Cho Mingyu sang this song in the Solo Battle in the 3rd episode of the Phantom Singer All Stars show (after Season 3) in the first quarter of 2021. I love his voice! His operatic training and experience really showed in this song. Wow! He is such a fine performer. Apparently he was informed that his voice type would never land him lead roles in opera---lucky us---he went into the popular world.

JTBC invited all the Phantom Singer finalists groups to the Phantom Singer All Stars. It was possible for the covid situation was serious, every concert was canceled at that time. There was a specific theme each round. (7 rounds in total) This was for the 3rd round, the theme was solo stage representing the group. Each group had 5 stages as a whole group. Forestella sang Time in a bottle, Je suis malade, Shape of you, a Snail, Inner Universe. And there was seasons' match round, mixed the members from other groups of the same season, 2 duets and 2 quartets competed versus other seasons' units. (Forestella members sang in 2 duets and a quartet with other groups' members.) In the beginning of the song, MinGyu set a drama like the clown (MG) was laughed at by the audience (of the scene), felt shocked, desperate, and anger. But the ah-ah-ah humming from the trumpet was crying for him, showing his emotion inside while he kept singing the lyrics, hiding his dark side. Through the Phantom Singer 2 audition MinGyu picked WooRim as his duet partner, won to duet of DooHoon & Julian Kim, drafted DooHoon as their trio member. HyungHo wouldn't be Forestella unless HH had sung with MinGyu in the random quartet round. The members of Forestella are whom MinGyu wrote as his wishlist for members. HH said MinGyu was a dedicating leader who used himself as a bridge to support other members' forte, cared himself as the last. Now all 4 are being leaders, deciding the songs and discussing the arrangement together, through countless hours of meetings among them and the music directors they work with.

I think you meant 눈을 감아도 from their first album Evolution, there would be fan-cams from their concert tour if they sang it there. Unfortunately, they never have sung Ttanttara Blues in live. I want to see it in live too so badly 🥺
Mingyu has so much operatic talent and expression. I'm really happy that he didn't let those not-so-great comments stop him! What a heartbreaking loss that would have been! :(
This song was performed after Forestella was formed, in fact, the other members helped Mingyu put the song together, and cheered for him. He was competing for the “King’s chair”, a Korean competition.
This was for Phantom Singer All Stars which was held during covid situation was gross. As all the Phantom Singer groups got canceled their concert, this show (PSAS) could be filmed, inviting 3 seasons' finalists groups altogether and had a festive competition. Each round had specific themes and this Balada de Trompeta was a solo round representing the group. Even though Cho MinGyu sang alone on the stage, Bae DooHoon coached him the acting as DH is a musical actor. And the other members also supported MG giving advices for his stage.

it's important to know that he plays a clown in this scene. Thus his gestures and emotions are overplayed just like w clown would do it. One of the judges (the lady who cried in the end) said that she stopped seeing Cho Mingyu on stage during the performance but she saw a clown in despair and that this performance will forever be in her heart :)
