    This is my favourite piece by chopin . Every bar is like screaming “CHOPIN” . This is definitely a piece to really know chopin composition style

    • @lawrencewei3583
      @lawrencewei3583 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Which is funny because he wrote this at twenty when he had pretty much just found his matured “unique voice”

    • @chriscarson2547
      @chriscarson2547 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are so right. It doesn't have the structural focus of his 'mature' works, but every part is essential Chopin. It is one of his greatest Polonaises, and the Andante Spianato is one of his most beautiful Nocturnes. How breathtaking must it have sounded when he debuted it?

    • @simonlee8154
      @simonlee8154 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mutual. The piece flows in my mind and the joy unyielding.

      @@chriscarson2547 The debut didn't go well, I read in his biography. It was quite rough, I think it was largely due to his playing on the day rather than the piece itself. In fact it was one of his last concerts he did in a large public setting, with large audience etc. (Probably partially due to the unfavorable reaction he got from the public). Chopin always preferred playing to smaller audiences, in more intimate settings where he had more potential to touch people emotionally with his playing. However, I agree this is definitely one of my favorite Chopin pieces.

      Kansas Viking this song comes two times in the movie...
      The first when he is in the house and then he sits on the piano and imagine this music in his head but dont play the piano... its in the middle of the movie...
      The second is when the movie ends and he plays with the orchestra...

    I started playing the piano about two years ago and I watched a video of yours. Back then i had almost no music knowledge and mistakenly thought “looks pretty easy to me”. After these two years I’ve developed a much better understanding of the difficulties of piano, and I just have to say wow! A great performance! I especially loved the Scherzo No. 2!

    It's sounds great on the 'beat up old Baldwin'. Chopin seems to sound good on pianos that are a touch too bright. There was someone playing Chopin's own Erard piano (with the smaller than modern standard keys), it was a bit too bright also, even a bit tiny, but it sounded great for his music.

    It is a bit stretch for the world class. He struggles in the passages that are supposed to be light and fast. He obviously labors a lot playing this piece. I am not sure he could make it through the first round of the Chopin competition. It is a tough business. You’ve got to start at 3 or 4 and be exceptionally gifted. Certainly he’s got skills and could be an excellent teacher.

      @@charleyfeng2054 yh I do wish Chopin could've put more effort for the Orchestra sections of his concertos. Always the piano is overpowering, where as looking at something like a Rachmaninoff or Mozart piano concerto then you can really see the amazing possibilities of good orchestration and the constant relationship with the piano. They do way more than just accompany the piano.
