’t like it and it reminded me so much of Warzone/mw.
I think the game unfortunately suffered at release and they always put WZ first these days which is frustrating if you prefer multiplayer

Yeah I think over the course of the years Treyarch have always done a better job with the games and seem to care the most about the community. Excited to see what they have in store for us this year!

I would say it’s worth it if you can get the game on offer, depends also if you plan to get the new cod later this year straightaway or not.
@@teeksy1939 I got coldwar for free back in July as I only played the campaign. Not multiplayer or zombies. Been playing multiplayer about 3 days ago it’s kinda good tbf and feels like I’m playing the one and only bo2 with some of the old maps 🔥🔥 I haven’t played the new mw3 as I said it looks like copy and paste from mw2 22. Not sure what cod it is this year but i hope it’s a decent one would you recommend getting it 2 months after it comes out ?
Glad you’re enjoying CW, I don’t hate MWIII but if you didn’t enjoy MWII, it’s probably safer to stay on CW 🤣 it’s hard to say without actually seeing the game yet, but I think with a full development cycle this years game should be amazing, of course it will still have SBMM, but that’s out of our control! Time will tell 😃

Cold War was the best Multiplayer CoD in the past 5+ years. But hackers have killed this game multiplayer-wise. DO NOT GET IT FOR ANY SERIOUS MULTIPLAYER
Couldn’t agree more with the first statement! I’ve not really noticed a hacking issue in CW but your not the first to mention it, so hoping it’s not a sign of things to come 😔

Don’t play the the game. On PlayStation even with cross play turned off I still play against hackers If you are good at the game you will have no fun. The hackers are crazy on pc
Really? I’ve maybe ran into 1 or 2 hackers in my time on this game both on PC, I’ve never seen anyone hacking on console and from my experiences would say the game is fine on the hacking front

Don't Buy this game at some point you will run into some cheaters who will aimbot and wall you through the whole game if your going to make a video about a 5-6 year old game with some valid points at least point out the cheating problem in cold war as well so no one wastes their money on buying this 5-6 year old game this game was good in its prime but how it is now you do good and potentially get kicked from the lobby from a cheater or get aimbotted happens in search and/or tdm or any respawn game mode on cold war
The reason I didn’t mention cheating is because I don’t believe it’s a big issue. I’ve ran into 2 obvious cheaters in 4 years of playing Cold War. Unfortunately cheating is a big issue in gaming overall and I don’t think you will ever get away from it completely, but I can only go off my own experiences and for me CW is not overrun with cheaters.

The circumstances around making the game were not great but I think in the end it was a really decent game! Hopefully with a full development cycle this years one will be great from the start!
