  • If you do not have an automatic bilge pump in your boat? I suggest you invest in one. My old boat sank overnight at our dock. I learned a valuable lesson. I like these Johnson pumps and the cool thing about them is you can just change the cartridge to change the GPH. Its worth every penny! Ill attach the link for the one I used in this video! Thanks for watching. I hope this helps.

    I almost sank my boat on the first day of my vacation. The old " i put it in the wrong hole" it didn't click in my head why my automatic bilge pump would not stop pumping out water out of the side of my boat 🚢. Thank God I put on a automatic bilge put. It really saved my boat from sinking till I jumped in the water to put my plug in the wright hole 🕳️🤷

      Jeez. Glad it wasn't worse. My uncle did the same thing a couple months ago.

    I run two 800 gallon per hour pumps in my boat both are on dual setup. Never hurts to have more pump power in a emergency

      Absolutely. I have an installed 1100 gph but I also have an oh shit pump, it's a 1500 gph with alligator clips that I can just drop in and pump overboard

    Nice job - for your next project, it might be a good idea to install a fuse box or bus bar to consolidate all those wires running to your starting battery. You can even put it somewhere really accessible up front, and then run a main positive and negative back to your battery. Definitely helps keep things organized!

      I always install fuseblocks and switch panels in my builds. It looks like a lot of wires, but it's not that many. They are all for my graphs and the black box. They have to run directly to the battery. I dont want to get interference

    I always replace bilge pumps with the 1100gph. I like to think it will give me a better chance to get back to shore if the boat starts taking on water.

    I prefer to hook the battery wire to the ignition so the bilge pump doesn't activate accidentally and drain the battery, but I also don't leave my boat in the water overnight.

      Yeah, sometimes this boat sits in the water for 5-7 days at Lake Gaston.

    I have the exact same pump that I want to install however I was assuming that the base that you pop the cartridge into is screwed into the mounting plate on my lund. Nope its riveted. WTF. Why would they rivet a totally removable and replaceable bilge pump?

    • @TRICKEDTINS
      @TRICKEDTINS  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The housing doesn't have to be removed. Only the cartridge!

    can i wire the the negative wire and the automatic wire straight to the battery and leave the manual wire un-wired

    • @TRICKEDTINS
      @TRICKEDTINS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Test the float tho and make sure the pump comes on when you lift it

    What’s a Billedge pump? Billedge like Village? Lol!! Sorry man. But just as an FYI, people will tend to take you seriously when you pronounce the part correctly. Just a Bilge pump.
