An American running the Canadian Men's Soccer team? And MLS with their paws all over it? Is it a good day? A positive day? Can we dig up some reason to dislike it?

How are we spending this much time talking about Marsch and Mauro being of similar level? Marsch has won trophies in Europe, managed in the Champions league and premier league. Mauro Biello has 2 years as a head coach at a professional level. This conversation is so weird.
I certainly agree. Whatever you might say about Marsch's time in the Premier League, he coached in the best league in the world. The two can't be compared.
Mauro lost the job when the team collapsed at home under his leadership against Jamaica and lost a spot in the CNL final four. He was never coming back from that one.
Yeah, I was at that game and it was downright depressing to watch. Change needed to be made after that.
The personal agendas from Jimmy and Craig are crazy. The bias is obvious and disappointing.
Regarding the MLS' link, there is no such thing as "no strings attached" in so-called philanthropy.
I think it's good. There needs to be more of a connection between the CSA and the 3 MLS teams in Canada.
Not sure this is a good decision. Jesse Marsh is rather dogmatic in his approach to coaching. His success needs to be tempered. Yes, he won in Salzburg but Salzburg wins the Austrian Bundesliga all the time. His stay at Leeds was more nuanced. In fact, I would argue that his dogmatic approach to the game led to a divide between his expectations and the type of players he ad to work with. Anyway, we will see.
I love Mauro, but saying he's comparable to Marsch is just being dishonest. Biello has done a horrible job as Canmnt coach and i'm really glad we got Marsch in before the copa.
Fucking pisses me off that TSN’s reporter broke the news. During the search, there was little reported by TSN. It was mostly KJ, One Soccer and Footy Prime. TSN just pulled the rug up from everyone to get the big news
Of course it's a good day! So excited to have this appointment done in time for June. Well played, Mr. Blue! Marsch is a great choice, all things considered. I think with some tweaks, the 4-2-3-1 should suit this group of players very, very well. Craig is a grumpy old bear (not unlike myself), but he's very right about Marsch's tactics potentially continuing to leave Canada very exposed. In that formation, feels like Davies needs to play in fullback. If Eustaquio hangs back as a 6 whenever Davies makes runs forward, we should be able to hold things together reasonably well at the back. Kone can be free/encouraged to move further forward. Gotta keep 4 at the back, though - that's where we'll need some more discipline than we've had. So excited about June!!

Good blend of North American & European experience at the highest level
(not many/if any canadian coaches offer this ). I think its a good appointment !
The USMNT is on top right now. And with the amount of young talent coming up for the US I think everyone else will be playing for second.
For better or worse you needed a coach with top European experience to gain credibility among the new generation of stars who play in the top leagues in Europe. This is probably what hurt Herdman in the end.
