In an exclusive interview with India Today NE's Deputy Editor Afrida Hussain, NSCN-R chairperson Y Wangtin Naga claims that Centre allowed Free Movement Regime up to 35 miles. He also claims that Nagas have never been part of the British empire and hence, they are not Indians. He urges GOI to recognise the identity of Nagas.

When he said that the Nagas were never part of India or the British, he was referring to the real ethnic Nagas ( Konyak, Nocte, Wancho, Phom, and other tribes of Tuensang). The rest of the tribes of today's Nagaland were administered by the British and their territory was named by them as the "Naga Hills".

Early, Our elders told our youngster to defend our land, mothers children from british and india. Thousand elders died, mother and sister were raped and killed, Therefore all youths started to defend, they stay day and overnight duty. Parents were supplying food to them. That's how all started. Tax and underground.
We are right to pay the taxes. Our Naga freedom fighter brothers are right to collect the tax.

And you are very true nagas have no demand for independence state since Naga is already independent but Nagas should humbly request India to withdraw her trops from Naga soil. Sir, Wangtin form his own faction as NSCN,R because he knows what is good N what is bad,due to signing peace with the Indian govt we are living peacefully.Sir, Wangtin was a gazetted officers but resign because he loves NAGAS. N join the indo Naga political group for the couse of Naga fight for sovereignty.

I feel like to laugh when he said that Nagas have never been a part of British or India when India became free nation but said that he was born in indian soil. He is still not very sure about Naga. I think he is still in a confusion even after being a part of Nationalist group leader and also he lack leadership quality. He doesn't have clear vision of being a leader. Britishers divided Nagaland and not India. That is what they did everywhere. They leave places ensuring that chaos and suffering persisted after they left. Free movement can't be allowed because both are in two different countries and it makes country vulneraboe to lot of illegal activities, however their can be a mechanism setup that movement becomes convenient.

If you were actually free hen simply read history and current scenario of Myanmar and you'll know how lucky you are. Even in mainland we all are different a many levels but we embrace eachother.
