The very name strikes horror into my soul. On a ski trip many years ago ago with the kids; they were allowed one bag of lollies of choice for the trip down from Auckland. My 6 yr old boy saved his until the last minute and gobbled the lot as we reached the motel. We were sharing a bed. During the night, he reared up, burped, and puked up the whole lot on my head. Since then, I've had to avert my gaze when I pass them in the supermarket.

I was advised to shield last year - 3.5 months alone in a one-bed flat with no garden access and no family nearby. Weirdly I coped ok, mentally, at the time (as tough as it was). It’s now that I feel like I’m struggling, as I try to make sense of the fact that some people view having to wear a mask for a 20-minute bus journey as being an affront to their human rights. People suck.
A fortnight in a hotel - with the ability to get out for 40-mins a day - would’ve been much preferred to my experience last year. On the plus side, though, I haven’t had covid and my friends and family are healthy so I’ve lots to celebrate. Not everyone is as fortunate.
This pandemic has really shown people’s true colours. That’s another blessing, in a way.

    • @adam346

Coping with isolation is a bit of an art form. I’ve had a chronic illness for 18 years. I was so bored when I first stopped working. Now I can kill time like a master 😂😂😂
Really the only difference in my life from the pandemic is that I stopped going to my doctor fortnightly and had calls instead. I go to him again now but less often. I still go to my chiro. It averages out to leaving the house once every 4 weeks. I’m fine with that. The part of it that I’m not fine with is the inner ugliness of people being displayed proudly. You are absolutely correct. People suck.

Still under 10% but there are pockets of kookery where scarcely half the people have had a shot. Since the national rate for all eligible people is about 82%, you can see these outliers are quite far out from most places. @Wake up NZ sad that so few people calling out the title of this video.
Sadly RH is a lefty and has a ton of woke followers.

Managing a small Pacific island with a population roughly size of Sydney and everyone thinks she's all that and a bag of chips.
Plus Kiwis are super easy going folk.
She's a glorified mayor presiding over a small, well behaved population.
I guarantee she'd have a nervous breakdown if she had to run the UK or USA.

I'm a bit confused. We have been 'allowed out' for ages now. When was this filmed?

I caught Covid a couple of weeks ago, along with a few other work colleagues. We all had an identical slight cough which lasted a couple of days and a runny nose.

You posted that in roughly March of 2022. If you caught covid in the start of 2021, before it mutated into a far weaker but more infectious virus, odds would be about 1 in 30 that of one of the three of you would have died.

I don't understand that, being a boomer in NZ. Nobody I know thinks like that, but they are all educated.

@@simonwhite8836 It could be an education issue, but it's also a question of whether you surround yourself with sexist and misogynistic idiots... That is the 'other trait' that these sort of people exert.
